Trump Makes Holy Week Holy Again

In a welcome change for Christians, President Donald Trump is putting faith and Christ’s sacrifice back at the center of the White House’s commemoration of Holy Week.

Holy Week is the final week of Lent, leading up to Easter Sunday, and commemorates the Passion, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It begins with Palm Sunday, marking Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem, and includes solemn observances like Holy Thursday and Good Friday. For Christians and Catholics, it is a sacred time of reflection, repentance, and deep spiritual significance, honoring the foundation of their faith.

In recognition of the central importance of Holy Week to more than 220 million American Christians – as well as the foundational importance of Christianity to American culture – Trump issued a Presidential Message on Palm Sunday kicking off the week of observance.

The message begins with striking language that underscores the president’s own Christian faith, as Trump shares that he and First Lady Melania Trump plan to “join in prayer with Christians celebrating the crucifixion and resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ—the living Son of God who conquered death, freed us from sin, and unlocked the gates of Heaven for all of humanity.”

“During this sacred week, we acknowledge that the glory of Easter Sunday cannot come without the sacrifice Jesus Christ made on the cross,” Trump continues. “In His final hours on Earth, Christ willingly endured excruciating pain, torture, and execution on the cross out of a deep and abiding love for all His creation. Through His suffering, we have redemption. Through His death, we are forgiven of our sins. Through His Resurrection, we have hope of eternal life.”

In an increasingly secularized culture, Trump’s bold proclamation of Christian truth stands as a defiant reaffirmation of America’s spiritual roots – unapologetically elevating the name of Jesus Christ from the highest office in the land.

The president also celebrated Holy Week in a post on Truth Social. “Through the pain and sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross, we saw God’s boundless Love and Devotion to all Humanity and, in that moment of His Resurrection, History was forever changed with the Promise of Everlasting Life,” he wrote.

Delivering on a campaign promise, Trump in February established the White House Faith Office, charging it with empowering “faith-based entities, community organizations, and houses of worship to better serve families and communities.” The office’s first major opportunity to deliver on that mission has come this Holy Week.

Jennifer Korn, the faith director of the office, explained to Fox News Digital that the White House has an “extraordinary” slate of events planned, including an Easter dinner on Wednesday evening hosted by Trump, a worship service on Holy Thursday, and a special Easter service for White House staff. Korn said it “will be a special time of prayer and worship at the White House to be shared with Americans celebrating the week leading up to Resurrection Sunday.”

“President Trump promised millions of Christians across the country that he would create a White House Faith Office, and he delivered on that promise,” White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt added. “The White House Faith Office has put together an extraordinary weeklong celebration for Holy Week ahead of Easter Sunday.”

As many conservatives and Christians have noted, Trump’s observance of Holy Week stands in stark contrast to Joe Biden’s sterilization of the holiday – despite Biden claiming to be a devout Christian.

Last year, Biden notably declared Easter Sunday to be “transgender day of visibility,” which many Christians viewed as a direct and intentional insult.

“What a contrast to Easter last year at the White House when President Biden declared the most holy day of the year on the Christian calendar ‘Transgender Day of Visibility,’” evangelist Franklin Graham posted on X. “I’m thankful for President @realDonaldTrump and the White House Faith Office, and I look forward to being there this week.”

Another reason the radical liberal hate Trump. He is a Christian. Liberals are trying to end Christianity in our country.

As a Messianic Judaic Believer who observes/celebrates/honors Passover I also want to thank President Trump for his Passover message/statement on April 13, 2025. In it he wished Jewish families a blessed Passover, adding that he prayed for God to look over the Jewish people, Israel and the U.S.

Grateful that President Trump believes in Jesus Christ.
But he shouldn’t have the rabbit up there with him at all!
That has nothing to do with Christianity.

This is soooo refreshing to see. Biden claimed to be a devout Catholic but his actions didn’t exemplify that by all means. I was appalled with his declaration of transgender day and putting that over the celebration of Christ’s resurrection made me question his devotion of the faith. Pope Francis should have ex communinicated him from the church especially with his stance on life.

Do any of the other Christians out there get bothered by the fact that Paula White was chosen for the head of the Faith department? She openly praised “Mother Moon” and has done many more very Un-Christian things. Surely do not understand this appointment.

Growing up in a Catholic household, never once did I hear Jesus was my savior. It was a Baptism girl when I was in 8th grand that taught me about Jesus being my savior. When I mentioned that to the nun, I was patted on the head and she said “yes dear we all know that but it is not enough.” It was about a system of works because we had purgatory to go though before we would know if we were going to heaven or not. So we would pay money for priest to do a novena to pray our loved one into heaven. You make up your own mind about Catholic and Christian.

As a former Catholic, I think the church has gone rogue and become a cult. Remember Cardinal Law from the Arch Dioceses of Boston? He responded to complaints from parents about homosexual priests molesting their children by transferring the priests to another parish, where they could continue their abuse against children, instead of reporting it to the police.
Today, he lives a life of luxury at the Vatican.

So what does that have anything to do with the subject at hand? Are you looking for attention or something? I’m not going to judge you because I’m not qualified. In my opinion, please read the Bible and do the best you can and remember, you only have to answer to God in the next life, not to me or anyone else. I’ll pray for you and I hope you will get the attention you are looking for in the Bible and not on a media platform.

No. You’re a fallen sinful human being who needs to repent and accept Christ’s propitiation for all of your sins, including homosexuality–an abomination to God. After that, the process of sanctification through putting death the former lusts begins, i.e., taking up your cross and following Him. He, via His Holy Spirit who will live in you, can and is very willing to cleanse, forgive, and renew you fully.

Amazing! The orange Anti Christ promotes Easter.

California Governor Gavin Newsom (C) speaks as Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass (L) listens at a press conference near the closed I-10 elevated freeway following a large pallet fire, which occurred Saturday at a storage yard beneath the freeway, on November 13, 2023 in Los Angeles, California.
