Now that’s what I’m talking about!
I can remember standing in my dads lap in our 1957 turquoise station wagon holding on to that huge steering wheel with him as we eased our way up the driveway. Nice memory now at 66 and retired.
Thank you!

Born “54”. My dad had a brown 56? (I believe) chevy. Packed all of us kids in. No seat belts. And if you were tired coming home from Grandma’s, you laid down on the back seat! I remember the hump on the floor that I would stand on. Good ol days!

My grandma and grandpa had a 1956 two-tone black and white Chevy Belair. Our family had a 58 Turquoise Chevy Belair, 4 door. Slept many times in the back seat at the drive-in. I could never stay awake through the second movie. Lol. We had that 58 Chevy until 1965. Lots of great memories!

Somehow I missed a placement, probably because they were ’56’s. I used to restore ’57’s to better than showroom condition with an old buddy. We knew every square inch of those cars inside, outside, top, and bottom. We built one station wagon, if you were crazy enough, you could get to 300 mph. Bud got a ticket for 245 mph. Another one (named old blue), 3 on the tree, would peg the speedometer in second gear, and smoke the tires in all three gears. Sold that one for $6,000, a pickup truck and an almost new GTO. 1975 dollars. Fun, profit and lots of coats of paint.
