AMAC Exclusive – By Tammy Bruce

We are already rolling to the end of the first week of 2023. As of this writing, the House GOP is still fighting over who the new Speaker will be. Whether it’s Rep. Kevin McCarthy or someone else from the deep GOP talent bench, once they get their act together and choose their leader, they must hunker down and get to business. While we are often overwhelmed with dumb and dangerous political news, here’s an overview of just how much serious work needs to be done.

One of the major promises made by the Republicans in the lead-up to the midterms was to repeal the Biden administration’s $80 billion funding of the IRS facilitating the hiring of 87,000 new agents. The passing of the omnibus bill, with the help of numerous Republicans in the Senate & House, truly knee-capped that possibility.

Steve Forbes commented on this debacle noting its passage is “exactly the opposite of what Republicans promised. This will provide funds so that the IRS can monitor people’s transactions of as little as $600 — the cost of buying a household appliance or a round-trip airline ticket. Given the abuses of the IRS in recent years, this plan will lead to more harassment of law-abiding citizens…The idea of a tax collection agency with more than 150,000 agents and auditors to snoop on the public is fundamentally at odds with the American ideals of freedom, privacy and prosperity.” Indeed.

It is exactly that sort of collusion by the GOP helping to facilitate the liberal agenda that got us Donald Trump. It’s important the Republicans understand the 2016 election wasn’t a fluke. The House GOP now has an opportunity to show us they mean business and that the American people are the priority.

Unfortunately, the House is relegated to “message legislation,” meaning they really have no chance of passing the Democrat controlled Senate but can send messages to voters about what they stand for. That’s nice, but we also want action.

There are still some things that the new Republicans’ House can get done in the next two years if they’re serious. With their “Commitment to America” proposal, they tell us the economy, immigration, public safety, and parents rights are at the top of the list. Good. But there are a number of other issues hanging in the void about which the American people deserve answers.

Case in point: for some reason, we still do not have an answer about who leaked the SCOTUS draft Dobbs decision. It’s been almost 8 months since Chief Justice Roberts announced an internal investigation into the leak of the decision that overturned Roe vs. Wade. The American people deserve transparency on that shocking betrayal. If there are no repercussions for that act, it will happen again and again. The left is constantly working to undermine the Supreme Court’s legitimacy. Not getting to the bottom of this issue and being transparent about the facts will only further damage trust in SCOTUS and the federal government.

Also worthy of intense investigative focus of the House is the ongoing supply chain crisis which some reports indicate will continue through 2024. Reports also indicate the continuing baby formula shortage in this country will continue at least through spring 2023 as well as shortages of children’s medications and pain relievers. For months, parents have been dealing with empty shelves at pharmacies and even a shortage of children’s antibiotics. All of this is outrageous. The Democrats have been uninterested in finding answers and solutions because they’re the culprits. The GOP must step up.

Three main disasters have been ignored by the Democrats because they’re responsible for them—the Afghanistan catastrophe, the collapse of the southern border, and the destruction of our energy independence during a time of global upheaval and instability. The GOP must seriously investigate all of these issues. And then there’s the origin of COVID and the absolute catastrophic response by our government, producing measures that not only didn’t stop the virus, but instead produced measures that destroyed the economy and people’s lives. It was and is a fiasco of epic proportions and we must have a response ensuring this will never happen again.

While the government was using COVID to expand its totalitarian grip on citizens, via the Twitter Files, we now know the FBI and CIA were colluding with social media and big tech to censor and silence the American people. The GOP must form a select committee to investigate to what degree the federal government colluded with Big Tech in an end-run to violate the constitutional rights of American citizens who expressed criticism, dissent, or simply expressed ideas and shared information that contradicted establishment narratives.

The Republican House may be limited to ‘message legislation,’ but there’s clearly a lot they can do with the resources they now have at their disposal. We must uncover exactly what the Democrats have done to this country while making sure the American people know the details about what these people in Washington have been doing to us. The Democrats and their bureaucratic apparatchiks have worked vigilantly to try to keep Americans in the dark about the damage they’ve been inflicting on our lives. Now is the time to uncover and declare exactly who’s been setting this country on fire.

After all of the infighting over the speaker election how can we expect any solidarity on future legislation? There are always RINO deserters!

I know… the first pieces of legislation should be tort reform and term limits. That would inspire Americans to believe that politicians of any stripe are working for something other than a big bank roll and a career on the backs of us… the lowly tax payers

Plenty of issues in an understatement. How much “political correctness” will play into this? How much GOP being “nice” will play into this? Time will write this story.

