The SAVE America Act takes clear, commonsense steps to ensure that federal elections are secure, lawful, and worthy of the public’s trust.

The Honorable Chip Roy

Washington, DC 20515

Dear Senator Lee and Congressman Roy,

On behalf of AMAC Action, the advocacy affiliate of the Association of Mature American Citizens (AMAC), with over 2 million members nationwide, I am writing to express our strong support for the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) America Act.

America’s seniors have spent a lifetime participating in elections and upholding the rule of law. We understand that public confidence in elections is essential to the survival of our republic. The SAVE America Act takes clear, commonsense steps to ensure that federal elections are secure, lawful, and worthy of the public’s trust.

We strongly support the bill’s provisions that:

  • Require eligible photo identification for voting in federal elections;
  • Require proof of U.S. citizenship, obtained in person, when registering to vote; and
  • Require states to remove non-citizens from existing voter rolls.

These measures safeguard the right to vote by ensuring that only eligible American citizens participate in federal elections. Seniors across the country overwhelmingly agree that voting is both a sacred right and a serious responsibility, and that reasonable protections are necessary to preserve election integrity for future generations.

We commend your continued efforts to defend the integrity of our elections and to advance legislation that reflects the will of the American people. Thank you for your principled leadership and service to our nation.

Sincerely,
Andrew J. Mangione Jr.
Senior Vice President

    Good. We need fair and honest elections. There is nothing wrong with everyone having an legitimate ID.

    I can think of only one reason you would not want Voter ID—-to load the votes with illegal voters, pack the voting boxes (I think it’s been proven that’s been done in the past). We need voter ID and we need it now.
