A new consensus is emerging within the Democrat Party establishment: Yes, Joe Biden is too old to run for president again in 2024. But the party will back him anyway, because the alternative of a Kamala Harris-led ticket is worse.
That’s the upshot of a bombshell story from Politico reporter Jonathan Martin late last week detailing the private thoughts of many senior Democrat operatives, who nearly all spoke on the condition of anonymity. One senator said, “Few Democrats in [Congress] want Biden to run again,” while a governor “mused about just how little campaigning Biden would be able to do.”
A few brave Democrats have openly stated that Biden is simply too old to run. Rep. Dean Phillips of Minnesota has said that “if [Biden] were 15-20 years younger it would be a no-brainer to nominate him, but considering his age it’s absurd we’re not promoting competition but trying to extinguish it.”
Fellow Minnesota Democrat Angie Craig has made similar comments. Some voices in the mainstream media have also made that case, with The New York Times releasing an opinion article last July declaring “Joe Biden is too old to be president again,” and The Washington Post running an analysis piece putting the spotlight on Biden’s age and mental fitness.
But the hard truth that many Democrat power brokers have come to face is that Kamala Harris, Biden’s most obvious heir apparent, gives them an even worse chance of retaining the White House in 2024.
Harris’s tenure as vice president has been a disaster. Early in his presidency, Biden tasked her with solving the border crisis. This was met with back-to-back failures. Not only was the border not secured, but a series of interview gaffes tarnished her public image. Most notably, in an interview with Lester Holt, she dismissed criticism for not visiting the border by stating, “And I haven’t been to Europe.” The gaffe drew such criticism and condemnation that the vice president withdrew from almost all major interviews for nearly a year. Harris, it seems, is the only politician capable of doing worse in front of a microphone than her boss.
Democrats are in a bind, however. As a woman of Asian and Jamaican descent, any attempt to deny Harris the nomination would likely infuriate large parts of a Democrat base obsessed with identity politics. As vice president, Harris is also the natural choice for the nomination if Biden were to choose not to run.
This combination of factors virtually mandates that Democrats must back Harris if they abandon Biden. “Democrats have seen what happens when anyone in their party openly criticizes Harris,” Martin writes. “They’re accused by activists and social media critics of showing, at best, racial and gender insensitivity. This doesn’t stifle concerns about her prospects, of course, it just pushes them further underground or into the shadows of background quotes.”
Another House Democrat said, “The Democrats who will need to speak out on her are from the Congressional Black Caucus, no white member is going to do it.”
Re-nominating Biden, then, is perhaps more about avoiding an intraparty civil war than it is about giving Democrats the best chance to win in 2024. The obvious conclusion that most Democrats seem to have reached but few have the courage to say out loud is that the party is best off running someone not named Joe Biden or Kamala Harris in the next presidential election.
But running Biden again next year will only prolong the inevitable: whether in 2024 or 2028, Kamala Harris will expect what she feels she is owed – a clear path to the nomination.
Democrats find themselves stuck at an impasse of their own creation. If poll numbers and both Biden’s and Harris’s woeful record are any indication, however, it won’t matter who is at the top of the ticket in 2024, because both the president and vice president will find themselves voted out of office.

An impasse of their own (Democrats) creation is it in a nutshell. But since they have seemed to find the know-how and means to cheat elections, does it even matter? They buy votes, send out ballots to anyone, citizen or not, dead or alive in the Democratic enclaves and the results are counted over long periods of time to ensure that if they are “falling short” they can suddenly discover uncounted ballots. Many ballots from conservative areas go missing or the machines just stop working. And the mainstream press is MIA. They couldn’t be bothered to investigate anything that doesn’t benefit the liberals.

I believe the democratic nominee for President in 2024 will be a leader of a drug cartel since they now control both our borders thanks to Biden’s border policies and emphasis on Ukraine’s sovereignty rather than that of the United States. He is depleting the U.S.’s military to support Ukraine while Russia, China, and Iran wait for the moment to take over our country.
Neither Biden nor Harris has accomplished ANYTHNG positive for our country. The things Biden bragged about during SOTU speech were all NEGATIVE to normal, patriotic Americans. IDK of one positive action by ANY government department in the last 2 years!
If I were a betting man, I would wager that Biden-Harris is the only the face of this clown show known as an “administration” I highly suspect Obama and his handlers are running this circus.

