Ten More Times Team Trump Owned the Media

Back in March, AMAC Newsline published 10 of the most viral moments where President Trump and his top advisors left the corporate media with their jaws on the floor. Here are 10 more such flashes of brilliance worth recalling.

1. Marco Rubio schools reporter on green cards

Earlier this year, elected Democrats and the liberal media were apoplectic over the Trump administration’s detention of Mahmoud Khalil, a foreign student accused of instigating antisemitic harassment and intimidation at Columbia University.

During one press conference following Khalil’s arrest, a reporter accused Secretary of State Marco Rubio of violating the First Amendment by revoking Mahmoud’s green card. But as Rubio was quick to explain, no one has a “right” to a green card, and the First Amendment does not protect threats and vandalism.

“If you tell us when you apply, “Hi, I’m trying to get into the United States on a student visa, I am a big supporter of Hamas murderous barbaric group that kidnaps children that rapes teenage girls,” if you tell us that you are in favor of a group like this when you applied for a visa, we would deny your visa,” Rubio said.

“This is not about free speech – this is about people that don’t have a right to be in the United States to begin with. No one has a right to a student visa. No one has a right to a green card. So when you apply for a student visa or any visa to enter the United States, we have a right to deny you for virtually any reason.”

2. Doug Collins blasts media for basing reporting on rumors

Back in March, the corporate media was attempting to spin up a story that the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) was negatively impacting services for veterans at the Department of Veterans Affairs. But VA Secretary Doug Collins was having none of it.

“I just need your help because when you start headlines with ‘There’s a rumor going around’ and that ‘we’ve heard that,’ that hurts my veterans. That scares my veterans. That scares my employees. Because it’s not true. Will you commit to not doing that in the future?” Collins said to Military.com reporter Patricia Kime during a sit-down interview.

“I have a VA employee who is our DOGE liaison,” Collins added. “You knew that, and you could ask that question. Nobody hid that from you. Nobody. We answered it, but it was reported as a rumor.”

3. Tom Homan drops the mic on corporate media about “old laws”

As the Trump administration ramped up deportations, immigration advocates criticized the use of the 1798 Alien Enemies Act to expedite removals. During an interview outside the White House, one reporter asked Trump immigration czar Tom Homan what he says to “those who claim you are using a 200-year-old law to circumvent due process.”

“An old law?” Homan asked. “It’s not as old as the Constitution, and we still pay attention to that don’t we?”

4. Stephen Miller spikes the ball on Kilmar Abrego Garcia deportation

During an Oval Office meeting, Trump fielded a question from a reporter on Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a suspected MS-13 gang member the administration deported back to El Salvador. The left made Abrego Garcia a cause célèbre, and multiple congressional Democrats traveled to El Salvador to meet with him.

Trump directed the reporter to White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, who surgically dismantled the premise of the reporter’s question.

“He’s a citizen of El Salvador, so it’s very arrogant for American media to suggest that we would even tell El Salvador how to handle their own citizens,” Miller said. “Two immigration courts found that he was a member of MS-13. When president Trump declared MS-13 to be a foreign terrorist organization, that meant that he was no longer eligible under federal law for any form of immigration relief in the United States.”

“So, we had a deportation order that was valid, which meant that under our law he’s not even allowed to be present in the United States and had to be returned because of the foreign terrorist designation.”

5. Stephen Miller torches the media again on defending MS-13 terrorist

The Kilmar Abrego Garcia saga produced plenty of viral moments from Trump officials eviscerating the media for its coverage of the incident. After his Oval Office takedown, Miller seized another opportunity to blast the media from the White House Press Briefing Room.

“It is a sad reflection on the state of our media and many of the outlets represented in this room that you obsessively try to shill for this MS-13 terrorist,” Miller said. “No coverage occurred in your papers about any of the Americans that were raped and tortured and murdered by the illegals that Biden was importing into our country… Each and every one of you that sides over and over again with these MS-13 terrorists. But to the extent that you have the financial means to do so, you all choose to live in condos or homes or houses as far away from these kinds of gang bangers as you possibly can.”

6. Karoline Leavitt sets the record straight on media’s “father of the year” narrative

Immediately following Kilmar Abrego Garcia’s deportation, the media began a campaign to portray the suspected gang member as a hard-working, law-abiding citizen and devoted father. But during a press briefing, Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt brought the receipts to dispel that narrative.

“Based on the sensationalism of many of the people in this room, you would think we deported a candidate for father of the year,” Leavitt said. As she goes on to explain, “Abrego Garcia was never an innocent ‘Maryland Man’– Abrego Garcia is an illegal alien terrorist, gang member, and human trafficker who has spent his entire life abusing innocent people, especially women and the most vulnerable.”

7. Trump calls out ABC reporter on network’s cover-up of Biden’s cognitive decline

During an interview with ABC’s Terry Moran in April, Trump called out the network’s cover-up of Joe Biden’s cognitive decline.

“Do you think the reputation of the United States has gone down under your presidency?” Moran asked Trump.

“No. I think it’s gone way up,” Trump responded. “I think we’re a respected country again. We were laughed at all over the world. We had a president who couldn’t walk up a flight of stairs, couldn’t walk down a flight of stairs, couldn’t walk across the stage without falling. We had a president who was grossly incompetent. You knew it, I knew it, and everybody knew it, but you guys didn’t want to write it because you’re fake news. By the way, ABC is one of the worst. I have to be honest with you.”

8. Trump snaps back on plane gift from Qatar

Last month, the left turned their ire toward Trump’s acceptance of a jet from Qatar to be used as Air Force One.

“What do you say to people who view that luxury jet as a personal gift to you?” one reporter asked.

“You’re ABC fake news, right?” Trump retorted. “Let me tell you – you should be embarrassed asking that question. They’re giving us a free jet…  when they give you a putt, you pick it up and you walk to the next hole.”

9. Trump tees off on reporter for trying to change the subject from murders of white farmers in South Africa

During an Oval Office meeting with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, an NBC reporter tried to change the subject from the racially motivated murders of white South African farmers to the Qatari jet. Trump had just shown a video exposing the systematic targeting of white farmers that the media denied was happening and refused to allow the reporters in the room to ignore it.

“You know you gotta get out of here – what does this have to do with the Qatari jet?” Trump said. “It’s NBC trying to get off the subject of what you just saw – go back to your studio. And NBC, they are so terrible the way they run that network and you’re a disgrace. No more questions from you.”

10. Karoline Leavitt confirms that there are indeed stupid questions

In response to the anti-ICE riots in LA, Democrats and the media have suggested that President Trump’s decision to deploy the National Guard after local law enforcement was overwhelmed was an attack on free speech and the right to peaceably assemble. One reporter even went so far as to ask White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt if Trump supports peaceful protest.

“Of course the president supports peaceful protests. What a stupid question,” Leavitt retorted. Enough said.

If the first few months of President Trump’s second term are any indication, there are sure to be plenty more media “owns” over the next four years. We’ll continue to keep you up to date.
