Need to bring a dessert to a family affair, potluck dinner, or social event? This triple chocolate cake is the answer. Not only is it easy to make but this dessert screams delicious!

Ingredients:

  • One package cook & serve chocolate pudding mix (3.4 oz.)
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • One box chocolate cake mix (18-1/2 oz.)
  • 1 cup good quality semi-sweet chocolate chips (Ghirardelli preferred)

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 13 x 9” baking pan with butter and set aside. Meanwhile, mix the dry pudding mix with milk according to the package directions and cook until slightly thickened. Remove from the heat and stir in the dry cake mix. Pour the cake mixture into the baking pan and sprinkle with chocolate chips. Bake for 30 minutes until set like brownies. Cool, cut into squares, and serve.

Chocolate Fun Facts:

Did you know…chocolate is made from the fruit of cacao trees? The fruits are called pods, and each contains around 40 cacao beans. Some trees are more than 2,000 years old, but most give marketable cocoa beans for only the first 25 years. Also, it takes 400 cocoa beans to make one pound of chocolate. Most cocoa hails from West Africa and is raised on family-owned farms. And, because cocoa trees are so delicate, farmers lose on average 30 percent of their crop each year. Cocoa contains phenolic acids which work against inflammation and aging.
