I do remember that “ice box”, gas stove and the table very well! haha But it’s all brighter colors than I remember too. I can still remember my Mom’s excitement when she got a real fridge that made ice instead!

I’m so glad that we NEVER had a kitchen table like that. Seems that the entire neighborhood did. We had a rather large dining room table that had center pieces inserted to make it longer for special occasions.

Brings back memories of updated my brothers house, removing green metal cabinets like these and removing vinyl squares. Still have the green metal cabinets, using as storage cabinets in the garage ! Still have a chrome legged table, except mine is kidney shaped. The table was my grandmas; many memories of Christmas Cookies on that table.

We had a wood cookstove in our kitchen (lived in the country) until the late 50s when we finally got a gas stove and Dad brought running water into the kitchen from a spring that was on the opposite side of a 7-acre mini-farm. Was much later in life that I came to truly appreciate that time in my life.

1:21. So much better than a week ago. Our table was gray with turquoise shapes running through it. They were so easy to keep clean–so much better than wood.
