SAVE TEXAS UPDATE: Leaders Gather as Fight Against Sharia Law Intensifies

As AMAC has previously reported, Texas Republicans have placed a primary ballot proposition before voters on March 3 asking whether Sharia law and any foreign religious legal code should be banned in Texas. To support this effort, AMAC and other organizations committed to protecting the Constitution attended a high-level strategy meeting in the Lone Star State last week.

As speakers at the event made clear, March 3 is only the first step in a fight that has implications far beyond Texas. Among those in attendance were Steve Bannon, Lt. Col. Allen West, historian Bill Federer, numerous Texas state representatives, grassroots leaders, and policy experts.

The clear takeaway was that banning sharia law is more than just a call-to-action – it is a line in the sand to defend the U.S. legal system and protect religious liberty for Americans of all faiths.

The broader concern with Sharia law is the steady normalization of parallel legal systems in American communities. If Texas — long regarded as a firewall for constitutional governance — allows even incremental erosion of its legal foundations, participants warned, the precedent would ripple nationwide.

Much of the discussion at the strategy meeting centered on the constitutional conflicts between Sharia-based criminal enforcement and American law. A legal briefing circulated at the meeting laid out how Sharia-based criminal enforcement is unconstitutional in the United States.

The First Amendment protects religious belief and worship — not the enforcement of religious criminal codes involving coercion, unequal justice, or corporal punishment.

The briefing detailed how Sharia-based practices such as punishing apostasy, suppressing dissent, enforcing gender-based discrimination, or imposing corporal punishments would directly violate multiple constitutional provisions. The Eighth Amendment prohibits cruel and unusual punishment; the Fourteenth Amendment guarantees equal protection; the First Amendment protects speech and religious freedom. Under the Constitution, only the state may enforce criminal law — and it must do so equally for all.

While opponents of the Texas GOP’s efforts to ban Sharia law have framed it as a theological debate, in reality, it is a sovereignty issue.

Speakers emphasized that protecting the Constitution protects peaceful Muslims as well. Around the world, Sharia-based regimes most often harm Muslim women, dissidents, and minority sects. The Texas initiative targets only the enforcement of religious criminal law — not worship, not belief, and not private religious observance.

Participants also reviewed recent developments in Texas, including the proposed EPIC City development in Collin County and prior legislative efforts aimed at preventing residential enclaves from operating under foreign legal principles. Lawmakers in attendance stressed that vigilance now prevents far more serious conflicts later.

A clear strategic consensus emerged that the effort must expand beyond a single ballot proposition. Public education, legislative reinforcement, and continued grassroots mobilization will be necessary well beyond March 3.

For AMAC members and concerned citizens, the next opportunity to engage is just days away.

A national virtual briefing on the Save Texas initiative will be held on February 17. This event will provide a deeper analysis of the constitutional issues, outline the next legislative steps, and equip participants with tools to mobilize in their communities.

You can register HERE.

Texas has often set the tone for the rest of the country. The leaders gathered last week believe this is one of those moments. If constitutional governance holds in Texas, it strengthens everywhere. If it weakens there, the consequences will not remain confined within state lines.

Why is this even a discussion? Sharia law is an abomination to this nation. These infiltrating muslims who bring this to our shores should be outed and removed because it goes against any Constitutional law. If they are naturized citizens then they are in violation of their oath of citizenship because they lied. There are laws on the books but no one has to follow them. Politicians and bureaucrats who allow this are equally responsible. Start there.

Onus is on the newcomer to adapt. They all know America is a Christian country, refuse to adapt, leave. To expect host country to meet every expectation and demand is unrealistic, and absolutely unacceptable. Especially if they came from the country that already has a Sharia law.

Only the LAWS of the UNITED STATES are valid in this country, per the CONSTITUTION. NO other countries laws are VALID on the US. Establishing any other LAWS is nothing but PURE “TERRORISM”, assimilate to our laws or “GET THE F&@K OUT.of our country.

We have had to show an ID, recite our full name and address when voting, as far back as
I can remember. Democrats make it sound like getting an ID is a monumental task. I’ll bet
if the government says “get something free”, there will be flood of applicants for ID cards.
“I can’t believe how easy that was”. Just saying.

When will the USA and indeed the entire planet realize that Islam is NOT a religion but a governmental system and their constitution is Sharia law.

Therefore, since it is not a religion, the religious freedoms afforded other faiths in addition to Christianity in the USA, do not apply to Islam.

