Just like the famously energetic Donald Trump seems to always be in two or three different places at once, several top members of the President’s staff have been pulling double duty and holding down multiple high-profile roles in the government throughout the start of Trump’s second term.
Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy was the latest addition to the list in July, taking on the role of Interim NASA Administrator. “Honored to accept this mission. Time to take over space. Let’s launch,” Duffy wrote on X shortly after the announcement. Duffy will now take on the daunting task of leading America’s return to the Moon, which Trump has repeatedly emphasized as a top goal for the space agency.
While Duffy will certainly have his hands full in his two roles, former Florida Republican Senator Marco Rubio undoubtedly holds the title of the busiest man in the administration. In addition to being Secretary of State, Rubio is also Trump’s interim National Security Advisor. Henry Kissinger famously juggled both of those roles as well for President Richard Nixon. Rubio is also the head of the U.S. Agency for International Development, which Trump has worked to shutter, and acting National Archivist. Rubio’s many roles have sparked plenty of online jokes and memes, including one humorous suggestion earlier this year that the Catholic Rubio would be taking over as the next Pope.
Attorney Ed Martin, meanwhile, holds three titles at the Department of Justice – Associate Deputy Attorney General, Pardon Attorney, and Director of the Department of Justice Weaponization of Government Working Group. In those roles, Martin is primarily focusing on ending the weaponization of government against conservative Americans and rooting out Deep State corruption.
Some other high-profile double-duty Trump administration officials include Jamieson Greer, Dan Driscoll, Keith Sonderling, and David Richardson. Greer holds the Senate-confirmed post of U.S. Trade Representative, where he is spearheading the President’s tariff agenda, along with running the Office of Government Ethics and the Office of Special Counsel. Driscoll is Acting Director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms, along with being Secretary of the Army. Sonderling was sworn in as Acting Director of the Institute for Museum and Library Services just eight days after the Senate confirmed him as Deputy Secretary of Labor. Richardson is the Acting FEMA Administrator, along with being an Assistant Secretary for the Department of Homeland Security for Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction.
This lean, no-nonsense approach is classic Trump: cut the bureaucracy, slash the fat, and get results. While past administrations bloated the federal government with overlapping roles and redundant departments, Trump’s team is proving that a smaller, more focused staff can move faster, work harder, and deliver more for the American people.

Great article. Thank you for pointing out some hardworking people in the Trump Administration. Most hardworking people have no time to “toot their own horn(s)”. I am glad for the introduction.
Government work is usually 9-5 and set lunch and break times. The rest of the country sees executives and other exempt from overtime folks working 12 and 16 hr days to get the job done with less staff. The executives Trump has doing double duty are handling it well.
TRUMP IS TOP DOG GENIUS. He has put together America’s greatest, American Presidential Cabinet in US history. ALL are dedicated super stars in their field of expertise, have impeccable standards and incredible work ethics, and ALL are America First PATRIOTS. I mean WOW, talk about a true and real American DREAM TEAM.
This only works when you have highly motivated, intelligent and experienced people in place. Trump knows that you find the best people available, tell ‘em what you need done, and turn them loose! Too bad the Democrats favor incompetence and sexual proclivity and/or skin color over merit. Note to Democrats: only one race, homo sapien sapien, aka human and only two sexes, male and female. A reminder of a lesson that I learned as a child 70+ years ago: “Nouns have gender, people have sex.”
This ain’t Rocket Science as the guy said-it is the standard in successful private enterprise in our country. Trump’s forte apparently. Only Bloated Bureaucracies would find this exceptional
We have been blessed with some extraordinary individuals working in the Trump administration. The Founding Fathers were extremely well educated, knew the Bible thoroughly, knew Roman law and English law and applied their wisdom and insight to creating a new country. Washington said in referring to the happenings before and after 1776 that it was unlikely that it could ever happen again in history. Perhaps the new group is not a religious as the founders but they are the best at what they do, each with his individual talents to apply to his appointed tasks. How wonderful they are working to restore our constitutional republic. AND, we now do have prayer breakfasts in the White House. Once you have pointed this out more and more people will recognize the brilliance of Team Trump! Thank you!
Well written.
They have done a great job, please do not lose momentum and stop and enemies of our country to include the Democratic Party!!!
Are they getting extra pay for each of the “other” jobs assigned to them?
None of this means anything when a predator is moved to minimum security prison and all the others walk around free. Thus is wrong!
Trump,Vance,Kudlow,Bessent , Luddnick, all say that the tariffs do not cause inflation. The impact of tariffs is just starting to show up in higher costs & will get higher in the next few months. If Trump believes in tariffs, then why did he contact both Amazon & Walmart and wants them to hide or eat the tariff costs.? Trump just hit Brazil with 50% tariff for political reasons & suggest to all to look at cost of coffee in the future & how much more it costs American consumers. Transparency should be telling Americans the truth & nor hiding stuff.
Powell & Fed are the most important economic advisors to the Trump dynasty & I hope that Trump realizes this & does not act in haste.. If Trump fires Powell, the bond market and US Dollar will probably crash big time. The Trade war is already harming our dollar and Trump/Vance are both backing Cryptocurrency which will become another direct competition to our dollar. Is it true that Trump said this week that he makes more money when dollar is weaker? I strongly warn Trurmp not to fire the Fed Chair.
