Staying active after 50 is one of the best ways to maintain independence, improve mobility, and support long-term health. Join AMAC Active host and Senior Fitness Specialist Melanie Griffin for a special webinar on March 25, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. EST, focused on practical ways to stay strong, balanced, and confident as you age.

Melanie will be joined by fitness professionals Jennifer Andrews and Denise Rose, founders of Beyond Fit Coach, to share simple, effective strategies for building strength and protecting mobility. Whether you’re just starting your fitness journey or looking to maintain an active lifestyle, this session will provide helpful tools you can begin using right away.

You’ll learn why strength training is especially important after 50 and how it supports bone health, metabolism, balance, and everyday movement. The presenters will also discuss the three pillars of healthy aging fitness — strength, mobility, and balance — and how to safely start or improve a strength training routine.

This informative session is designed to help you move better, feel stronger, and stay confident in your body at every stage of life.

What You’ll Learn:

  • Why strength training is essential after 50
  • The three pillars of healthy aging fitness: strength, mobility, and balance

Well, I will, in a few days reach my 95th birthday and I have not had a whole lot of strength training. Was totally well until a bad accident a couple of years ago, but am still fairly strong.

Strength training causes muscle tears and broken bones. This is absolutely horrible advice. Especially for females. Not only are females too weak to strength train and more likely to sustain serious injuries – have you looked at females who strength train? The look more like weird muscular men than females. Nobody likes or wants females who lift. Ick.
