Third-Quarter Update Breaks Down What's Driving the Shortfall — and AMAC's 15-Point Plan to Fix It

With Social Security's looming insolvency once again dominating headlines, the AMAC Foundation will host a free public webinar, "Social Security Insolvency: 2026 Third-Quarter Update," on Thursday, September 3, 2026 at 2:00 PM ET. The session is open to all Americans concerned about the future of the program and will feature the AMAC Foundation's Social Security Advisors.

As pundits weigh in on the potential impact of benefit cuts and experts dissect the problem's root causes, America's seniors are being deluged with competing theories and reform proposals. This quarter's update is designed to cut through the noise.

Attendees will come away with a clearer understanding of:

  • The insolvency issue and its basic causes, including the shortfall driven by years of congressional inaction
  • What insolvency could actually mean for current and future beneficiaries
  • AMAC's 15-point approach to preserve and modernize Social Security for generations to come

"Social Security is the retirement backbone for tens of millions of Americans, and they deserve straight answers about where the program stands and what can be done to fix it," said Ian Gargan, AMAC Foundation Executive Director. "Our quarterly updates are meant to give members and the general public a clear, honest look at the numbers — and a concrete plan forward."