“The new Republicans’ House can get done in the next two years if they’re serious.” You just summed up the current situation in one sentence. The RNC is just intent on playing politics, not solving our problems. Just about every one of the RNC members is far more intent on advancing or maintaining their political careers than they are about actually fighting for our nation’s well-being. I’ll never forget Bob Dole’s response to a reporter way back when he was running for president. The reporter ask him why he should be chosen to rune for the office and become the next president. His answered was “Because it’s my turn.”

McCarthy did not help himself much by his actions & statements on Jan 6th & then going to MarLago to meet with Trump a week later & after that more or less saying Jan 5 was no big deal. This was a big deal in history of United States of America.

Whether any of these issues will get tackled, and most importantly tackled to the benefit and satisfaction of the American people will depend largely on who will be Speaker of the House. McCarthy’s track record has clearly shown that he is nothing but a RINO carbon copy of Mitch McConnell and that he will pursue business as usual regardless of whatever conservative noises he is currently making. McCarthy is not about the American people’s business, McCarthy is first and foremost always about himself, the status quo, and the agenda of the Washington, D.C. Uniparty that has “loftier” goals, and ambitions than to serve the American people. As soon as McCarthy stops his arrogant display of a sense of entitlement, selfishness, and sheer narcissism, and steps aside the Republican party will be able to get down to the people’s business and stop at least the worst parts of the Biden agenda. How many times will McCarthy have to hear NO before he does the right thing?

Just like your saying a Red wave is comming for the mid term elections, didn’t happen. All these great ideas that the Republican congress could do, will not happen, because there are to many different people trying to come to one cause, not likely to happen, or even brought up.

And, once the criminals have been found, PUT OUT THAT FIRE!! What they have done to us and to our country by weaponizing rule of law (DOJ) and deputizing the social media monsters should never happen again.

Write legislation, rules, and regulations with extremely strong consequences for breaking the law, and follow through. No politician or tech guy is above the law. Haul their assets in front of the courts and investigating committees, and prosecute every little detail. In other words, let justice prevail.

Well at least this article is far more honest about the scope of what the GOP led House can truly do in 2023 after McConnell sold out the American people with his support of the $1.7 trillion dollar omnibus spending bill. So thumbs up for being honest to the author. No rose-colored glasses this time around.

As to the Supreme Court leak issue mentioned, given there are only 36 clerks to be interviewed by the authorities, it is pretty clear there is a lot of official foot dragging from law enforcement with the hope the public just forgets about the whole thing. Also we can’t rule out the progressive Supreme Court Justices, who may have leaked their advance copy themselves to the press. Not sure a GOP led committee in the House would be able to get any real answers on this subject. As I can’t see any of the current Supreme Court Justices agreeing to testify under oath voluntarily. Any attempt to go the subpoena route of a sitting SC Justice, to force an appearance before the House and testify under oath would be a ground-breaking event that is for sure. I SC clerks would be a much easier proposition. Still this is no doubt quite a ways off given the long list of issues and topics the GOP House has promised to do.

As to the whole symbolic “messaging legislation” approach, honestly the GOP House members can just have their staffs crank out these bills, while the House members just focus on doing the hearings. That is how most members of the House want to spend their time anyway. As each bill is finished by their staffs, they can have a quick vote to pass the bill and it will, as the author correctly states, go to the Democrat controlled Senate where it will die. So this can be a pretty automated process all in all.

Since McConnell basically neutered the GOP on any new legislation, the only thing that can go forward in Congress is investigation and exposure of the numerous crimes against the people and the never ending assault on truth. That must include exposure of traitors with the GOP as well. I know it’s a big ask, because the cover-ups are easily as elaborate as the crimes themselves. It will take courage and conviction against the real possibility of murderous retaliation from the swamp, but if the GOP can’t make some serious progress in this area, we will be forever at the mercy of one party totalitarian rule. The America we once knew will be lost!

The GOP will not repeal funding to hire more IRS agents. This action is done. The GOP talks a good story but its actions show the opposite. The GOP will do nothing to repeal this effort since it does not have the power or the will to do so. The GOP wants to be the minority party. It does not want to lead. Donald Trump was the first GOP President in a long time that fought for his program among a hostile Democratic Party which had no intention of working with him. Also many Republicans did not work with Trump. Trump succeeded which really surprised me since he was a Washington outsider. He knows how to run an organization and achieve results. I do not expect the Republicans to do much. When I saw George H. W. Bush supporting Hillary Clinton for President I knew the Republicans did not believe in the message they preach. In the end, they will lose their tiny majority in the House in the next General Election. The bottom line is the GOP does not want to work in unison to accomplish great things for the United States. Leadership is stepping out in boldness to achieve positive results. The GOP will not show leadership and will continue to play second fiddle behind the Democrats.

