Netflix in Crisis as Subscribers Flee Over Woke Kids Shows

Parents across the country are canceling Netflix after revelations that the streaming giant promotes sexual content and pushes radical left gender ideology through shows made for kids.

The uproar began after the popular social media account Libs of TikTok posted a clip from “Dead End: Paranormal Park,” a Netflix cartoon rated TV-Y7 (for kids aged seven and older) that follows a gay, Jewish, transgender boy who runs away from home after his grandmother rejects his “identity.” He then waxes poetic about the importance of “living your life without apology.”

The clip quickly went viral on X. Musk reposted it to his 227 million followers with the comment, “This is not OK,” before urging parents to “Cancel Netflix for the health of your kids.” Within hours, the hashtag #CancelNetflix trended nationwide as thousands of users shared screenshots of canceled subscriptions.

The outrage only continued to grow after screenshots surfaced showing the show’s creator, Hamish Steele, referring to slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk as a “Nazi.”

“Paranormal Park” was canceled after two seasons, but it remains available on Netflix Kids. For many parents, the controversy confirmed long-held suspicions that radical left-wing ideology has seeped into programming aimed at even the youngest cohort of viewers.

Over the following days, independent media outlets and watchdogs dug up more Netflix programs marketed to children that advance left-wing sexual and gender ideology under the banner of “diversity” and “representation.”

One of the most cited examples is “Ada Twist, Scientist,” produced by former President and First Lady Barack and Michelle Obama’s company, Higher Ground. The animated series, rated TV-Y and promoted as suitable for all ages, includes an episode in which children organize a gay wedding between two male friends named Sensei Dave and Jiu Jitsu Joe.

Another show, “CoComelon Lane,” a preschool spinoff of one of Netflix’s most popular franchises, features a young boy who puts on a tutu and tiara to dance for his two dads. In the episode, one father tells him, “Just be you.” Many social media users noted how disturbing it was that the cartoon showed two men encouraging a young boy to effectively perform in drag for them.

In “Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling,” a reboot of the 1990s Nickelodeon cartoon, the storyline introduces a transgender character aimed at younger viewers.

“Jurassic Park: Camp Cretaceous,” an animated spinoff of the famous 1993 Steven Spielberg film, also aimed at young children, features a lesbian couple embracing and kissing as other characters cheer in the background.

In “Transformers Earthspark,” yet another kids’ show aimed at seven-year-olds, one character says, “I know I’m safe when I’m with my friends or other non-binary people,” explaining that non-binary means “people who aren’t female or male.”

“What a wonderful word for a wonderful experience,” another character responds.

“Monster High: The Movie,” which is streaming on Netflix in the U.K., features characters introducing themselves by “they/them” pronouns.

Netflix’s diversity initiative, the Fund for Creative Equity, pushes the same agenda behind the scenes. The program funds the Transgender Film Center, which finances and mentors trans-identifying filmmakers. According to the center’s own materials, its 2024 fellows include creators who describe their work as “force-feminizing bigoted men.”

For many parents, these revelations confirm that Netflix no longer functions simply as a streaming service for family entertainment. The company now uses children’s programming to promote left-wing social activism and indoctrinate children into gender ideology.

This isn’t the first time Netflix has faced accusations of sexualizing minors. In 2020, the company drew global condemnation for the film “Cuties,” which depicted preteen girls in explicit dance scenes. Netflix defended the film as “social commentary,” but the backlash prompted droves of canceled subscriptions and stained the company’s reputation.

Netflix’s corporate leadership reinforces the notion that its political bias is intentional. Its Vice President of Inclusion Strategy, Wade Davis, a former Obama campaign surrogate and NFL “LGBT inclusion consultant,” has posted that “trans folks understand they are being treated differently from how they identify between the ages of 3 and 5” and that “adults force gender on kids from birth.”

Netflix’s board also includes Susan Rice, the former Obama national security adviser tied to the Benghazi and Russiagate scandals. Meanwhile, Charles Rivkin, another Obama official, now chairs the Motion Picture Association, which influences Netflix’s age ratings.

The backlash against Netflix has led to serious financial consequences. As of market close on October 6, the company’s stock was down 3.57 percent over the preceding five days and 6.54 percent over the past month. Those declines erased roughly $41 billion in market value. The company’s capitalization plunged by $15 billion in just days as the boycott gained momentum online.

Each cancellation sends a market signal that families still care about moral boundaries. For years, corporate elites have lectured consumers with woke nonsense while assuming they could never lose them. Now, the same market they exploited for activism is turning against them.
