Truck drivers entrusted with the safety of motorists on our roadways must meet the highest standards of training, licensing, and legal eligibility.

The Honorable Jim Banks
Senator of Indiana
330 Hart Senate Office Building
Washington, DC 20510
Dear Senator Banks,
On behalf of AMAC Action, the advocacy affiliate of the Association of Mature American Citizens (AMAC), which has over 2 million members nationwide, I write to strongly support S. 3917, the Dalilah Law.
AMAC Action believes that protecting American lives and ensuring public safety must remain central to our nation’s transportation and immigration policies. Operating a commercial motor vehicle carries significant responsibility, and those entrusted with the safety of motorists on our roadways must meet the highest standards of training, licensing, and legal eligibility.
The Dalilah Law would strengthen these safeguards by restricting commercial driver's license (CDL) eligibility to U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, and individuals holding certain qualifying work visas. The legislation would also require states to review existing CDL holders' eligibility and verify compliance with English-language proficiency and testing requirements.
Americans deserve confidence that individuals operating large commercial vehicles on our highways are properly qualified, legally authorized, and capable of understanding critical safety instructions. Strengthening oversight and establishing consistent licensing standards are important steps toward protecting motorists, families, and communities nationwide.
AMAC Action applauds your leadership in introducing this important legislation and urges Congress to advance S. 3917 to reinforce accountability, uphold the integrity of our licensing system, and prioritize the safety of the American people. Thank you for your commitment to protecting American motorists and strengthening our nation's transportation safety standards.
Sincerely,
Rebecca Weber
CEO, Association of Mature American Citizens (AMAC)
Chairwoman, AMAC Action
