White House Launches “TrumpRx” to Lower Prescription Costs

In a decisive move that the White House is calling “the most impactful prescription price reset in the history of our country,” President Donald Trump has officially launched TrumpRx, a new federal prescription-drug platform designed to dramatically lower out-of-pocket prices for American patients. The website, now live at TrumpRx.gov, allows consumers to purchase select brand-name medications at “most-favored-nation” (MFN) prices — meaning Americans will pay no more than the lowest price offered in other developed nations.

For decades, Americans have borne the burden of paying far more for the exact same medicines sold overseas at a fraction of the cost. TrumpRx directly addresses that imbalance by securing agreements with major pharmaceutical manufacturers and passing those savings straight to consumers.

The platform currently features dozens of widely used medications — including GLP-1 drugs such as Ozempic and Wegovy — at steeply reduced prices. Patients can purchase these medicines directly, either paying cash at participating pharmacies or through manufacturer portals, bypassing traditional middlemen that have long increased costs.

The initial rollout includes agreements with AstraZeneca, Eli Lilly, EMD Serono, Novo Nordisk, and Pfizer. According to the White House, the launch delivers “massive price reductions on 40 of the most popular and expensive branded medicines in the nation,” with more manufacturers expected to join in the coming weeks.

The savings are striking. The fertility treatment Cetrotide has dropped from $316 to just $22.50. Bevespi Aerosphere, used to treat chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, has fallen from $458 to $51. Eucrisa, prescribed for atopic dermatitis, has declined from $792 to $158. These are transformational reductions for families who rely on these treatments.

President Trump emphasized the historic nature of the initiative during last week’s announcement.

“For years, politicians from both parties have promised to bring down prescription drug prices and make health care more affordable, but they all failed. It was all words as usual… But I’m actually getting it done,” Trump said. “This launch represents the largest reduction in prescription drug prices in history by many, many times.”

MFN pricing has been a cornerstone of Trump’s healthcare agenda since returning to office. In May of last year, he signed an executive order directing Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to facilitate direct-to-consumer purchasing programs at MFN prices. TrumpRx operationalizes that directive, creating a streamlined pathway for Americans to access fair, globally competitive pricing without bureaucratic delay.

Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz underscored the structural reform behind the effort.

“We’re no longer going to pay multiple times more for the exact same drug made by the same factories — often here in America — than they pay in Europe,” Dr. Oz explained. He further noted that the administration used every available negotiating tool to secure these agreements and ensure the best possible prices for patients.

The White House has indicated that additional pharmaceutical companies are in advanced discussions to join the platform, with the goal of rapidly expanding the number of discounted medications available through TrumpRx. The administration is also working to integrate TrumpRx purchases more seamlessly with health plans in the future.

President Trump has also called on Congress to pass his broader “Great Healthcare Plan,” which would codify MFN savings into federal law, enhance price transparency, lower insurance premiums, and allow TrumpRx purchases to count toward insurance coverage and deductibles. If enacted, the plan would further cement these reforms and protect them for generations to come.

For millions of seniors, working families, and patients living on fixed incomes, TrumpRx represents more than a website — it is a long-overdue correction to a broken system. By confronting global price disparities head-on and putting American patients first, the Trump administration has taken a major step toward restoring fairness and affordability in healthcare. If the early results are any indication, TrumpRx marks the beginning of a new era in which Americans finally stop subsidizing the rest of the world’s prescription drug costs and start enjoying the affordable care they deserve.

Finally American citizens are being treated like their European counterparts. Human beings. America was good to support cheap medications for the Europeans. Like we were good enough to liberate them from the German tyranny in WWII and still today to protect them from the Russian threats. They are not grateful. All other presidents thought it okay for big Pharma to charge high prices in America. After all they were all getting high bonuses for that stance. Pocahontas and Sanders got millions from Pfizer for their support to keep prices high. They talked about it. But never got the prices lower. Just one of those campaign promises that held no water once they were elected. Trump promises made promises kept, and still they hate the man. I wonder if they take advantage of these lower prices or are they plunking down the high prices. I think the former. Will it get them to stop whining? Of course not ever met a satisfied democrat?

Past presidents and worthless CONGRESS talked it to get elected and afterwards NOTHING. Cuz they couldn’t care less what we slaves hafta pay, while their costs are either very cheap or free (we are probably subsidizing THEIR meds too). But note they were all-in for ObamaCare, that pirated our health care costs beyond many slaves’ reach. Think about that.

FYI, at this point, Trump Rx is essentially a front-page website that utilizes the GoodRx program in the background. It isn’t a site that prescribes or processes prescriptions. Perhaps in the future it will provide deeper price cuts than those available already through GoodRx.

In meantime you can enjoy the lower drug prices and lower premiums. They are coming. Once you stop supporting the health insurance companies. Stand up to these companies. They are setting the premiums not President Trump. Autopen Joe let the insurance company run the healthcare industry. Higher premiums, lower benefits and higher copay. After all we tax payers paid the high premiums with tax subsidies. Where do you think the money comes from. The government has no money it’s all your and mine and everybody else who pays taxes that paid for that. You are paying for all those illegals awhile your grandma or grandpa or maybe even yourself can barely make ends meet. Think about that. All this was created by Obama and his ACA bill and subsidy by Autopen. But did we hear objections from you? of course not. It was the dems that was robbing you blind. Trump is restoring some of that money back to you.

If Americans would control themselves and do what is right for diet, exercise and sleep we would not be needing to address the issue of cost for drugs as there would be little need for them.

Unfortunately with TrumpRx those like myself who have Hummana Gold/ Medicare do not qualify for discounts through TrumpRx! We are the ones who need it. My husband has diabetes and other health issues and they want us to Pay $1390.00 a month for waygovy or Ozempic for his prescription! We cannot afford these prices!

I logged in to Trump RX and to help us old people we need a step by step guide to deal with a government sign up.

  1. It didn’t say to look up your prescriptions first to see if they are listed with Trump RX
  2. They didn’t lead me to where the meds are listed
  3. They went straight to wanting to bill me $5 per month in perpetuity until I cancel. Not the right way to go.

What are you talking about? Having voter ID has nothing to do with suppressing anyone. If you aren’t cheating there should be no reason you cannot provide a ID to vote. You need a ID to drive and fly so why not to vote? We don’t want non – citizens voting and either should you!

Many seniors are on blood thinners, beta blockers, and such. I’m not familiar with most of the drugs listed. Looks like he is more interested in helping obesity. Free advice: learn to cook healthy and eat at home! I went with a lower drug plan hoping TrumpRX would include mine. Ouch! Now I have a higher deductible. Thanks to my doctors who gave me extended months of meds at the end of 2025! I did send President Trump a note about my thoughts.

Where are these drugs manufactured? Are they cheaper because the taxpayers are subsidizing them? Why are they offering drugs known to contain venom? Why aren’t they offering natural supplements? Just what will happen when people can’t get their meds from here because of a lack of supply? And what happens to other people when the pharmacy prices go even higher because of this? Are tariffs being charged on these drugs? There are so many pitfalls and traps in this plan, I see complete disaster ahead.
