The Senate confirmed an experienced federal prosecutor, Colin McDonald, Tuesday afternoon to act as the Justice Department’s anti-fraud division lead.
In a party-line vote, McDonald was confirmed 52-47 to be the first assistant attorney general for national fraud enforcement at the DOJ.
McDonald will work with Vice President JD Vance, whom President Donald Trump named the White House “fraud czar” to lead a new task force to eliminate fraud.
Trump created the new DOJ division to “catch and stop FRAUDSTERS that have been STEALING from the American People,” he wrote on Truth Social.
“Colin is an experienced, skilled, and tough prosecutor who will continue doing incredible work to root out fraud across America,” Attorney General Pam Bondi wrote, congratulating McDonald on his confirmation. “President Trump made an outstanding choice.”
McDonald has served as a top aide to the second in command at the DOJ for the past year. Prior to coming to Washington, he served as a federal prosecutor.
As massive fraud in Minnesota and California has been brought to light this year, the administration has created new efforts to root out schemes that rip off the American taxpayer.
Just a few days prior to McDonald’s confirmation, the White House put out details on the administration’s fraud task force Vance is leading. Chairman of the Federal Trade Commission Andrew Ferguson will also have a leadership role.
“President Trump is restoring the integrity of taxpayer-funded safety-net programs that have been exploited by illegal aliens, criminals, foreign gangs, bureaucrats, and non-governmental organizations,” the White House release read.
“The Government Accountability Office estimates that as much as $500 billion in federal funds is lost each year to fraud,” Majority Leader John Thune, R-S.D., said on the Senate floor this week.
“The American people are being robbed and they know it,” Senate Majority Whip John Barrasso, R-Wyo., said on the floor Tuesday. “They see waste. They see fraud. They see abuse. They see corruption. They are sick and tired of it.”
“Americans are fed up with welfare criminals and the elected officials who tolerate them. Democrats in big cities and liberal states look the other way. The criminals know it,” Barrasso warned.

Americans, especially Conservative Americans, NEED to see an END to the two-tiered criminal justice system that allows Democrat politicians and government employees escape accountability for behaviors and actions that run counter to what our Founders built for the American Citizen. I’m grateful that this function of government is being established, but We The People needs to see prosecutions and PUNISHMENTS that will effectively deter future criminality.
The fact the votes were straight down Party lines, speaks loud and clear to the character and values of each Party.
The three things necessary for Democrats to win in elections are FRAUD, FOREIGNERS and CHEATING. This is a positive step in eliminating one of those, the S.A.V.E. act will stop the cheating and ICE is the third. God help America to succeed in stopping the progressive left from destroying America.
Thanks should also go out to the independent reporters who are exposing this fraud and corruption. Facing the risk of being assaulted (or worse), it takes a lot of courage to infiltrate the rings and confront the corrupt scumbags on camera.
Interesting how 47 DIMMs voted AGAINST reining in fraud! That should tell everyone something. John Solomon discovered that $350 million in CASH was in possession of Somalis flying out of Minneapolis-St. Paul airport in just a few years. You can transport cash but must fill out a form stating the amount [but no REASON].
It will take years to end all this fraud, it’s rooted so deep for so many years, if they can only dent it a little, it will be much $!!!

Anti fraud division lead is not going to lead anywhere if there are no arrests and charges brought up against those enabling the cheating and theft. Start with them, they are the cause, actual cheaters are only a consequence. Man will take an opportunity, if given a chance.

After reading this story for Mr McDonald I have to ask if two guys already in Congress and being Republican/s John Thune R from S.D. and John Barrasso R from Wyo.said they have seen this fraud over the years do something about it then.They like so many Republicans and Democrats only thinking of way to make their lives better,hear nothing see nothing,say nothing all of them.

Exceedingly timely. We receive 6-20 fraudulent telephone calls every day. These are just the “foam” on top of the ocean of major fraud happening in this nation.
Stopping fraud in the future would be a great accomplishment, but how can we get anything back? If we can convict the fraudsters, can’t we freeze all their assets and sell them off and put the funds back in the treasury? Maybe we could actually put a dent in the national debt. But I have never heard of this happening.
Why did 47% vote against. Is he really unqualified? I think not, probably TDS.

Congratulations Mr. McDonald. Prayers every day to restore honesty and order to our country. How is it possible that all of this happened? Accountability has clearly been missing. Too many people with titles and responsibilities who did not have the where-with-all to protect our country, who were paid large amounts of money, reaped amazing benefits, but lacked ability to bring ‘closure’ to important issues which Americans desperately have been looking for. The legal process has been broken and abused by many. I was an innocent victim of years past from Mueller and his team. They destroyed my family and there was no one who could stop it. Abuse of power has been rampant in our country far too long. The abuses against citizens in the past had no place to go for help. Only the wealthy and powerful were able to fight back. Victims of the past will likely never see any restoration or justice until the ultimate day of reckoning comes for us all. God Bless you and your team.

Thanks for the effort, President Trump/Vice President Vance. Now this sharp prosecutor has his work laid out for him. I want dollars back, politicians involved, made to pay back, as they allowed this situation to go on and on. I want to also see some “perp” walks, and name names. Jail is too good for them, take all their holdings, including pensions of politicians. We the people want dollars restored.. So far all we get, are sad news.
The Congress should balance the Federal budget and STOP giving the States (federal grants in-aid tax money! Make the States accountable to balance their own budgets…………………We are 40 TRILLION in the hole, folks………………..

Why hasn’t the government had watchdog for fraud all the time. Why is this a new thing now that needs the VP to head up; ? I think that this should fall under the FBI & the DOJ and monitor for fraud all the time just like IRS must be doing. Trump claims that if he gets rid of all fraud then he can balance the budget, so this is important.
It seems we have another strong defender of freedom from President Trump. I guess now it’s time for the socialist/democrats to start the character assassination they are so known for. As well as all the finger pointing they are so good at.

Ok, we have a task force to eliminate fraud. When are we going to prosecute fraud at the political level? Sending the low hanging fruit to prison is not enough. If Trump is really serious we should see a bunch of politicians at all levels going to prison. Stop giving corrupt politicians a pass on corruption. Every blue state is infested with scamming self serving Mayors, Governors, City Councils and School boards. The deep state in our federal government is alive and well and Trump has done nothing to clean it out.
He won’t arrest anyone either. Pam Bondi won’t let him. You know why.