Sometime around midnight last night, McCarthy got the nod for Speaker of the House, done, be it for better or for worse…One proposal that came up recently & too little too late in either case, was for Trump to become Speaker of the House on a 100 day temporary basis with the option for an extension as proposed by Steve Bannon. Had something like this actually happened as surely it didn’t, I do believe the ” rats “, i.e. the Democrat Socialists & the GOP RINO’s would be fleeing the sinking ship in rapid fashion, hence the cleanup of The House of Representatives would commence in short order, i.e. YOURE FIRED!
As it stands currently, patriotic Americans are stuck with ( 2 ) of the worst politicians running the show, another one from CA again, McCarthy & the other one from the east coast, McConnell, NOTHING gets past these (2) RINO’s, expect more of the same, talk, talk, talk, nothing changes…
Lastly, anything coming out of the GOP majority, ( barely ) gets tossed by the Democrat controlled Senate, Washington, DC continues on as the dysfunctional institution it has become & once again, the American people are left holding the bag & once again, the World is watching it all unfold yet again…
Bill… :~)

Now that McCarthy has won the Speakership job we can all rest assured the Republicans will deliver in their usual fashion, i.e. all talk and no action. There will be the usual useless investigations costing taxpayers tens of millions of dollars but, in the end, no one will be held accountable. If it even begins to smell like the Republicans will accomplish anything of significance, we can rest assured the usual cast of RINO’s will vote against the action. In other words, we have 2 more years of Republican ineptitude to deal with. On a positive note, the Republican’s slim majority might help to slow the Demorats push to destroy America.

Stick to investigating COVID and the Border. Millions illegally entering the US… think some just might be fleeing cartel since Mexico cracked down on El Chapos replacement? The House can’t arrest anyone and Herr M. Garland is too busy leveling paybaxk for not being SCOTUS to actually seek justice. No one will be held accountable for Afghanistan anymore than Benghazi. Biden will not be charged anymore than Hillary being “locked up”! Hunter will skate because the Democrat party that condemns “white privilege” epitomizes it. I saw Swanson casseroles at the grocery going for $18 when two years ago they used to be $12… fix that and I’ll say Republicans “did something”!

From the moment their party was born, they’ve done nothing but, in lock-step with Republicans in Name Only (RINOs) worked to destroy, hamstring and minimalize America and the health and general welfare of Americans. And everything they’ve done over the past decade At Least has been to give everything we’ve worked for all of our lives to illegal aliens. Just look at our Southern Border. It’s a disgrace! We need an Amendment to our Constitution. It should make it MANDATORY that every single bill be read aloud On The Floor. And everything IN that bill, which it want to give to or take away from any one or anything, should be looked up in our Constitution, showing Exactly where it says that government can do it. Our 10th Amendment states that, Specifically. Because brothers & sisters, just because they pass it into law, doesn’t mean it’s Lawful. “All laws repugnant to the Constitution is null & void as if never written.” Marbury v. Madison 1803 … If you know the law, you know where our government oversteps it’s bounds of Authority. They think every American is stupid. Just ask them. 118th Congress !! If you want to fix The Swamp, nullify all illegal laws which are killing our country. If you don’t, you’re just as crooked as the Commiecrats.

Congrats on the 20 great fighters! and now that is over, lets do the business of the people.

The only way to inform the American public about all the harm that the political ‘left’ has inflicted on our country & its people, is to hold the Media (TV, radio, newspapers, and online especially) accountable to the laws of libel & slander. Letting them hide behind the 1st Amendment is no longer acceptable, nor viable. The 1st Amendment was NEVER intended to provide an excuse for disreputable, scheming members of the press & other organizations to betray our citizens for monetary gain & power. There are laws; we must have the courage to enforce them.

Don’t talk about “investigations” like they’re the panacea for what’s been going on. We know who & why they’re doing what they’re doing. They are so far ahead of the saps in the GOP it’s not even funny. There surely are defense mechanisms buried in the thousands upon thousands of pages of legalize BS that comprise their megalithic bills. Those measures will ensure their destructive work is preserved despite the weak attempts the GOP might actually embark on to get rid of them.

The Leftists will not go away and will not stop unless we rid ourselves of them. And “elections” have proven Not to be the solution.

Don’t lose sight of the fact that the GOP only has a narrow majority in the House, does not have a Senate majority, does not sit in the White House. Consequently, they may be able to stop some legislative efforts by the left (in the apparently unlikely event of united action) but they cannot pass legislation into law. Reversing that absurd spending law is a pipe dream.
