Equity is Dangerous – Marxism is Not American

americanWhy are Democrats harping on “equity” between groups rather than “equality” between individuals?  They are pushing Marxism.  Democrats’ push for massive spending, redefining infrastructure, federalizing elections, dramatically raising taxes, ending First and Second Amendment rights, infusing society with illegal aliens, and “leveling” society is about transforming America into a Marxist paradise – at least for many.

Fundamentally, “equality” and “equity” are different.  The first is an American constitutional value, found in the 5th and 14th Amendments, dedicated to assuring individual citizens are entitled to equal protection under the law, an equal chance to participate in society, from education and employment to security and prosperity.  The second is a Marxist term, demanding mass transfer of wealth between groups, giving what is earned by one to another – by force.

The coercive force, of course, is government – a centralized, powerful federal government.  This was not America’s founding idea – quite the reverse – which is why Marxists, an increasing clump within the Democrat Party, hate our Founders, want to delegitimize them, and take power.

To be clear, America’s Bill of Rights – modernized by the 13th, 14th, and 19th Amendments – empowers every individual citizen and acknowledges God-given rights, independent of race, sex, or any other difference.  The Constitution does not promise material outcomes to groups.

Since individuals know what they want, how hard they will work, the goal is to give every individual an equal shot at “life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness.”  The entire Constitution is centered on limiting the government’s power over the individual, giving us each an even shot at success.  Marxism, by contrast, divides society into immovable groups or classes – and demands that the material positions of these classes be leveled by forceable redistribution of wealth.

The two concepts could not be more opposed – one putting hope, power, opportunity, and freedom in the individual, with government as a guardrail; the other putting power in an all-knowing, coercive, brutal dictatorship of “the proletariat,” in practice empowering elites to control society’s production, stealing proceeds of work by some to support the rest, leveling groups and meeting appeals for individualism with prison or death.  History is proof. Marxism leads inexorably to social misery, the end of liberty.

So, now come to modern America.  Democrats are harping on “equity” – that trapdoor into Marxism, the end of a society premised on individual liberty and equal opportunity.  But look closer, and you can understand how utterly bankrupt “equity” – group leveling – is.

The concept of forcing “equity” – equal outcomes for all groups across society – is nonsensical, in practical terms absurd.  Even if you liked the idea – better than individual liberty and equal opportunity – it is an empirical impossibility.

Why?  Because every group consists of countless crosscutting groups, every collection of aggrieved individuals had multiple, overlapping group identifiers.  If you divide America by groups with unequal outcomes, crosscutting groups all endless claims against each other.  The concept becomes ridiculous.

Examples make the point:  Dividing America by groups, identifying them as materially different, and then pitting them against each other can only lead to self-destruction.  This is how Marxism works – pitting us against each other, with the only remedy for total government control by elites.

To be real:  Prejudices by one group against another, based on human differences, are as old as time, as varied as ways in which anyone can group humans, and wholly indifferent to national identity.  Dividing people – to justify Marxism – is easy.  Uniting them around liberty, equal opportunity, and individual responsibility – as the Founders knew – is difficult.

In Africa, as in America, inter-group prejudice exists.  In Congo, Bantu persecute Pygmies.  In Ivory Coast, Mauritania, Niger, Somalia, and Sudan, intertribal racism is rampant. Prejudice is a human, not a national flaw. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Racism_in_Africa#Congo.

Nor are skin color or economic differences the only basis on which Marxists would level us.  Americans could be divided and pitted against each other by geography, gender, age, religion, height, weight, dozens of differentiators – which overlap, making inter-group leveling absurd.

Objectively, regions could contest resources by a group; women fight men and vice versa, young angle for the wealth of older Americans, short envy tall, skinny disparage fat, religions compare material position – all seeking “equity,” or material parity. That is what Marxists thrive on, stirring, activating, and mobilizing resentment, making violent and deep societal divisions.

That is exactly why the idea of “equity” – or seeing society as competing “groups” in need of material leveling rather than individuals seeking equal opportunity – is so wrong.  America can be seen as a thousand groups and divided a thousand ways, but in the end, we are all individuals.  Assuring an equal shot at success, equal opportunities, freedoms, mutual understanding that we should celebrate differences – is where the future lies, not in Marxism, Communism, or the modern Democrat’s all-leveling Utopia, but in our Founders’ vision, “one nation under God.”

Why is everyone ignoring the 600 pound Gorilla in the room????
The question of equity/equality is a mere jumping off of hype disguising what is a larger issue. Separation of Legal Jurisprudence by RACE! Different laws and their application based entirely on what IS acceptable (tolerated) behavior in one group but is NOT acceptable behavior in another!
Thus different rules based totally on social mores. People of color will be held to a “different” set od standards than anyone else?

