Former President Joe Biden’s doctor refused to testify before Congress in a closed-door interview Wednesday citing doctor-patient privilege and his Fifth Amendment rights. The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee issued a subpoena for him last month to testify about the 46th president’s declining health throughout his term.
Kevin O’Connor, who served as Biden’s physician while in the White House, had his legal counsel provide a statement on his behalf. His attorneys explained in the statement that they advised him not to speak before Congress because of the “unique circumstances of this deposition.” O’Connor showed up to Capitol Hill as required by Congress but left less than an hour into the interview without answering any questions.
In their statement, O’Connor’s attorneys quoted President Donald Trump as stating that only “an absolute fool” would not use his Fifth Amendment rights. The quote was in reference to New York Attorney General Letitia James launching a controversial investigation into the president’s businesses that he referred to as a “witch hunt.”
House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) blasted O’Connor for refusing to testify in a post on X.
“It’s now clear there was a conspiracy to cover up President Biden’s cognitive decline after Dr. Kevin O’Connor, Biden’s physician and family business associate, refused to answer any questions and chose to hide behind the Fifth Amendment,” Comer said. “The American people demand transparency, but Dr. O’Connor would rather conceal the truth. Dr. O’Connor took the Fifth when asked if he was told to lie about President Biden’s health and whether he was fit to be President of the United States.”
In the letter accompanying O’Connor’s subpoena in June, Comer explained that the committee wanted to know if the doctor’s “financial relationship” with Biden’s family affected his assessment of the former president’s “physical and mental fitness to fulfill his duties as President.” Comer said that the purpose of O’Connor’s testimony was to determine if he “contributed to an effort to hide former President Biden’s fitness to serve from the American people.”
The committee is currently investigating Biden’s mental health as president. As part of this investigation, Comer has also asked other top Biden administration officials to speak before Congress, including former White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain, Senior Advisor Anita Dunn, and Counselor to the President Steve Ricchetti.
Conservative radio host Clay Travis argued on X that the coverup of Biden’s health should be treated similar to how Democrats treated the people who participated in the January 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol.
“There should be prime time hearings on the Biden health cover up just like Democrats did for January 6th,” Travis said. “Make every station cover it live. Put every staff member and the doctor under oath. Grill them for their lies and the cover up. Do it in August when nothing else is on TV.”
The committee has additional ongoing investigations into Biden as well. Comer is leading investigations into the Biden family’s business dealings, the Biden family’s influence peddling, and the border crisis during the Biden administration.

Last I checked the members of the United States Armed Forces who refused the unproven, and untested COVID shots that were forced upon them by said president were not granted such privilege, the president of the United States of America also happens to be the commander in chief of said troops, and should therefore should also be denied patient doctor privilege, his doctor of course can plead the fifth but his records, since he was paid on U.S. taxpayer dime belong to the people of the United States of America, and since this was, and is a matter of national security these records should be seized by congress, evaluated, and should what we all know be verified, the doctor should be brought up on charges of conspiracy and insurrection for covering up the mental incapacity of Biden to enable an unelected group of democrats to usurp presidential power, and violate the rights of the people and the Constitution of the United States. This is a clear cut and dry matter of restoring the rule of law after these last 4 years of democrat anarchy.
Doesn’t come as a surprise to anyone who has lived during the last four year nightmare. What I am wondering is what Congress thought they would learn that is not already known. The entire previous administration was a dog and pony show to bring in more illegals for votes and to advance their sick alphabet ideology. Congress needs to move on and start working feverishly to erase those policies and make sure the democraps do not regain majority in mid term elections.
I remember during the 2020 election what a big deal the Biden campaign made about the necessity to publish President Trump’s medical record and income tax documentation. For all we know any favorable record of Biden’s health was strictly a pencil whip. I think for that doctor it’s damned if he does testify and damned if he doesn’t. He was lying them and he’d have to incriminate himself if the truth be told now. Thank god that stinking crook Biden is out of the white house.
Joe Biden’s mental health was so bad, he didn’t know where he was most of the time. Dr. O’connor was dishonest and went along with everything to try and fool the American people. He is a liar, but there were so many liars around Biden. His wife Dr. Jill should be ashamed of herself, but she is not. I like the suggestion by Clay Travis that we need to make this an issue that won’t go away until the American people learn who truly was the President during the entirety of his four year debacle. I would love to see how Fake News squirms while they spin it.
I understand the need for solid evidence via admission from the doctor. I also understand the importance of doctor-patient confidentiality. However, this is a case of national security, as it involves determining the damage Biden’s cognitive health has caused this country over the past four years, so we can reverse and hopefully remediate some of that damage.
That speaks the volumes, does it not? As if we need a doctor to tell us what a blind could see. He served the purpose.

I would be happier if they investigate the auto pen signature to see if was really Joe Biden’s signature. It has been strongly suggested that the auto pen signature wasn’t Joe’s. If that can be proven all laws and pardons issued by auto pen could easily be reversed and done away with.

When you are the doctor monitoring the POTUS, any mental health concerns should be brought to the attention of the public at large. The fact that the doctor was willing to allow Biden to run for another term, tells you that he didn’t care about Joe Biden’s health, he was only concerned with answering to another master that was controlling the power. He should actually lose his medical license for what he did, or didn’t do.

As much as I loath Biden and his administration, as an attorney I must respectfully agree with his attorney. Attorney/client, Clergy/penitent, doctor/patient, all privileged communications. Barring some showing of collusion in a crime it is written in stone. Start somewhere else. I hate the Bidens for what they did to this country, but I am not willing to jeopardize anyone’s rights where there should be enough other people who can provide sufficient proof of his decline implicating the doctor in a conspiracy, fraud, collusion, or out right misleading information. Biden is now a private person. It is his right to waive, not his doctors.
HIPAA…..If medical information is released by the doctor without the approval of Joe Biden or any of Biden’s designated people for his medical care, then there is a possibility there will be a lawsuit. That’s exactly what we don’t need to hear about, Joe Biden and family getting rich off some one else. Biden and family have already pocketed plenty of money, from taxpayers or from other countries. Or both! Yes, I want to hear good, honest answers from the doctor, but not if it’s going to make the Biden family any money.
