I know this is about the US Constitution, But did you know for the Declaration of Independence: 9 of the 56 signers died in battle or from wounds fighting against the British; 5 signers were captured by the British and executed; 2 had sons that died fighting against the British; 12 signers had their homes and farms ransacked and burned by Tories.
Interesting that 25% of the signers paid the ultimate price for the birth of our United States. The old saying “Freedom is never Free”, rang true for our founding fathers, maybe this how the saying got started?

Gave up on BB after 26 misses on the blue and red wood. Gave it another try and got Expert level with only 1 miss. I’m thankful our founding fathers got it right in outlining our Republic.

It’s 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, not the Constitution. Preamble to the Constitution came later. Both incredible historic documents, nonetheless.
