WASHINGTON, DC, Apr 21 — Is the U.N. saying young children have a right to engage in consensual sex– including consensual sex with an adult? It certainly appears to have officially announced that the world needs to adopt a kinder, gentler approach to what is commonly known as “Statutory Rape” in the civilized world. If not, what does the United Nations mean when it publishes a declaration that: “sexual conduct involving persons below the domestically prescribed minimum age of consent to sex may be consensual in fact, if not in law. In this context, the enforcement of criminal law should reflect the rights and capacity of persons under 18 years of age to make decisions about engaging in consensual sexual conduct and their right to be heard in matters concerning them.”
The U.N. document, The 8 March Principles for a Human Rights-Based Approach to Criminal Law Proscribing Conduct Associated with Sex, is the handiwork of the International Committee of Jurists, the UNAIDS [the Joint United Nations Program on HIV/AIDS] and the U.N. Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights.
It goes on to state that “Pursuant to their evolving capacities and progressive autonomy, persons under 18 years of age should participate in decisions affecting them, with due regard to their age, maturity, and best interests, and with specific attention to non-discrimination guarantees.” Although the report doesn’t overtly suggest sex with minors should be legalized, it claims that children younger than 18 years of age are capable of willingly having sex with older individuals, according to the Washington Free Beacon.
The paper goes on to quote Grace Melton who served as a public delegate on the U.S. delegation to the U.N. Commission on the Status of Women. It was led by former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley who told the Free Beacon, “this document advocates for a lot of troubling ideas and bad policies. Not only does it suggest that minors may be mature enough to consent to sexual activity, but it also asserts that ‘criminal law may not in any way impair’ the so-called right to abortion or to ‘gender-affirming care.’ [It] illustrates some of the consequences of the progressive left’s expansion of what constitutes ‘human rights’.”
As one observer put it, “Worse yet, the U.N. report effectively and insidiously provides adults who engage in sex with underage children an affirmative defense against committing statutory rape … Indeed, the report, in effect, suggests it is no longer criminal conduct and detracts from the protections accorded an under-age girl or boy against intimidation to say it was consensual.”
The reaction to the “The 8 March Principles” came under fire on the social media site, Twitter, says Fox News. In its coverage of the report, Fox quoted a Twitter post by women’s rights activist Michelle Uriarau of Melbourne, Australia, who wrote, “This hideous UN report … seeks to decriminalize sex — even between children and minors. Evil.” The report also quoted Canadian Olympic gold medalist Theo Fleury who succinctly declared, “The UN is full of pedophiles!!!!” As it shows, the U.N. report has sparked a major uproar as people in government continue to push their agenda and sexualize young children.

I happened to run across this “report” the other day while I was digging around the UN website. I read the whole thing and I was ready to throw up. This is absolutely heinous and I can’t believe that people in a position of power would even dare to say it, let alone write it down. It just is more proof that these people are coming after our kids, one way or another! We have to watch our babies like a hawk!

When the United Nations was first instituted, it was successful at being the “international overseer” in regard to world wide concerns that were shared by its member nations. But for the last several decades and especially now, they have become an international joke. In the past, they’ve put the worst human rights offending nations in the world on their “Human Rights Committee” and done very little to stop the atrocities that continue to take place in those same countries. There are still UN members, who are involved in slavery, human trafficking and genocide, etc. and the organization has done nothing to stop these offenses. In fact, they seem to favor the most egregious of these countries over all other members. And now, they have chosen to become progressively “woke” and foster all the degenerative behaviors of the far left and they are delusional enough to think the rest of the sane world will comply with their moral corruption. The United States, as a sovereign nation, can and should withdraw from the UN immediately and stop funding them. They should expel the headquarters of the organization from our country and let them go elsewhere. They are not an elected body–We, the People, never voted for their platform–and therefore, we can choose to ignore them. Perhaps, the citizens of this country should insist on a national referendum to send them packing. I’m sure Xi Jinping would be glad to set them up in Beijing.

There is one thing that can be done to ensure peace for the future. Humble yourself before the Lord, confess your sins, accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and live for Him in the manner which He taught us while He was here on earth. It won’t make this life any easier. But taking those steps will make eternity glorious beyond description.

Our US Supreme Court ruled several years ago, that treaties entered into by the U.S.A. of which we have one with the UN, take priority over US Law. If the UN passes a rule or regulation such as this (or the UN Small Arms Treaty meant to disarm our populace, but not yet ratified in the Senate) then those rules and regulations (Global Warming included) take priority over our own. This is what happens when you have godless people in control. They most likely want to do away with boundaries and restrictions regarding human behavior. What they call “freedom of choice” is actually slavery to a ruined life with government agencies picking up the pieces.

Then again, given our government’s position that middle schoolers should be able to decide what gender they want to be on any given day, the answers to these questions are obvious: The US government has abandoned the concept of moral authority.
Under Biden we have quietly ceded so much of our national sovereignty to various international organizations (WHO, EU, UN, BIS, etc.), that within the next few years we will have little to no say in how we lead our day to day lives here in the United States. Biden has already granted the WHO full autonomy to direct and control our healthcare response in the next pandemic. The BIS is already working with our Treasury and Federal Reserve to essentially hand over control of our money and banking system to unaccountable foreign bureaucrats within the next couple of years. At the rate things are progressing under this administration, everything will be decided for us by unaccountable bureaucrats in foreign countries, who essentially tell our elected representatives what to do. All very much in the same governance model of how the EU and other foreign entities set national policy for the European nations that make up the EU. The people in those countries get to vote for certain politicians, up to a certain point, but none of the people they vote for have any real authority to do anything on behalf of the people without the expressed consent of the international bureaucratic infrastructure above them calling all the shots.
