Having company and realized you forgot to buy salad dressing? Here are three quick and tasty ones you can make in a pinch - likely using some ingredients you already have around the house! Have fun in the kitchen making your own dressing – using better ingredients!!! Each recipe makes one cup dressing!

Easy dressing one

Fine French Dressing:

  • 1 clove garlic, finely minced
  • ⅓ cup ketchup (All-natural preferred if possible)
  • ⅓ cup mild red wine vinegar
  • ¼ cup high-quality olive oil
  • 2 Tbsp. real Mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp. sweet paprika

Place all ingredients in a mason jar and shake well. Use immediately or refrigerate until ready to use.

Easy dressing two

Non-raw egg Caesar Salad Dressing: Anchovy paste:

  • 2 anchovies, pressed into paste
  • 1 clove garlic, finely minced
  • ¼ tsp. salt

Mash the above ingredients together. To a mason jar, add the anchovy paste and the following:

  • 2 Tbsp. real Mayonnaise
  • 2 Tbsp. mild red wine vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp. fresh squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 tsp. of your favorite mustard (Dijon, honey-mustard, or yellow mustard)
  • ½ tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ cup high-quality olive oil
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Shake & use immediately or refrigerate until ready to use.

Easy dressing three

Best Blue Cheese:

  • 6 oz. crumbled blue cheese
  • ⅓ cup sour cream
  • ¼ cup real Mayonnaise

Mash the above ingredients together. To a mason jar, add the mixture plus the following:

  • ¼ cup whole milk
  • ¼ cup chopped chives
  • 2 Tbsp. shallots, finely chopped
  • 1 Tbsp. white wine or champagne vinegar

Use immediately or refrigerate until ready to use. These dressings are best used shortly after being made or up to two days refrigerated.

Serving double and triple duty!!!

These quick homemade salad dressings can be used in multiple ways. For example, one may put them on green salads. Or ….

  • Use the French dressing as a sandwich or burger spread or even as a potato salad base!
  • Use the Ceasar Salad dressing as dip for vegetables, chicken fingers, or French fries or pour over cut cucumbers to make a salad!
  • Use the Blue Cheese dressing to top a steak or baked potato - or mix with chopped cooked eggs and a sprinkling of chopped chives to create a creamy Blue Cheese egg salad sandwich!
