Less than a month after it was launched, 24 Republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives have already joined the Sharia Free America Caucus. Republican Reps. Keith Self and Chip Roy of Texas created the caucus to “fight back against the radical ideology” and “save Western Civilization from the threat of Sharia.”
“Sharia law and groups linked to radical Islamist ideology seek to gain a foothold in our communities, challenging the Constitution and the Western values on which our nation was founded,” Roy told The Daily Signal. “I am encouraged that more Members of Congress are recognizing these threats and are joining the Sharia Free America Caucus to confront them head-on in Congress.”
‘Nations Are Losing Their Identity and Freedoms’ to Radical Islam
The threat of Sharia law in Muslim-dominated American communities has increasingly garnered conservative lawmakers’ attention.
Sharia law is a system of Islamic religious law that guides personal behavior and civil and criminal justice, often in conflict with Western concepts of liberty and government.
Self, the caucus’s co-founder, told The Daily Signal that the group’s “core mission is to sound the alarm on the alarming rise and spread of Sharia in the United States—before it erodes our sovereignty, culture, and way of life,” as it has been seen “in parts of Europe, where nations are losing their identity and freedoms.”
The caucus hopes to “educate” Congress, foreign lawmakers, and the American people on the “clear dangers of Sharia,” to “U.S. law and our constitutional rights, while preventing “any infiltration of Sharia,” through the reinforcement of America’s legal and immigration systems, and the advancement of “bold legislation.”
In March of 2025, the first major Sharia law-only compound, known as EPIC City, emerged in the United States.
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott tweeted that he has “signed laws that BAN Sharia Law and Sharia Compounds in Texas.”
In response, the Texas chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations condemned Abbott’s response.
What the Sharia Free America Caucus Wants
The “bold” initiatives championed by the group include the Preserving a Sharia-Free America Act and the No Sharia Act, which aims to bar the enforcement of Sharia-based judgments in U.S. courts.
Other legislation upheld by the caucus includes the No Tax Exemptions for Terrorist Acts, which would target the funding and tax-exempt status of groups tied to Sharia Law, such as the Muslim Brotherhood and CAIR.
By enacting such legislation, the caucus aims to ensure that “no foreign legal system, religious code, or radical ideology will ever supersede the Constitution as the unchallenged foundation of American governance,” Self added.
Other members, such as Reps. Randy Fine, R-Fla., and Mark Harris, R-N.C., told The Daily Signal that the caucus ultimately aims to “call evil by its name” and “reduce the threat of radical Islam.”
Harris told The Daily Signal that “radical Islam isn’t just a threat in places like Mamdani’s New York City—it’s already here in suburban North Carolina and spreading rapidly across America.”
Fine told The Daily Signal that “mainstream Islam is one of the biggest threats facing the United States today.”
“We just saw the Muslim attorney general in Minnesota siding with the rioters who stormed a Christian church because he claimed it was their First Amendment right to desecrate a place of worship,” Fine added.
“We need to call evil by its name. Sharia Law seeks to subjugate women; it seeks to destroy what made America America,” Fine continued. “We can see it in the Muslim Somalis, who have come to this country, where 84% are on welfare, and compare that to the Hindus, where 10% are on welfare.”
“We cannot ignore the danger on our doorstep. Sharia Law encourages its followers to harm innocent people—the exact opposite of our Constitution, which protects the liberty and rights of all Americans,” Harris added. “Radical Islam is not compatible with Western civilization.”

Support Congress to pass bills to ban Sharia law in the USA. Texas has been in battle to stop a muslin city being built in their state this year, and that is a start. There is an old Arab proverb that says …LET A CAMEL GET HIS NOSE IN YOUR TENT AND THE REST OF HIS BODY WILL FOLLOW. Just take a look at the push for Sharia law has done to other countries & let us not allow that to happen here. Women need to pay extra special attention to this issue. I hope that Congress follow thru on passing this bill.
Let’s publish the names of the brave 24 who are part of the caucus, and ask the other 194 why they aren’t part of it. And, what about the Senate? Anyone who supports sharia law needs to go live under it somewhere other than the US. There are plenty of options out there
Excellent article about the real goal for Sharia Law. The Muslim culture has a 100-year plan for their takeover of the USA. It has been entrenched in some areas of the nation and now is the time to fight back to ensure that our freedoms through the US Constitution are not eliminated by this threat
This should be more widespread, there should be a lot more than just 24 Representative’s in this caucus
We have a constitution and a body of laws that are the foundation of our country and our society. We cannot have two sets laws in one country. Sharia law is despicable but if a group wishes to live under it let them do it in a Muslim country that embraces it.
And then there is Iran with how many thousands of dead wanting to shed the shackles of chocking poisonous ideology, not one word of support from the lovers of freedom from oppression that are so loud here. Do they think they’ll be allowed to have an opinion, to protest and scream in the face of law, when Sharia is it, it only will serve to all control seeking ,insecure males who will govern with an iron fists, good luck ladies. Say good bye to your wardrobes. One black rag will do.
This shouldn’t even be an issue in the United States. Sharia Law and the Constitution aren’t even on the same level. One takes us back to the stone age and enslaves us, the other frees us. GO HOME Sharia Law (and followers). GO HOME.
There is no place for Sharia law, or its promoters and adherents anywhere within the jurisdiction of the U.S. Constitution and its excellent guidance for the governance of a people and its republic. Root it out and quickly, permanently deport those who attempt to introduce it into this nation.

Religious freedom does not include ignoring our civil laws or establishing your own. There are reliefs for those who reject war fighting, beyond that the laws of this country prevail. Refusing or failing to assimilate is a rejection of citizenship. Such action would indicate those groups came here to avoid their own zealots but learned nothing in the transition; OR they came here to take over our country. In either case they can be escorted to the border permanently!

This is greatly needed. However, I fear there are too many on the left who have been so thoroughly brainwashed that they are incapable of critical thinking and common sense. One thing this caucus should do is stop saying “radical islam” because ALL islam supports sharia law. If one calls themself a muslim and practices the teachings of the koran, then they are “radical” in nature. If one calls themself a muslim but does NOT practice the teachings of the koran then they are not really muslim. All it takes is listening the the imams teaching in mosques around American and the world. They will tell us over and over again that islam is NOT compatible with any other religion or culture. If they want to practice islam let them go to a country that is islamic. Those who practice islam do not desire to live at peace with anyone, not even other muslims. If all “infidels” were gone and only muslims existed, they would kill each other.
This needs to be signed into law or we are in big trouble. This is serious. The enemy within is here.
Please learn what damage Sharia law will do to our Country. Pray that it never becomes law.
