Dan Weber (L), Founder of AMAC, presents then-Representative Ron DeSantis with AMAC’s Patriot Award (circa 2016). This year, AMAC Members voted Governor DeSantis as their 2022 Man of the Year.

WASHINGTON, DC, Jan 27 — Americans continue to relocate to Florida in record numbers. The sun and fun of the sunshine state has a lot to do with it but don’t discount the attraction of the state’s governor, Ron DeSantis. He’s just as popular across the country as he is in his own state. Governor DeSantis was the pick for the Association of Mature American Citizens’ 2022 Man of the Year for the majority of the voters of its 2.4 million members, according to AMAC’s CEO Rebecca Weber.

“Once again they showed their preference for leaders who stand up for America’s Constitutional ideals,” Weber said. “He is a huge proponent of election integrity. He signed legislation into law in 2022 that establishes an Office of Election Crimes and Security within the Florida Department of State. He is a dedicated proponent of ID requirements for absentee vote-by-mail ballots. He signed a sweeping voting bill establishing a new election police force and created harsher penalties for ballot harvesting and instituted deterrences to non-citizen voting.”

One Man-of-the-Year voter said “DeSantis is no-nonsense. He is a doer. He has been on offense every single day taking actions to push back and make substantive changes to move Florida back towards the ideals this country was founded on. Easy #1 choice.” Another voter said he “chose DeSantis because he has all around been a great representative of conservatism on many fronts.”

Other AMAC members who participated in the voting said they liked the way he handles issues such as the bill he supported that targets the teaching of Critical Race Theory (CRT) in Florida’s public K-12 schools and CRT instruction in the workplace. The bill passed the legislature and was signed into law by Governor Ron DeSantis in 2022. Others cited his parental rights legislation and the way he dealt with the Walt Disney Company’s “woke” policies, which wound up getting the company’s head of corporate affairs fired. As one participant in the poll put it, “I admire DeSantis because he stands up to all the woke idiot companies and the backwards way of thinking! He’s a man with a backbone who does the right thing for the people.”

If President Trump had not won the 2016 election, we would be living in a total dictatorship (instead of a partial dictatorship) by now. I like DeSantis and what he’s done here in Florida, but has he ever publicly thanked President Trump for helping him win the Florida governorship in 2018? Make no mistake…if it’s between DeSantis and President Trump, I will absolutely support President Trump. FJB! TRUMP2024!

Disappointed, thinking how short-sighted people have been when voting in this poll. Regardless of their personalities, and what they achieved in 2022, one nominee acted well for only ONE state of the Union. Another AMAC nominee was kept busy fighting back against never-ending, baseless Democrat assaults in 2022. What Elon Musk did in 2022 was to fight back against censorship and tyranny for the entire U S., spending his own money in the process. The U.S. is still benefitting from his defense of free speech by purchasing Twitter. His subsequent actions focused on personnel changes, user cleanup, and transparency. Every American who believes in the First Amendment should logically have voted for Musk, simply because the impact and scope of his actions in 2022 far excelled those of the other two AMAC nominees. By the way, I am a fan of FL’s Governor, and intend to vote for the experienced, feared-by-Democrats, battle-hardened D.J. Trump in 2024, believing that with his experience and acumen, he is the only one tough and savvy enough to stop all domestic and foreign attacks on America and her citizens.

President Trump is the man of the year in my book, actually the man of many years. He loves our country and is beholden to no one; he acts on behalf of us, We the People. He has taken a continual beating . . . for us!! I like how Ron DeSantis is governing, but he is not ready to be president. Maybe some day, but not in 2024. Why has he not thanked President Trump for helping him win the governor’s race in Florida? Why has DeSantis not acknowledged all President Trump has done for Florida, and all the states?

I don’t think whoever voted for this had all the facts…

He got my vote. Yes, he’s at a state level but clearly getting national attention because of what he’s done and doing, and setting the stage for his national level introduction politically. We like Trump, but his mouth and tweets are burdensome and far too divisive to win again on a national stage, he’s had our vote in the past at the ballots. We agree he never got a fair shake in the press, and still does not. But too he doesn’t help himself, time and again. And his latest stunt celebrating and hosting a log cabin (gay) GOP event at his home just shows further he is not the solid conservative he led us to believe he was. He panders far too much and continually indicates it’s as much about his ego as it is the good of the USA. Sorry, but hoping he’s not the GOP candidate, because he’ll lose, though he’d get our vote if so, because Lord knows know Dem deserves it with their anti-American agenda.

