‘Drill, Baby, Drill’ Is Working

Well, so much for the vaunted renewable energy “transition” to save the planet. This was always a fable.

We get 80% of our energy from fossil fuels, and with Donald Trump now in the White House, that ratio is rising, not falling.

A Reuters headline from recent days tells the real story: “US crude production to hit record 13.41 million (barrels per day) in 2025 before falling.”

The data from the International Energy Agency tells the same story about clean natural gas: We’re producing more of it than ever before. Why shouldn’t we? The U.S. has greater access to clean, cheap, reliable, and made-in-America natural gas than any other nation. Natural gas is far cheaper and less land-intensive than ugly wind and solar farms that industrialize America’s natural landscape beauty.

All told, American energy in the ground is a $50 trillion treasure chest right under our feet. The commercial value of this abundance is nearly enough to pay off our entire national debt. We would be lunatics to leave it in the ground.

The rapid revival of America as an energy superpower under Trump should come as no surprise. This is a continuation of a 15-year trend thanks to the fracking and horizontal drilling revolution that has nearly tripled U.S. annual production.

Even under Joe Biden — who was as green as poison ivy — oil and gas production hit new highs. But that was mostly due to the sharp rise in oil prices when Biden became president.

Crude was over $100 in 2022 and generally ranged between $70 and $85 for the rest of Biden’s term. At $100 a barrel, drillers will search for oil in your backyard. If it were not for Biden’s environmental regulations and the cancellation of vital energy infrastructure, such as the Keystone XL pipeline, we would have produced far more oil under Biden. Gas wouldn’t have gone up to $5 a gallon.

What’s impressive about the Trump oil production spike is that it’s happened even as the global spot price of oil has fallen. In other words, we’re getting the best of both worlds: made-in-America energy AND low prices at the pump. The Energy Information Administration reports forecasts that gas prices will keep falling to below $3 a gallon by next year. That is, unless you live in California, where gas still costs above $5 a gallon.

Let’s not forget the national security benefits from this pro-drilling strategy. More U.S. drilling means less profits for Iran, Russia, and other enemies of freedom. It weakens Vladimir Putin’s hand and drives him to the negotiating table since the Russian economy is dependent on natural gas exports for survival.

This story is a helpful reminder that policy directly impacts everyone’s lives and that a president’s policies matter. One of Biden’s first executive orders was to cancel the Keystone XL pipeline to slow oil and gas delivery across the country. Trump rescinded the order on the first day of his second term, making oil and gas production a national security and economic priority.

As a result, we are looking at a future with America dominating global energy markets, and prices here at home continuing to fall.

Our National Debt artifically inflated due to the Green New Deal. Congress still spends too much, but this will definitely help.

I do not know if he will see this comment but, Thanks Stephen Moore for a fantastic article. As I was reading and saw: “We would be lunatics to leave it in the ground.” I smiled broadly and laughed out loud, thinking: Why don’t you tell us what you really think?
It was not that long ago at the height of the Dems “woke power” that conservatives carefully watched what and how they said things because of censorship and cancellation. Now folks are back to claiming their rights to freedom of speech. It is soooo refreshing!!

The Earth is not a static rock; it’s a dynamic, living machine. At its core—literally—is a high-pressure, high-temperature reactor: the boundary between the Earth’s solid mantle and liquid outer core. Down there, deep beneath the crust where organic matter doesn’t exist, carbon, hydrogen, and metallic catalysts interact in extreme environments. Through natural chemical processes—think of them like industrial synthesis on a planetary scale—hydrocarbons are created from the Earth’s primordial materials.

This isn’t speculation. Laboratory experiments have replicated these conditions and shown that methane and other hydrocarbons form abiotically. We’ve also discovered hydrocarbons in places where organic matter has never been—like the deep ocean crust and on other planets. You think Saturn’s moon Titan has forests? No. It’s literally raining methane there. Nature doesn’t need biology to make hydrocarbons.

The point? Oil doesn’t come exclusively from fossils. It also comes from the deep Earth, where geothermal reactions are constantly producing it. That means oil isn’t a “finite, dying resource.” It’s being renewed all the time far below where we usually drill

We wouldn’t need so much oil if deportations are performed.

Thank God for return to normalcy and sanity, and that which works .Green energy push is good for one thing only, to put money in the pockets of grafters and manipulators who do not give a hoot about planet. They all need to be publicly exposed for what they really are, urging us to cycle to work while they gad around in private jets.

I am with you Stephen Moore. Two of Trump’s biggest accomplishments, to my mind, is securing the border and increasing energy production.

I agree with the article but I have not saw a decline in gasoline prices in our area (DFW, Texas). We stay between $2.89 and $3 a gallon. Rarely does it drop below. I would like to see a average lower than this.

If it wasn’t for this article, I would not know about falling gas prices. why does it still cost $4.99 per gallon in Washington state?

It’s nice to read that gas prices through out the country may come down with the exception of slum California. Unfortunately I live in the land of stupid and will be watching gas price soar. Between the idiots that run this state and the morons suing oil providers and the closing of two refineries can’t wait to see 8 or higher prices for fuel. Lets see how the mentality incumbered of California like living here with their choice of elected idiots.

what i hope happens is that DOGE shuts everything down and that way trump and his people can bring this country back up with proper and honest programs that will serve the future generations as it is obvious that the last couple of generations did nothing to stop the demo voters from trying to put this nation into a total abyss

Here in Alaska, the prices are up 7 cents per gallon since Trump took office. Our sole refinery owner is a true-blue Democrat, and refuses to budge.

If only they could find natural gas on my small property. Thank you for the return of my dream of being financially set for life. I don’t really believe that will happen for me, but it is so nice to know that Drill Baby Drill is happening.

No one mention the fact that the more refineries and more drilling will bring more jobs opening.

Another AMAC article about latest DJT approval ratings stated that joebama had over 50% approval rating in August 2021 before the Afghanistan FUBAR. I question how, after bozo Joe cancelled pipeline contracts, caused gas prices to skyrocket, and “transitory” inflation to last for years.

Thank God President Trump is in office instead of Kalama! How much would gas be? Glad we are drilling, baby. Biden was an idiot to think that solar, wind and electric cars would solve our energy problems. Now let’s work on strengthening our electric grid and infrastructure. Go Trump!

What is wrong with having some of our oil and gas as reserves & keeping it for a rainy day. History gave us a lesson a few years back what happens if oil price falls to $50-60 dollars and Midland, Texas & Alaska are a good lesson in supply and demand economics.