Marxists espouse ‘equity’; supposedly. However, some Marxist leaders have: four to five mansions, a private airplane, their own airport, and an expense account. This of course, they explain away; as some sort of ‘shared ownership’.

We need to spread this article and others that explain the dangerous difference between equity and equality under the law. Too many Americans believe they are the same…

Finally a response where someone understands WE have a personal responsibility to educate and inform others, instead of simply sitting back and waiting for “someone else” to do something. There is way too much wring of the hands and saying “We can’t do anything until (fill in the blank) is changed.”

I was thinking the same thing! Absolutely agree. Instead of all the talk with no action. We need to educate. I’m going to start by copying this and give it to my son who is currently trying to explain this to his junior high school history class. We should figure out how to get this out since we’ll never hear it on mainstream news

From my old Grandpappy; This Nation (America) is made up of Rich men, Working men, and Poor men. Some times Poor men get to be Rich men, Some time Working men get to be Rich men, and Some times Rich men get to be Poor men. It is up to you Jody what you want to be and our Nation gives you the chance. Note Grandpappy worked hard all his life, was as happy as could be!

AND the only trespassers the House of Representatives (including some republicans) are the President Trump supporters caught on capitol grounds January 6, 2021. Is this because these are the only people the FBI is investigating and the only people still in jail? It is not because they are the most violent protestors.

Half of our population never watches any news media except for the “big three” and CNN. They have no idea what is happening to our country under our current Communist regime! Our media is the largest threat to our Republic and one of the main reasons that Biden even got elected. These people have no idea what the difference between the truth and a lie is let alone the difference between equality and equity. Until our media is called out and faces consequences for its blatant lying, it appears that our country will soon be another Communist nation walking hand-in-hand with China.

Agreed. I watch the local Fox affiliate in the morning (local news and weather until 10, while the big 3 local channels switch to the networks at 7). However on Sunday morning I turn on the NBC “news” program just to see what they’re saying. Usually about ten minutes is enough. Everything presented is either blatant or subliminal leftist points, with questions posed to conservatives constructed to be unanswerable (like the old “Have you stopped beating your wife?”)

Like I said, about ten minutes is usually all I can stand, even though I try to stay long enough for a commercial so I can get a sponsor to boycott and tell that I’m boycotting them.

RBC,

What needs to happen, to wake the sleeping masses from their apathetic slumber, is for every single Republican politician to essentially lead off every single public discussion or TV appearance with repeating the first paragraph of your article verbatim. With the possible exception of dropping the ” at least for many” part. The only real exception that exists in any Marxist society is for the ruling elite that run the show. Everyone else gets to experience the same grinding misery and pain of what Marxism produces.

Republican politicians need to properly frame the real threat in graphic terms and spell out the reality of what the Democrat party truly is: The American socialist / communist party masquerading as so-called “moderates” or “progressives”. The term “progressive” was coined by American socialists in the early 20th century, after reports of what life was actually like for the average person in Stalin’s glorious socialist Russia began leaking to the western world in order to try and thinly mask the same ideology from the American public.

I get that most politicians on both sides of the aisle like to dance on the head of a pin, for fear of alienating any potential voters, when it comes to taking a hard stand on any issue. However, dancing around the elephant in the room that can and will crush the United States if allowed to continue unchecked is national suicide.

Yes, some Republicans toss about the terms socialism or socialist as part of their regular talking points now, but honestly they don’t emphasize the results that socialism with make on this country in strong enough terms. Most are clearly and simply reciting a canned little speech some pollster has sold the party’s leadership on, as evidenced when even friendly media types ask follow-up questions and the politicians just end up repeating what they just said to run out the clock. Most politicians on our side of the political spectrum, that being the Republican party, are talking in mostly vague, abstract terms that simply won’t get through to most of Americans that continue to sleepwalk through life. Whether you loved or hated President Trump, he knew how to get a point across. He knew how to make issues relatable to the public at large. He may not have used the most eloquent language, but he got the job done. At the end of the day, getting the job done is all the Republican party should be focused on. To date they are all over the place, still trying to cobble together a compelling message about the dangers we all face if the Democrats are fully successful at achieving their Marxist goals.

The Republicans mistake is thinking that people understand the language they are speaking. Many don’t. But, they will understand when it hits their pocketbooks. Socialism/Communism – you do what the government says whether you like it or not. Unfortunately, if my one grandson’s “American History” course is all over the place, the kids of today don’t have a clue about socialism/communism and what they will be giving up. Gotta hit them where it hurts! My one grandson was for Sanders free college – until I explained to him that it might be free while going to college but he would be paying for it for the rest of his life. He didn’t understand before but he learned and wasn’t happy with that idea. He thought he’d get free college and then could go along as he had before college – doesn’t work that way. It’s not free as so many of the things being done now aren’t really free.

The kids have been kept clueless! We have to put this out there for people to understand! Now with more money to stay home our country faces a huge battle!
