I think Elon is a very smart and hard working individual. I don’t trust his kneejerk reactions and his over the top emotional outbursts. I have watched our President work very hard for the American people, I will hold on to the trust that I have for DJT. The sad thing is that if Elon is successful in splitting off just 19% of the Republican voters, it will result in the same effect that Ross Perot had, which handed the election over to Bill Clinton.

Dummycrats stay unified. Elon is a great person b I t to splinter the GOP would play right into their hands. GOP must stick together. We do not want to blow the next election. Trump is giving us a lesson
Of what can be accomplished. Stay the course.

I can’t respond to the poll because you don’t have an option for “I hate the idea because Musk is acting like a spoiled rich kid who thinks he can pay to have everything his way. Before he talked about starting a new party, he said he was going to stay out of politics. He betrayed his friend, President Trump, because he thought he knew better. He should stay in his lane and leave geopolitics to the one who has risked his life and fortune for this country.

Obviously, Elon Musk does not realize that in his attempts to form a new third political party (the America Party) that he is playing into the hands of the deranged socialists who now hate him. Wasn’t it the extreme radical wackos that recently burned inventory at several Tesla dealerships, and berated him for the success of his brainchild DOGE?

Musk’s proposed America Party platform very much resembles the current Republican platform under President Trump, i.e. 1st and 2nd Amendment support; advancement in AI and other tech projects; upgrading military systems; reducing regulation in energy et al; and reducing debt & employing responsible spending.

The debt/spending issue was the impetus that got Musk’s undies in a bunch. The Big Beautiful Bill (BBB) recently signed by President Trump was not perfect, but was the starting point to adopt future bills in his final remaining 3 plus years in office; to do more and more to reduce our debt; and employ common sense to spending and regulations. It took years to get us in this fiscal mess, and one BBB won’t completely clean up the mess…but it’s a start!

Instead of dismantling the current (and not perfect) conservative party that seems to be headed in a more positive direction to making America great again, Musk-rat should consider pouring billions of dollars into campaigns of candidates (at all levels) who are in line with his agenda and maintain conservatism.

Historically, American politics has been a saga of one party against the other in a two-party system.  Many have tried to break the cycle, albeit unsuccessfully, with one exception.  In 1860, John Breckinridge broke away from the Democratic Party and formed the Southern Democratic Party. In doing so, he took enough votes away from Stephen Douglas enabling Abraham Lincoln to be elected president with only 40% of the vote, but it worked.

However, it doesn’t seem likely Elon Musk will fare as well and should stick with X, SpaceX, Tesla and any new innovation he can create. It’s time to mend the friendship between these two men!

“Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.”

Personally, I don’t think his effort will gain much traction, but I might be very wrong. Further, I don’t thinks it’s a good idea. As others have noted, it will hand more votes/power to the democrats/leftists, and that is never a good thing, especially with the gang of “soviets” that the Democrat party is rife with. But that’s just me. I look forward to reading others comments.

While not only unconvince, I am dead set against a third party at this time. Let the reformed Republican Party continue to work its magic. The results have been staggeringly good so far under Trump. A third party will be to the detriment of restoring honesty to our government. I’ve been waiting ever since Reagan retired to see the Republican Party return to conservatism and real family-friendly values. Don’t derail it now, please, Mr. Musk.

If Elon really wanted to change things for the better, he would have worked WITH President Trump to try and replace the RINOs in Congress. Congress is the problem. Congress is the body that control the money, appropriates and mis-appropriates the tax dollars.

Congress is supposed to create a budget – but every year it’s a continuing resolution where they do nothing but add to what they spent last year. They give themselves raises, think they are better than the common people and THEY DON’T DO WHAT WE ELECTED THEM TO DO!

Even with a clear mandate, President Trump can only do what the Executive Branch is authorized to do.

Look at Congress now – talking Amnesty when we want Deportations. Talking a CR for September…wth? Sending more money to Ukraine when we want the war stopped.

CONGRESS IS THE PROBLEM.

It’s a horrible idea and would give power back to the “extreme” Democrats. Maybe Elon needs to give a thought to the good of the country instead of just his bottom line.

We live in a very scary society right now. What I hear from the democratic party members who are elected representatives in the House and Senate is very disturbing. How did we get so many representatives who openly support socialism and advocate for terrorist organizations? They call honest, hard-working Americans who love our country, stand for freedom and democracy, the enemy. I see it on bumper stickers and hear it in mainstream media news clips. This is getting very old. If these people hate our country so much, they should leave. After serving 22.5 years on active duty and another 17 in the VA, I’m really tired of this nonsense! The GOP must stay united and stand strong in the face of tyranny.

While it would have been interesting had Howard Schultz (the Starbucks executive) entered the 2020 presidential election, I remember the Reform party being a flash in a pan (circa 1992), even though Ross Perot got 20 percent of the vote. Many times, a third party is unfortunately a spoiler, but common sense and where a candidate stands on issues should prevail over having a (D) or (R) after a candidates last name.

Actually, about six weeks before the November 2024 election, there was a sign posted down the street from my local Wal-mart that was clearly visible by many drivers.

The sign said:

“Democrats for Trump”

I think several voters in my state did just that.

