Politics is undoubtedly serious business, but that doesn’t mean that the Washington headlines don’t have moments of comedy – even if some of it is unintentional. Here are a few of the more amusing political moments from 2025.

1 – Trump Trolls Schumer and Jeffries with “Trump 2028” Hats

The return of President Donald Trump to the White House was great news for lovers of humor, regardless of political party, as Trump is undoubtedly the funniest president in American history. You’ll see his name plenty on this list – and for good reason.

With Trump back in the White House, liberals have continued hysterically declaring that the 45th and 47th president is a “wannabe dictator” and a “threat to democracy.” Their new conspiracy theory is that Trump will somehow defy the Constitution and run for a third term in 2028. (Anything to keep the fundraising gears turning, right?)

The President, in typical Trump fashion, decided to have some fun with that line of attack when House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer visited the White House in October. Imagine the shock on the faces of the two Democrats as they walked in and saw “Trump 2028” hats on the Resolute Desk.

The pictures alone are one of the more epic trolls in presidential history.

2 – Biden Replaced with Photo of Autopen on Presidential Wall of Fame

As part of the celebration for the nation’s 250th birthday next July, the White House unveiled a “Presidential Wall of Fame” along the West Colonnade outside the Oval Office. The wall contains portraits of every president. But in Joe Biden’s frame, Trump included a picture of an autopen signing Biden’s name.

The jab was in reference to reporting that Biden rarely signed off on even major decisions, including pardons. Instead, his staff had the autopen sign most documents.

3 – Trump Trolls Democrat Rivals on Wall of Fame

The Biden-autopen swap wasn’t the only comical part of the Presidential Wall of Fame. A few weeks after the portraits went up, the White House also posted plaques underneath each president providing major details about their tenures. It was another golden opportunity for Trump to display his famous sense of humor.

“Sleepy Joe Biden was, by far, the worst President in American history,” the 46th president’s plaque declares. Bill Clinton’s plaque, meanwhile, notes that “In 2016, President Clinton’s wife, Hillary, lost the Presidency to President Donald J. Trump!”

4 – JD Vance Recreates Meme of Himself for Halloween

One of the more bizarre political developments of 2025 was the “memeficaton” of Vice President JD Vance. Following an Oval Office blow-up with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Vance critics began photoshopping his famously boyish features to make him appear cartoonishly immature. But in typical meme fashion, right-wing trolls on social media quickly embraced the trend and began making their own Vance memes in support of the VP.

The trend culminated in Vance himself dressing as one of the viral memes for Halloween and posting an image of the costume on X. The moment of light-hearted self-deprecating humor was well-received online, and Vance’s post has racked up more than 57 million views.

    5 – Marco Rubio’s Awkward Lamp Photo

JD Vance wasn’t the only Trump administration official who became a meme this year. Secretary of State and National Security Advisor Marco Rubio also set the internet ablaze when he embraced an awkward photo from Vanity Fair by making it his profile picture on X.

Earlier this month, Vanity Fair published a controversial hit piece on key administration figures, complete with deceptively edited unflattering photos that were a clear attempt to embarrass top Trump officials.

One of those officials was Rubio. A photo inside the West Wing shows the former Florida Senator uncomfortably standing in a corner, leaning slightly forward, and appearing to stare at a lamp. “Who put Marco Rubio in a corner?” was the phrase that everyone kept asking.

Like Vance, Rubio was able to embrace the potentially embarrassing moment and spin it in his favor.

    6 – “Everything’s Computer”

Back in March, Tesla CEO Elon Musk rolled some of his company’s electric vehicles onto the White House South Lawn for President Trump, who was in the market for a new car. After perusing the various models, the President purchased a cherry red Model S Plaid – a show of support for Musk as a “great patriot” after leftists had been targeting Tesla dealerships with vandalism and even firebombings.

While the image of Trump and Musk sitting in the car together was enough to break the internet, the real viral moment came as Trump gazed at the futuristic display panel in the car.

“Wow, that’s beautiful… everything’s computer!” the President declared.

Even leftists online had to admit it was hilarious. “Unfortunately, ‘wow… everything’s computer’ will probably be entering my lexicon now,” one X user with the name “CEO of Antifa” commented. “‘Everything’s computer’ is, unfortunately, going to be a classic,” another remarked.

That was just the start of the flood of memes that saturated social media – yet another example of Trump’s ubiquitous cultural relevance.

    7 – “I Thought They Died”

Trump’s most famous and hilarious jabs by far throughout his political career have been with corporate media journalists trying to trap him with “gotcha” questions. A reporter with HuffPost made another run at Trump on Air Force One in February and was predictably humiliated.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about and neither do you. Who are you with?” Trump said after the reporter asked him a convoluted question, mischaracterizing a statement from Vice President JD Vance.

    “HuffPost, sir,” the reporter responded.

“Oh, no wonder,” Trump scoffed. “I thought they died. Are they still around? I haven’t read them in years, I thought they died.”

They just may have after that comment.

8 – Trump Hammers Critics as “Low IQ”

One of Trump’s best qualities is his propensity to say what we are all thinking – whether it’s politically correct or not.

In July, Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX), famous for her expletive-laden rants, called Trump a “piece of sh*t.” Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, long a vehement critic of the President, had also been blasting Trump with her usual insults.

