This bill transfers funds from hurting people via IRS enforcement to helping them via increasing funds availability in the two senior benefit-focused programs. In addition, the Protect Our Seniors Act includes measures to prevent reductions in Social Security and Medicare benefits.

The Honorable Rick Scott
Senator from Florida
110 Hart Senate Office Building
Washington, DC 20510
Dear Senator Scott,
On behalf of the over 2.1 million members of AMAC – Association of Mature American Citizens, including over 167,600 members residing in Florida, I write to offer our support for S. 424, the Protect Our Seniors Act.
Many senior Americans are already suffering from high inflation while on fixed incomes with high food costs and medical concerns that seem to only rise with time. They live in a financial pinch born of manifest incompetence of the Biden-Harris Administration by signing into law the “Inflation Reduction Act,” which did nothing to reduce inflation.
Your bill would transfer funds allocated to the IRS to the Old-Age and Survivors Insurance Trust Fund and the Hospital Insurance Trust Fund to stave off insolvency in those programs. The social good of this bill is that it transfers funds from hurting people via IRS enforcement to helping them via increasing funds availability in the two senior benefit-focused programs. In addition, the bill includes measures to prevent reductions in Social Security and Medicare benefits.
The administrative branch has swollen to unmanageable and unsustainable levels while Social Security program and Medicare obligations are in jeopardy of insolvency. The Protect our Seniors Act will help reduce government spending excesses on the administrative state while helping to keep the promise of funding availability to Americans participating in these programs.
Thank you, Senator Scott, for advancing S. 424. We are pleased to offer our organization’s full support for your efforts.
Sincerely,
Bob Carlstrom
President
