AMAC Action is closing out 2025 with a slew of victories for AMAC members as multiple bills advancing key conservative priorities have passed the U.S. House of Representatives over just the past several days. These common-sense measures aim to lower health care costs, strengthen Social Security protections, and provide clarity for beneficiaries while upholding fiscal responsibility.

Lower Health Care Premiums for All Americans Act (H.R. 6703)

The Lower Health Care Premiums for All Americans Act addresses rising insurance costs and increases transparency and flexibility in the health care marketplace. The bill’s provisions focus on lowering premiums, enhancing disclosure requirements for Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs) – long a key priority for AMAC Action – and expanding coverage options for workers and retirees.

“We strongly support the bill’s focus on lowering premiums and increasing transparency, particularly its transparency with respect to Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs),” AMAC Action wrote in its support letter. “By increasing competition and flexibility in the marketplace, these reforms will help strengthen employer-sponsored coverage and ease the financial pressure on families.”

Improving Social Security’s Service to Victims of Identity Theft Act (H.R. 5345)

This legislation streamlines assistance for Social Security beneficiaries who fall victim to identity theft by establishing a single point of contact within the Social Security Administration (SSA). The bill promises to enhance accountability and responsiveness for victims navigating bureaucratic challenges.

“This legislation offers a common-sense, compassionate solution by establishing a single point of contact within the Social Security Administration (SSA) for victims of identity theft,” AMAC Action wrote in support of the bill. “We believe the Improving Social Security’s Service to Victims of Identity Theft Act will help restore trust in public institutions and ensure that our seniors receive the dignity and care they deserve.”

Social Security Child Protection Act (H.R. 5348)

The Social Security Child Protection Act strengthens safeguards for children by directing the SSA to issue a new Social Security number to children under 14 when their original number is compromised in the mailing process. This proactive measure protects young Americans from years of potential identity theft and financial harm.

In endorsing the bill, AMAC Action wrote: “Your legislation provides an essential safeguard for our youngest citizens… A child’s Social Security number is the key to their future financial and personal security. If compromised, it can result in years of damage, often undetected until adulthood.”

Claiming Age Clarity Act (H.R. 5284)

The Claiming Age Clarity Act updates Social Security terminology to provide retirees and future beneficiaries with clearer and more robust information about claiming ages. Research shows that American seniors lose a combined $3.4 trillion in potential income due to early claiming. By replacing confusing labels like “early retirement age” with terms such as “minimum benefit age,” the bill helps individuals make better-informed decisions about when to claim benefits.

In its support letter, AMAC Action emphasized that “this commonsense reform is vital to ensuring older Americans make informed decisions that directly impact their financial security in retirement… As conservatives, we believe in personal responsibility, but that responsibility must be supported by honest information.”

These successes demonstrate AMAC Action’s continued influence and commitment to advancing policy that directly benefits seniors, families, and American taxpayers. By engaging members of Congress and mobilizing grassroots support, AMAC Action helped secure passage of meaningful reforms that protect financial security, promote affordability, and clarify critical federal programs.

“AMAC Action finished the year strong because we stood firm for commonsense solutions that matter to everyday Americans,” said Andy Mangione, Senior Vice President of AMAC Action. “Our members’ voices were heard on Capitol Hill, and these legislative wins reflect what happens when engaged citizens demand responsible and effective policy. We will continue fighting for seniors and families in 2026, starting with working to get this legislation through the Senate.”

Obama care is a disaster. A totally absolutely disaster. The cost is taking up a large portion of our social security income because of monthly premiums of over $ 450, prescription drugs (one of us), co-pays, etc.

There should NOT be an income-limit for early retirees. I will have to wait until my FUUL retirement age to be able to ‘maybe’ afford Medicare, because with the ridiculous “income-limit’, I cannot afford to pay for Medicare!! With the way we have all been ripped off, you would think they would do away with the income limit for early retirees!!!!

Folks, I wouldn’t sign up for Social Security. If you are a young person, pledge 15% of your income to savings. With compound interest you will be a multi-million air, able to do what ever you like. Yes I say, opt out. Check it out.
