We’re At ‘A Gut Check Moment’ As Russia and China Challenge President Biden, Says Robert Charles

WASHINGTON, DC, Dec 20 — Robert Charles, commentator at the Association of Mature American Citizens [AMAC], recently sat down with Fox News anchor Neil Cavuto to discuss the clear and present danger posed by Russia as it threatens to invade the Ukraine and China as it continues to harass the independent island nation of Taiwan.  Charles, who served under presidents Reagan, Bush 41, and Bush 43 in key executive positions, described the increased tensions on both fronts as “a gut check moment.”

To put the situation into context, President Biden told reporters at the recent meeting of the Group of Seven economic powers in the U.K. that he’d spoken to Russian President Vladimir Putin, warning him that he and his country would pay “a terrible price” if Russia invades the Ukraine, that it would trigger economic consequences for his economy, consequences that will be “devastating. Devastating.”

As for China, it has mounted a campaign of threatening warplane overflights of Taiwan as a means of scaring the non-communist Republic of China into submission to Communist Chinese control.  And, Mr. Biden has brazenly and repeatedly stated that America will defend the island nation if attacked, but whether the U.S. is willing to engage in a shooting war in Taiwan’s defense is not clear under our long-standing policy of “strategic ambiguity.” Meanwhile, China’s Foreign ministry warns it will “firmly oppose any form of official exchanges and military contacts between the United States and Taiwan, oppose US interference in China’s internal affairs, and attempts to provoke and stir up trouble.”

As for the Russia-Ukraine conflict, in his interview with Cavuto, Charles questioned President Biden’s resolve. “We look at August 2012 where Obama-Biden said [to Russia] hey there’s a red line and if you cross it in Syria big things will happen and nothing happened … credibility is everything here and frankly the Biden administration’s credibility on this has got to hold … this is a very consequential moment … [does] the United states and NATO stand strong and say you cannot do this or is this another paper tiger.”

Cavuto posed the notion that China and Russia may be coordinating their mischief, with China saying, “you [Russia] keep him [Biden] busy in the Ukraine, and I’ll keep him busy in the South China Sea.”

Charles said he suspects “very strongly that Russian and Chinese diplomats and military personnel talk every day.  There are a lot of chess pieces that have been moved around on this board already, and what you see, essentially, in Taiwan, is that the United States has provided the lethal defensive capability and is late to the party, a little too late, saying that we’ll defend them.  I think this is a coordinated chess game, and just as Richard Nixon played the China card against the Soviet Union, I think Russia and China are very deftly playing their cards against us.  And I think if we’re not smart enough to see that, if we’re not playing two moves ahead, we’re going to get cornered.

“They’ve looked at what we’ve done in the past.  Number one, Biden is not a good coalition builder.  Number two, his word has not been kept.  Number three, look at how he behaved in Afghanistan.  And so, they say he’s afraid of the Taliban why would he do anything to sort of put us in harm’s way.  He hasn’t got the gumption to go forward, so you know I think this is a real test… this is a gut check moment.”

Charles went on to point out that the G-7 nations are dependent on Russian energy, asking “is this a realignment moment, is this a moment when these European countries say, is the United states with us, are they leading, are they going to guide this process or are they just gonna fall by the wayside and let Russia do what they want and ultimately let China do what they want.”

Let me just net this all out for everyone. Look at Biden’s entire career in politics. Has he ever been right on anything related to foreign policy? Answer NO NEVER. He has been wrong consistently for decades. Now as so-called POTUS I doubt his political and leadership instincts have improved any. As a matter of fact, with his cognitive abilities in obvious decline, he shouldn’t be involved in any major policy matter either foreign or domestic, but that is another story.

That leaves Biden’s Cabinet and senior administrative staff, who are actually running the show. They are all either former Obama era personnel or people pulled from Ivy League universities, because of their socialist or communist views with no real world expertise in containing or managing anything of any real substance. Thay can write white papers extolling the virtues of socialism or nationalizing everything, but any closet commie can do that without much effort.

On the foreign relations front, the same Obama era personnel that oversaw the last invasion of Ukraine by Putin are once again in charge at the State Department. The same folks that offered MREs and blankets to Ukraine, when what they asked for was heavy weapons to push back against Putin. European leaders for the most part did little but issue “stern rebukes” and other mostly meaningless, symbolic gestures at the time.