Third parties are always a bad idea; our system isn’t set up for that. It splits votes then you get someone who is only liked by 1/3 of the country; and in the direction of recent years, it will be the one who gives out the most free stuff from socialist values. This is not a great idea, not at all.

Elon’s work with DOGE was definitely beneficial and long overdue and I believe he is concerned about the national debt. It’s also readily apparent that the GOP in both houses of Congress is not as effective as the Communists are at negotiating and implementing policy (especially in the Senate). However, 3rd Parties already struggle mightily to gain support and often hand victories to the Communists in national elections, so it would be better for Elon to work within the GOP to effect better policy and governing than found another political party.

I learned my lesson in 1992 when I saw Bush and Clinton as Tweedledum and Tweedledee and was naive enough to vote for Perot. All we Reform Party voters accomplished was to hand the Presidency to Clinton.
The last time a 3rd party accomplished anything was 1860, when the newly-formed Republican Party succeeded. That was only because the Democrats had split into pro-slavery and anti-slavery branches. This is not the time to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

I cannot imagine anything good or positive coming out of Elon’s 3rd Party push. He’s already angered most Leftists and he is viewed as a traitor by much of MAGA. In short, the American Party will Not win elections across the board.
My concern is that this 3rd Party will damage Trump’s coalition to the extent that Dems will gain victories in the Senate and House . This 3rd Party effort might even hand a victory to the Dem presidential candidate. If the Dems control everything, then the USA is gone.

As smart and intelligent as he is, Musk has to end this childish feud with DJT; it’s nothing more than a power struggle and a distraction. Imagine the positive impact that a healthy relationship between two of the smartest men in the world could have on this country. You both really want to help this country, then get over it because a third party won’t fix anything. Let’s move on to Convention of States. I believe 19 states have already approved it, we need 38. We want to move on from the current broken system? This is how we have to do it.

1912 Presidential election
Theadore Rosevelt split from the Republican Party and handed the election to Woodrow Wilson.
Federal Reserve – let the banks print $ and set the interest rate (great idea).
started the spying on American citizens.
Promoted racism.
FTC
Reduced tariffs and raised Income Taxes.
Came up with the League of Nations – latter became the UN.

No one can say for sure that someone else positively would have done better in WW1 but that 3rd party absolutely handed the election to the Democrats.

Elon has probably gone enough to the right that he wouldn’t be able to split the democratic vote so, I am not a fan.

Get back in the fight and help fix what we have!!!

I voted for Ross Purrow when George Bush was running for his 2nd term. I put Bill Clinton in office by taking the votes from Bush. Clinton took 1/2 of my Social Security away for 10 years before they gave it back, with no back pay. My point, the damages from 2 Republicans running splitting the vote gives the election to the Democrats. And it will most certainly affect your pocket book.
I also tend to agree with President Trump about weather forecast. They can’t tell you if it is going to rain in the next three hours, but they can forecast climate change 250 years in the future.
Democrats want power, but have no idea how to govern after they get it. Joe Biden comes to mind. The most senior democrat they had.

“Elon must know, in his heart of hearts, that the likelihood of the success of a third-party venture is slim to none — and those aren’t good odds. Even more than that, he should learn, quickly, from the fact that third-party ventures in the past have failed and have only resulted in even more dire consequences. Yes, we are all grateful for your MAGA endorsement and DOGE accomplishments, but what we don’t need now is to drive contention in and among the current Republican Party. The 2024 election was a hard-fought contest, but Trump prevailed and delivered on his mandate for all Americans. So, please, step back and take a deep breath, Elon. Look long and hard before you leap.”

It’s laughable that this is called a “third” political party, as if the Greens, Socialists, Libertarians, Constitution Party, etc. etc. etc. were chopped liver. This strikes me as an ego project for Musk and the technocrats,

MUSK is addicted to the attention and power of the political campaign. He is frustrated with the reality of politics. This is a form of temper tantrum. He is a brilliant thinker who is frustrated by the constraints of political reality. IF 3RD parties actually worked, the TEA PARTY, would be alive and well today as that very third party. Instead, that group has chosen to take over and revamp the GOP and a form of the Tea Party is MAGA.

Musk’s American Party will only assure that the Dems take over as the majority in both the House and Senate in 2026, and likely win the White House in 2028. Third parties that actually draw significant numbers of voters rarely if ever do more than disrupt elections. And, by the way, we already have a number of “third parties” – Libertarian, Socialist Workers, Green, etc. All having little to no effect on elections at the national level. Musk should apply his political energies to getting out the GOP vote.

I really like Trump and Elon. They both have worked hard against the criminal democrat party. I also understand Elon being upset about not getting all of the evil and wasteful spending that the democrats were responsible for completely out of the bill but we have got to be patient and work to get the rhinos and more democrats out of our government in order to get more of the corrupt spending stopped. I wish that a new party would help but right now it would only help the evil democrat regime to get back in and we absolutely do not need that mess again.I pray Elon right now will work with Trump the next 3 years and work to help get rid of the super mess that the democrats and rhinos have placed us in.

Elon and DJT BOTH have strong personalities and it was only a matter of time until they split. A new party would have ZERO chance of winning any nationwide [or statewide] election. If, by chance, someone won, they’d have to caucus with either the DIMMs or GOP. so what would they have accomplished? Better to work on improving the GOP and supporting state referenda on MAGA issues!