When a reporter asked Trump about the outbursts just before he boarded Marine One, the President delivered a hysterical response.

“AOC – look, I think she’s very nice but she’s very low IQ and we really don’t need low IQ,” Trump said. “Between her and Crockett, we’re going to give them both an IQ test to see who comes out best.”

9 – Trump Tells Media He Doesn’t Want Them to Be Comfortable

Construction began this month on a new “big, beautiful ballroom” planned for the East Wing of the White House, financed entirely by Trump himself. When Trump made the announcement in August, the media were predictably incredulous and took the opportunity to plead with Trump for a new briefing room.

“Could we build a big beautiful briefing room?” one reporter asked the President.

“No. I don’t want to do that,” Trump responded with a half-smile on his face. “I don’t want you to be comfortable. I don’t want to make life more comfortable.”

To their credit, the journalists in the room took the joke well, erupting in laughter.

10 – Trump’s Visit to the Roof of the West Wing

In yet another viral moment that had social media in stitches, President Trump was spotted on the roof of the White House in August above the Press Briefing Room to inspect potential future construction projects.

A mob of reporters quickly gathered underneath him and began shouting questions up at him. “Mr. President, what are you doing up there?” one asked.

“Just taking a little walk,” Trump shouted back. “Just more ways to spend my money for the country.”

“What are you trying to build?” someone else asked.

“Nuclear missiles,” Trump jokingly responded, while making the gesture of a rocket launching

      11 – DHS Deportation Memes

Trump’s famously savvy use of social media has apparently worn off on his administration, as top government agencies have taken the online world by storm so far in his second term.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS), charged with carrying out Trump’s deportation agenda, has been particularly active, posting a series of funny posts and videos both recruiting agents and encouraging illegal aliens to self-deport.

In one particularly viral example, DHS overlaid footage of illegal aliens being arrested with the theme song from the popular Pokémon cartoon series. (Gotta catch ‘em all!). Christmas-themed deportation memes this month also had social media in an uproar.

Illegal immigration is no joke – but that doesn’t mean that protecting the American homeland from criminal illegal aliens can’t be fun.

Trump’s fake 2028 run was probably his best troll of the Dems of the year but he also got them plenty steamed when he tacked his name to the Kennedy Memorial Center (just wait until they see the size of his nameplate on the new White House Ballroom).

And don’t forget Marjorie “Traitor” Greene and commanding a reporter to stop questioning him with: “Quiet Piggy”.

This article is appreciated Shane – All I have to say in the way of a comment has to do with some political history – from Ronald Reagan – a humorous story about an American and a Russian discussing who has more freedom of speech . So, the American states that any American who wants to speak to the President can go to the Oval office and say to the President – ” Mr.President I don’t like the way you are running this Country ! ” The Russian replied by saying he can do the same thing in Russia – that he can go to the Kremlin to the office of the General Secretary and say – ” Mr.General Secretary I don’t like the way President Reagan is running his Country ! “

Isn’t it great to have humor in government officials? Just the best it’s ever been, the best right now, and the best it will ever be. How much fun it is to be able to laugh with our president and his staff. Laughter is good medicine, and may be the tonic that heals the whole nation.

ANY MORON who tries to get the best of Trump or his cabinet (the BEST that has EVER BEEN APPOINTED), gets destroyed in a crash and burn, self-inflicted act of INSANITY.

FRICKING HILARIOUS. And what makes it even better, it infuriates the America-hating, radical left-wing, TDS Socialist-Commies even MORE (if that’s even possible??).

Trump is EXCELLENT at exhibiting REAL humor; not hatred masquerading as humor as the DIMMs practice! Their FAKE late-night comics wouldn’t know humor if it bit them in their “donkeys.”

I agree that some of these are humorous and i appreciate humor being ‘allowed’ back into our world after political correctness almost killed it. However, I do NOT like the plaques in the White House. President Trump has to get past the past. He has too much to do in the next three very short years to continue to dwell on those who came before. He’s made is point dozens of times. Let it go!

I love this article. The best one was when he was on the roof. Nobody had ever seen a president on the roof of the White House before. And after asking what he was doing up there and president Trump answering I am going for a little walk. They still didn’t know what he was up to. That is what I love about this president. He goes about his business and gets things done. His cabinet does the same. And quietly they get things done. Only the dems hate it. First of all they are jealous. For years under Joe nothing was done. Harris had no platform for America and its citizens. After the election they still couldn’t figure out how come they lost. They brought in 20 million voters from every corner of the world. They even tried to kill Trump not once but twice and many attempts as well. And still he won. Because President Trump is for the people and for America. And what he promised he has delivered. Even in spite of the obstruction every day from the left democrats. One day somewhere in the future maybe they will see that we all are Americans. Maybe. We can only hope and pray.

Trump has a great sense of humor. Unfortunately, Democrats are humorless as well as unattractive. Never have I seen so many ugly women and fat men crowded into one party. Maybe looking in the mirror first thing in the morning puts them off their feed!!

Trump whips out his laser pointer and the idiots at the DNC and in the media, sorry I repeat myself, start chasing the little red dot. These morons are running into walls, over cliffs and into each other. Comedy at its best. Trump plays them and they respond like idiots. They should get a clown car for their antics.

I see absolutely no humor in any of this because it’s sad to see where our country’s political system has fallen. It’s more of an asinine joke more than it is humorous.
