Stop the UN Global Climate Tax on American Ships

Later this week the United Nations will hold a vote on a multibillion-dollar climate change tax targeted squarely at American industry. Without quick and decisive action by the White House, this U.N. tax on fossil fuels will become international law.

This resolution before the International Maritime Organization will impose a carbon tax on cargo and cruise ships that carry $20 trillion of merchandise over international waters. Roughly 80% of the bulkage of world trade is transported by ship.

The resolution is intended to advance the very “net zero” carbon emissions standard that has knee-capped European economies for years and that American voters have rejected.

This international tax that would be applied to American vessels and as such is a dangerous precedent-setting assault on U.S. sovereignty. Since when are American businesses subject to international taxes imposed by the U.N.?

The U.S maritime industry believes the global tax would cost American shippers more than $100 billion over the next seven years if enacted.

Worst of all, if the resolution passes, it will require the retirement of older ships and enable a multibillion-dollar wealth transfer to China — which has come to dominate ship building in recent years. China STRONGLY supports the tax scheme — even though, ironically, no nation has emitted more pollutants into the atmosphere than it has. Yet WE are getting socked with a tax that indirectly pays for THEIR pollution.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Secretary of Energy Chris Wright and Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy have jointly stated that America “will not accept any international environmental agreement that unduly or unfairly burdens the United States or our businesses.” They call the financial impact on the U.S. of this global carbon tax “disastrous, with some estimates forecasting global shipping costs increasing as much as 10% or more.”

The U.S. maritime industry complains that although American vessels carry only about 12% of the globally shipped merchandise, U.S. flag vessels would bear almost 20% of this tax. No wonder China and Europe are for it. Even though the U.S. economy is roughly the size of Europe’s, the European Union nations get 17 “yes” votes to swamp the 1 “no” vote out of Washington.

To prevent this sinister tax, the White House should announce a set of retaliation measures. This could include a dollar-for-dollar reduction in U.S. payments to NATO, the U.N., IMF and World Bank. No foreign money should be directed to any nation that votes for this assault on American ships.

At a time when financial markets are reeling from trade and tariff disputes, the last thing the world — least of all the United States — needs is a U.N. excise tax on trade.

Good time also, to tell the UN to kiss their “behinds” goodbye and kick them out of NYC and stop all money support. Besides, if NYC votes in the Muslim/Commie, the extra space will be needed for living space.

Thanks to Stephen Moore for this article on the importance of stopping the U.N
. Global Climate Tax on American Ships .An attack on American sovereignty needs to be stopped..The third from last paragraph identifies the out of balance situation that would exist if this matter is not stopped. That is , while the American vessels carry about 12 percent of the globally shipped merchandise U.S. flag vessels would bear almost 20 percent of the tax..Not right. Ths article. ,presents good sense all around — it is appreciated. In the spirit of God bless America, land of the free and home of the brave.

“The European Union nations get 17 ‘yes’ votes to swamp the 1 ‘no’ vote out of Washington.”
Perhaps the U.S. should get 50 votes, one for each state.

For every “yes” vote the U.S. needs to tax the U.N. for it’s existence in NYC. Each country should pay 150% of this excise tax for each of their delegates AND support staff when the worthless UN is in session.

If Climate Tax is NOT enforced equally to all countries, it is invalid!
President Trump should immediately send an Eviction Notice for 10/31/25, along with elimination of ALL funding mechanisms. They can find a new location on one of the islands China has built specifically for them to occupy. Their votes are already bought & paid for by CCP, there is no need for UN to collect money from US any longer. Nor has their loyalty to the country that has provided a permanent home that took 41 years to build. Joe Bidens dad must have had the contract for that project! They have occupied the building for 45 years now, it is time to reclaim, and repurpose the facility for the people of the USA, NOT the UN elite!
Hope they realize they will become slaves (like Uyghurs), working for food & lodging. Good luck to you, if you have any functional organs, and similar blood types for any CCP members. All of your functions can be accounted for by AI video records, you have become obsolete to the US citizens. Buh-bye!

On one side I’d say most definitely move them to Canada, keep them close enough to easily watch, then sell the building. And financially stop supporting their demonic, non family, non Christianity ideologies!
On the other side there’s a saying “keep your friends real close and your enemies even closer!

What un they are a mafia organization they do nothing but rip off nations so they can live high on the backs of nations. They are the biggest joke of the world nothing but a den of thieves. We never should give them a dime. They are run by nations that would give them a cent so we better not. They were created to keep nations from eradicating humans and what have they done not a thing. A nest of demons.

A bit more homework needed to be done on this topic before yelling ‘the sky is falling’. A quick AI search and any common sense knowledge of global shipping will inform you that ‘American ships’ are almost non existent. Less than 1% of shipping is done on American ships. A tax is kind of a non issue.

President Trump should set a much lower amount on the amount the USA gives to support that organization which is hardly friendly to the USA and give them until the end of the year to find someplace else to do their business.

‘Without quick and decisive action by the White House, this U.N. tax on fossil fuels will become international law.’ Really? Under what authority? Last I looked, the united nations did not rule the world, so what right do they have to implement a worldwide tax? As a sovereign nation, the United States of America doesn’t have to acquiesce to any so-called “law” put forward by the united nations, nor should we, EVER!

The UN is just a self-serving bunch of tyrants and despots. Throw the bums out and let some other country deal with them. No universal taxation or regulation would ever be ‘fair’. Only the money grubbing ‘elites’ would ever benefit from it.
