Bohemia, NY (1/1/2026) — The Association of Mature American Citizens is pleased to announce the AMAC Book Club’s January Book of the Month: How to Test Negative for Stupid: And Why Washington Never Will by U.S. Senator John Kennedy.

Known for its sharp wit and plain-spoken political commentary, the book offers a humorous, behind-the-scenes look at Washington culture—blending observations, stories from public service, and memorable one-liners from “America’s most quotable Senator.”

“AMAC members love books that spark conversation,” said AMAC CEO Rebecca Weber. “This pick is timely, funny, and sure to lead to a lively discussion about government, leadership, and common sense.”

AMAC Book Club members can look forward to themed discussion prompts and a dedicated conversation thread throughout January.

What a fine choice of reading material. I read this book last October, and it is an eye opener as far as politics goes. His humor, and candid truth telling, made it an easy read. Hooray for one Senator who tells it like it is.

I received this book as a Christmas gift and thought I’d take a glance at the first few pages but ended up reading it in one sitting and was reduced to tears on several instances….tears of laughter!

It didn’t take me but 2 days and I finished Senator John Kennedy’s book. It was so informative and funny at the same time. This was the best book that I have read in a while. I would recommend everyone to buy this book and read it.

I read this book about two months ago. I love Sen. Kennedy, his humor and his “right on” truth telling. He pulls no punches and between his humor and truth telling, this was an easy read. I laughed out loud at some of the stories. I highly recommend this book. It was most enjoyable.
