The Honorable Aaron Bean

4th Congressional District of Florida

2459 Rayburn House Office Building

Washington, DC 20515

Dear Representative Bean,

On behalf of AMAC Action, the advocacy affiliate of the Association of Mature American Citizens (AMAC), with over 2 million members nationwide, we write to express our strong support for HR 8293, the Abolish the CMMI Act.

As a conservative organization representing seniors, we believe Medicare should prioritize patient choice, access to quality care, and the physician-patient relationship. The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI) has exercised broad authority to implement nationwide payment and delivery models with limited congressional oversight. Many of these demonstrations have affected beneficiaries and healthcare providers without consistently achieving their stated goals of improving care or reducing costs.

America's seniors deserve a Medicare program that is transparent, accountable, and responsive to the needs of patients. Changes to the Medicare program should be debated openly by Congress, where elected representatives are accountable to the people they serve. Your legislation provides Congress with an opportunity to restore its constitutional role in shaping Medicare policy and to ensure that future reforms are enacted through the legislative process rather than administrative experimentation. We believe this legislation is an important step towards protecting seniors' access to care, preserving the doctor-patient relationship, and promoting responsible stewardship of taxpayer resources.

Thank you for your leadership on this important issue and for your steadfast commitment to America's seniors.

Sincerely,

Rebecca Weber CEO,

Association of Mature American Citizens (AMAC)

Chairwoman, AMAC Action