There should not even need to be any discussion about it! It you are not going to abide by our Constitution then get the hell out of my country!

I don’t live in TX but I am an American citizen and last I heard we live under the US Constitution! Seems for the past 10 yrs or more especially under the Obama WH, with all the immigrants storming our borders, we seem to forget that. There should never be a need to bring this to a vote! It’s insane that our government can’t just say to these Muslims NO! U don’t come to our country and try to change our laws to fit ur crazy lifestyle. Go back to ur country where u can practice ur crazy Shari law and antisemitism shit! OMG! Enough is enough! We have a country to save, in the words of Larry Elder!

I don’t understand how this is even a fight. There was one law in the United States that’s under the Constitution. That’s it. It’s not like everybody gets their own law. Unless of course you’re a Democrat then you’re immune to any laws but other than that no.

We are one nation and we only have one set of laws, applied equally to all of us. Religions don’t get to make or enforce laws…

I can’t believe we are even discussing this. Anyone that even brings up sharia law should be immediately deported with no chance of return. This is America not their third world piece of crap country.

The Moslems have said over and over they want to take over the world and every country will be under Moslem law. Wake up America and save our country from all these immigrants who don’t want to assimilate to our laws. We did not ask you to come here you are the ones who choose to come here so, if you don’t then it is time for you to lave and return to the country you came from. STOP trying to change our country to what you want that doesn’t fit into our laws.

This attempt by Muslim leaders is another step in their plan to destroy the US and take over the country for Islam. They’ve been working out their 100-year plan to destroy western culture for decades.

Our nation has welcomed their immigrants, same as others, thinking they would assimilate. That has not happened anywhere their numbers have grown (i.e., Minnesota) who has communities of Muslims now under Sharia law and representatives in US Congress to grow their power. It’s not a coincidence those reps are all Democrats — look what’s happened to that party over the last decade+ of Muslim influence at state and federal levels.

It took this situation in a GOP-favored/run state to bring this serious issue to light.

It’s appalling that this is an issue in OUR Country. The law of our land is the US Constitution and Bill of Rights. Nowhere is there anything that includes the laws and regulations of islam and sharia. Those who came here and want to live under sharia must be deported to a country where they can have their wish. There are plenty of places where sharia is law. This push to implement it here is a poke in the US Citzens’ eyes. It is a blatant push to take over our Country. It must NOT be allowed. The first step to doing this is to stop looking at islam as a religion. It is NOT a religion. It’s a political system that encompasses a religious element. It’s designed to take over and rule every aspect of your life. It is counter to our Constitution, which promotes individual autonomy and rights. We must make it illegal for any laws other than our Constitution and Bill of Rights to stand in the USA.

Warning to all the females…if you support this garbage, I suggest you look up and learn about Female Circumcision, aka Female Genital Mutilation (FGM). This is horrific, painful, and disfiguring, and it is done to females as young as seven years old.

This ban should be a no brainer. This cult crap does not belong in AMERICA.Do the people that want this sharia stuff really know what this would do TO AMERICA.We can’t let this happen in Texas and cannot let this virus spread. But the democrats would probably allow this only because the conservatives are totally against this virus.

We keep hearing that these throngs of people are coming to AMERICA for a better way of life, and I can understand that.

Why on earth would they attempt to bring their way of like to America if they came here for a better way of like.

To me it is a no brainer, no Sharia law in America. You want to live under Sharia Law go back to where you came from.

This is America, you are welcome to come here, legally of course, but leave your ways of life in your home country and assimilate to ours.

Islam teaches Muslims to lie and deceive, so when they’re saying they will follow the United States Constitution they’re lying. They have no intention on following our Constitution. Islam also teaches Muslims to kill the infidels. Infidels are Jews and Christians.

Texas should not have to stand alone on this. This should also be a mandatory USA issue! Congress instead of playing with your gamemanship DEMs vs. REPs, step up in a bilateral position and make it a law that Foreign based laws are not the law of our LAND!
Stand up and do your jobs and quit the playground bickering, start representing what is good for our NATION that we hope to keep past 250 years! Go back to reading what our forefathers warned us about if we become complacent in our duties.
How many lost their lives to help make us the best country that has been blessed because we were faithful to defend it through good times and very hard, lean times!
GET BUSY!

Seems to me that 400 years ago North America was INVADED by the CHRISTIANS.
What goes around, comes around. Better not let it happen again or we’ll be sorry, just like the native Americans were – think ‘trail of tears’.
