HEALTH Act, Brainchild of Late AMAC Founder Dan Weber, Re-Introduced in House

Shortly before Thanksgiving, Congressmen Daniel Webster and Greg Steube reintroduced the HEALTH Act, a straightforward reform that would let doctors deduct pro bono care and expand access to primary health services for low-income Americans. This bipartisan proposal was first inspired by late AMAC Founder Dan Weber and offers a practical, compassionate way to reduce costs and ensure more families can see a doctor when they need one.

Pearl Harbor: A Day That Lives in Infamy

In the 5-minute video Pearl Harbor: A Day That Lives in Infamy, renowned historian Victor Davis Hanson explains how the day the Japanese Imperial Navy bombed the U.S. Naval base at Pearl Harbor shocked the nation, brought it into a world war, and lead to the greatest industrial renaissance in the history of civilization. Term of the Week: Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day

Observed each year on December 7th, Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day honors the Americans who lost their lives during the surprise attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941. It is a day set aside to pause, reflect, and remember the courage of those who served, the civilians who were caught in the chaos, and the moment that drew the United States into World War II. The day reminds us that freedom is fragile, and the sacrifices of past generations must never be forgotten.

Just before 8 a.m. that Sunday morning on the island of Oʻahu, the day was beginning like any other Sunday. Without warning, waves of Japanese aircraft swept in. Torpedo planes ripped through the battleships along Ford Island, dive-bombers struck hangars and aircraft at Hickam Field and Ford Island, and a massive explosion aboard the USS Arizona claimed over a thousand lives in an instant. A second wave followed minutes later hammering naval yards, airfields, and the battleship Pennsylvania. The Nevada, attempting to escape the harbor, was forced to beach after multiple hits.

In less than two hours, more than 2,400 Americans were killed, the fleet was heavily damaged, and the nation was forever changed. On Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day, we honor their sacrifice, reflect on the resilience that defined America’s response, and recommit ourselves to remembering the history that shaped our country.

“Providence has showered on this favored land blessings without number, and has chosen you as the guardians of freedom, to preserve it for the benefit of the human race… You have been wisely admonished to extend from sea to sea.”

Does anyone know what “December 7th, a day that will live in Infamy” even means? Imfamy: A state of extreme dishonor. Words that have no practical meaning in today’s vocabulary, and all but a faded recollection for the very few left remaining that witnessed a world atrocity. As the remaining Pearl Harbor survivors pass away, so does the memories of extreme sacrifice like all wars before and all the wars to come. Names of the dead etched into marble is all that remains along with the usual token remembrance “from a grateful nation” . I thank all of them for their ultimate sacrifice, may God give rest to their souls.