Is it a coincidence that Rep. Dean Phillips of Minnesota used “no-brainer” in a sentence about Beijing Joe and 2024? Not “easy”, “no sweat”, “piece of cake”, etc! The first thing that comes to his mind is “no-brainer”.

Don’t count the hyena out just yet. I always thought that Biden was rock solid impeachment insurance for Obama as no one would want this fool in charge. But obviously I was wrong if he got elected. The hyena might surprise everyone too.
A good way to celebrate President’s day would have Biden and Harris taken out of the White House in handcuffs then placed on trial for TREASON! No need to impeach– they stole the election and in my book, he is not the President. Even though Washington’s false teeth caused him pain, I think this would make him smile.
Expecting to be the nominee “Because it is my turn…” has been the standard for both parties at various moments. It finally worked for Biden probably because he promised Warren and Sanders he would sign the work produced by socialist operating the administration.
Harris can sign just as well as Biden. Who on earth could be vice president under her and not over shaddow her?????

We have descended into darkness that we’re incapable of finding qualified candidates to run on the Democratic ticket other than Biden and/or Harris. Decisions like this shouldn’t be based on anything but qualifications. Ancestry is not a basis for election. Both have shown that they’re not up for the task. Surely the Democrats have other options. If not, what does that say about the party. Nothing good in my book!

That didn’t matter in ’20, thanks to a soft coup. Sadly, it’s unlikely to matter in ’24 either. Unless voting laws are changed, I seriously doubt that an “R” will be elected POTUS. It doesn’t matter who Democrats run as long as they can obtain the presidency. The Democrat Party is now a puppet party controlled by Socialist billionaires and Communist Chinese. Harris has no expertise in anything administratively and her stories are even dumber than those of Joe Biden. In my humble opinion, Harris is no worse than empty shirt, race divider Joe Biden; however, most Democrats seem to think that Biden is the lesser of two evils. Biden has done such a horrible and disgusting job in destroying our great country that the valid reasons for supporting Biden over Harris are very unclear, but the Democrats are more comfortable with Biden, just because they are used to his brand of lying and incompetence. If the Republicans use their resources wisely and don’t shoot themselves, the situation is looking better and better for the appearance of a Republican president next term. Our country sorely needs a leader who is both competent and humble, patriotic and constitutional. Some of the top military brass are already warning that we are on the road to a major war with Communist China by 2025 — scary, very scary.

The Democrat Party is trying to avoid a situation in which the ship goes down with the captain. Their only clean way out of their Biden/Harris dilemma is to run the same ticket and lose the election in 2024. That gets rid of both Biden and Harris (the co-captains) and preserves the ship (the Democrat Party) to fight again another day. Any attempt to give the co-captains the heave-ho from within will destroy the “ship”. There is little chance that Harris could come back from an electoral defeat in 2024 to become the nominee in 2028 or beyond.

Both Biden and Harris were selected by the Democrat Party in 2020, because they checked off enough identity politics boxes that the mind-numb Democrat voters would follow along. All it took was the stamp of approval from Rep. Jim Clyburn for Biden to go from 5th place to 1st place to secure the Democrat nomination. Then the Democrat Party picked Harris to be Joe’s running mate, because she met the only criteria the Democrats cared about. After that, campaigning in 2020 wasn’t an issue for the Biden / Harris ticket, because the Democrat Party and the administrative state inside the Washington, D.C. beltway had everything lined up to ensure the 6 key swing states would go Biden’s way.
Fast forward t0 2024. If Dementia Joe is allowed to run for re-election (a lot can happen between now and then from an inside the beltway perspective), neither the Democrat Party nor the MSM is particularly worried. After all, they just have to rerun the same game plan they used in 2020 to ensure Biden “won” (was given the necessary number of ballots over the course of a few days) to install him yet again in the White House. If the American people continue to tolerate the level of manipulation to place Biden in the White House for another 4 years, then they deserve to be reduced to serfs serving their masters.
Does it really matter which one of them is in office? Are they really in control? That might be a good investigative story for you all to look into.
