In a decisive move that the White House is calling “the most impactful prescription price reset in the history of our country,” President Donald Trump has officially launched TrumpRx, a new federal prescription-drug platform designed to dramatically lower out-of-pocket prices for American patients. The website, now live at TrumpRx.gov, allows consumers to purchase select brand-name medications at “most-favored-nation” (MFN) prices — meaning Americans will pay no more than the lowest price offered in other developed nations.

For decades, Americans have borne the burden of paying far more for the exact same medicines sold overseas at a fraction of the cost. TrumpRx directly addresses that imbalance by securing agreements with major pharmaceutical manufacturers and passing those savings straight to consumers.

The platform currently features dozens of widely used medications — including GLP-1 drugs such as Ozempic and Wegovy — at steeply reduced prices. Patients can purchase these medicines directly, either paying cash at participating pharmacies or through manufacturer portals, bypassing traditional middlemen that have long increased costs.

The initial rollout includes agreements with AstraZeneca, Eli Lilly, EMD Serono, Novo Nordisk, and Pfizer. According to the White House, the launch delivers “massive price reductions on 40 of the most popular and expensive branded medicines in the nation,” with more manufacturers expected to join in the coming weeks.

The savings are striking. The fertility treatment Cetrotide has dropped from $316 to just $22.50. Bevespi Aerosphere, used to treat chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, has fallen from $458 to $51. Eucrisa, prescribed for atopic dermatitis, has declined from $792 to $158. These are transformational reductions for families who rely on these treatments.

President Trump emphasized the historic nature of the initiative during last week’s announcement.

“For years, politicians from both parties have promised to bring down prescription drug prices and make health care more affordable, but they all failed. It was all words as usual… But I’m actually getting it done,” Trump said. “This launch represents the largest reduction in prescription drug prices in history by many, many times.”

MFN pricing has been a cornerstone of Trump’s healthcare agenda since returning to office. In May of last year, he signed an executive order directing Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to facilitate direct-to-consumer purchasing programs at MFN prices. TrumpRx operationalizes that directive, creating a streamlined pathway for Americans to access fair, globally competitive pricing without bureaucratic delay.

Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz underscored the structural reform behind the effort.

“We’re no longer going to pay multiple times more for the exact same drug made by the same factories — often here in America — than they pay in Europe,” Dr. Oz explained. He further noted that the administration used every available negotiating tool to secure these agreements and ensure the best possible prices for patients.

The White House has indicated that additional pharmaceutical companies are in advanced discussions to join the platform, with the goal of rapidly expanding the number of discounted medications available through TrumpRx. The administration is also working to integrate TrumpRx purchases more seamlessly with health plans in the future.

President Trump has also called on Congress to pass his broader “Great Healthcare Plan,” which would codify MFN savings into federal law, enhance price transparency, lower insurance premiums, and allow TrumpRx purchases to count toward insurance coverage and deductibles. If enacted, the plan would further cement these reforms and protect them for generations to come.

For millions of seniors, working families, and patients living on fixed incomes, TrumpRx represents more than a website — it is a long-overdue correction to a broken system. By confronting global price disparities head-on and putting American patients first, the Trump administration has taken a major step toward restoring fairness and affordability in healthcare. If the early results are any indication, TrumpRx marks the beginning of a new era in which Americans finally stop subsidizing the rest of the world’s prescription drug costs and start enjoying the affordable care they deserve.
