America's seniors have spent a lifetime paying into Medicare and deserve confidence that their healthcare dollars are being used to provide quality care—not enrich fraudsters and bad actors. Yet Medicare fraud continues to cost taxpayers billions of dollars every year, while dishonest providers exploit loopholes in hospice and home health programs at the expense of vulnerable seniors.

H.R. 8883, the Protecting Seniors and Stopping Fraudsters Act, strengthens oversight of hospice providers and home health agencies, increases accountability, and gives federal agencies additional tools to identify and prevent fraud before seniors are harmed. The legislation enhances screening requirements for high-risk providers, increases inspections of newly enrolled agencies, strengthens accreditation standards, and improves transparency for Medicare beneficiaries. 

This is a commonsense reform that protects both taxpayers and patients. Fraud and abuse drain resources from programs that seniors rely on while driving up costs for everyone. H.R. 8883 focuses on rooting out waste, fraud, and abuse, safeguarding Medicare's long-term sustainability, and ensuring that healthcare providers are held accountable when they misuse taxpayer dollars.