As for China, these same Obama era people bent over backwards to accommodate whatever President Xi desired. That is pretty much what we have returned to with China today under the Biden administration. That’s also pretty much the same for most European leaders today. More than a few European leaders have publicly stated this year that they value their economic ties to China over any perceived American foreign policy concerns.

So to net it all out for everyone, no one should be expecting the Biden administration or most European leaders to do anything of any real substance against either Putin or Xi if and when either leader decides to make their move. Both Putin and Xi respect and fear only one thing and that is the real threat of overwhelming force being put on the table to counter any of their moves. That is something that neither the Biden administration nor any of the European leaders are seriously prepared to do. So both Putin and Xi rightly see this as an opportune time for make their moves, if they so desire.

Could dementia Joe be complicit with Russia and China behind the scenes? Do their money deals with Biden (Joe and hunter) prove that Joe has already sold out to them?

The Chinese and Ruskies are all laughing at biden and his whole cabinet. Not to mention laughing at all of the other politicos who are hyping up the biden administration and those who have chosen biden’s mandates as their “live by” codes. Nah, biden’s a hapless, bumbling geriatric who needs to stay home, eat his oatmeal and watch t.v. If, for no other reason but for the good of our Constitutional Republic. Just stay home slow joe… there’s professionals who can handle it. IMHO

Have a safe and merry Christmas everyone!

Well, folks, the cognitively challenged idiot in the White House has finally accomplished what no other president since Lyndon Johnson did. He created a situation that will only lead to major war, with enemies that know this a**hole hasn’t a backbone or clue how to defend the United States. They also realize this country doesn’t have any REAL generals left to lead our forces, only woke kiss asses (we haven’t forgotten Afghanistan already, have we?)!
Top that off with the fact the rest of the world has been put into a strategic position they cannot refuse, it’s August 1915 all over again! This time, this war “will” be the “war to end all wars”, because nothing is going to be left to fight over! Enjoy what life we have left, because the tyrannical peace we have now, it isn’t going to last much longer! A couple of months at best.
I’m not sure if there is anything we can do now to stop this apocalypse, short of chopping off the ugly empty head of the Medusa at the top, and the sooner, the better. God help us, because we haven’t any leadership to rely upon to abort this coming catastrophe.

This is exactly what happens when braindead fools elect a stupid and demented president, and the demonRat Communists steal the election.
America is in for a world of hurt. Let’s just make sure when the bombs come, all demonRats are in those cities.
Of course they are joining up to make our top fool look as foolish as he really is. Anyone familiar with History recognizes this gambit.

Both Russia and China know that they have an open window with this resident of the Whitehouse.
Putin and Xi see how weak and stupid Biden is, and will take full advantage.

Yes we are at that ” gut check moment ” & both Putin & Xi are fully aware of it…My best guess, some time after the CCP Olympics are done & over with, Mr. Xi will be looking real closely at Taiwan & knowing full well they have China Joe along with his sidekick son Hunter acting as the bag man in their back pocket, as clearly explained by PaulE further down in the comments…Putin can make his move whenever it suits him & Xi anytime after ” his ” Olympics are done…America has lost her way in International politics on many levels at this point & at the same time we have a incognizant senior citizen acting as a potus, i.e. (he was put there) that can barely complete a sentence without losing track of what he was saying just seconds before…There will be NO red lines to cross, the Obama era cabinet couldn’t possibly be that stupid again, could they?
I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year…

Hey, I have a great idea! Why doesn’t Biden hire President Trump as a personal advisor. If he followed Trumps advise, maybe we could survive and avoid this excursion into Biden’s communist agenda. It would get us back on track to make this country great again.

The modern day axis of evil is Russia, China and Iran. If you think that these godless empires will be intimidated by “sanctions” from Obiden, better think again. Remember when Comrade Obama drew his “line in the sand” regarding Crimea? Then part of Ukraine now belonging to Russia I believe, if memory serves me right. I think all 3 will make their move while the Obiden “window of opportunity for despots” is wide open. Does anyone think Putin is massing his troops on Ukraine for fun and games? Weakness invites aggression and in the USA today we have the King of that gutless domain.