Ron is good but Trump is better! Sidebar: If Amac also picked the Dem “Man of the Year” it should be Mitch McConnell. No one person has furthered the cause of the democratic agenda than Old Mitch the democratic bitch. Mitch is the senator of KY but didn’t even try to use a little KY on the rest of the republican party when he singlehandedly passed the Omnibus bill! He needs to go as soon as possible along with all the senators that voted for him as minority leader!

Congratulations Governor well deserved. Well done Amac showcasing other deserving Americans continuing the fight across the country. May show more Americans to stand up for what is right . Case in point the California truckers , don’t follow their rules let the wind driven trucks see if they can move their goods .

Excellent choice AMAC!!
Ron DeSantis is excellent representation of the conservative values and morals. He is a strong defender of the constitution and the founding fathers ideals for this country. He understands “we the people” and what it means, he understands & defends our amendment rights and isn’t afraid to stand up against the “woke” agenda being pushed by many in DC. He’s a solid Republican that’s not afraid to stand strong against poor republicans and their cowardly spineless ways. He does all this with tactful bluntness that doesn’t embarrass or humiliate the right conservatism. Too bad he can’t stay governor of Florida forever, I’d move in a heartbeat if he could, however if he chooses to run for president (and I hope he does) he’ll get my vote and I’m sure many others as well.

DeSantis is a good governor because he’s doing what Trump would have done in his place. He’s not stupid. He knows how popular Trump is, regardless of what the media (even AMAC) would have you believe, and he’s cashing in on it. He’s a politician. Trump is not.

I bet this is going to make Trump mad. I know it will his followers. At one time I was a big Trump supporter. I even have a Tshirt and a stupid face diaper with his name. When he pushed the jab he lost my support. Young people are dying and some are severely injured. Yet he’s still bragging about it. He’s all about himself. Pride goes before a fall. Don’t put your trust in princes.

I know it is a LONG SHOT but I am praying somehow….Trump would ask DeSantis to be his running mate…if both could put their egos aside for all of us. WHY wouldn’t they do this?? Then…should we finally truly clean up the election fiasco we have all allowed to happen by not paying attention over the years….maybe then Trump could serve out his 4 years finally and with DeSantis as his partner they could start dismantling the abhorrent mess in DC and then Trump could ride off onto his golf course in 4 yrs and DeSantis could carry on for 8 years. Maybe that would be enough time to bring our country back with prayer and PARTICIPATION by ALL of us out here who haven’t been paying attention for DECADES on the evil that has been steadily growing in our society and government.

Reply to Mike. May I suggest you look up the word nazi. And while you are at it read up on Hitler.
I am 83 years old and as a small child endured the nazi’s. My Dad had to go into hiding from the nazis and the SS was at our house at least once a month looking for him, searching our house. Confiscating food they deemed illegal to possess.
Interrogate me as a 3-4 year old child. Sorry Mike you are pathetic

De Santis continues to fight and win against COVID tyranny, school and college indoctrination, and against giant international corporations like Disney. He is the only Governor with the cojones to fire a Soros backed prosecutor for failure to fulfill his constitutional duties to uphold the law. Unlike Trump he has no blind spots in his supporting cast (i.e. especially Sessions and Barr) and has hired an outstanding Attorney General and has one of the best state Surgeon General’s in the country; who fought against the CDC mask mandates and helped expose the COVID lies. Also, unlike Trump, he speaks forcibly but clearly and articulately without wandering off track and unnecessary and childish name calling. And don’t call me an anti Trump RINO because I voted for him twice but simply know that he is too divisive to ever win again. On the other hand, De Santis got the most decisive Republican victory in the mid-terms in the country and changed one of the most “diverse” states from a purple state to a solid red state by 20 points. De Santis has both a military and legal background so he has the expertise to fight and not get fooled in either arena. He has proved he can win independents and even Democrats and Trump never will and he has done so without compromise. Clearly, De Santis is the future of the Republican Party.

Gmama is right. Trump / DeSantis would be unbeatable by any measure. But can you just hear the splashing sounds from tidal waves of tears from the left about the ticket being too white. If both are running against each other, I am going with Trump. BTW, I love the name calling. Donalds for VP.

In addition to the conservative policies Gov. Ron DeSantis has been fighting for, I also appreciate his civil demeanor. He doesn’t call people names, he answers questions fully and factually, and he has convinced huge numbers of non-conservatives to vote for him and for other Republicans throughout the state. He carries less baggage.

As much as I admired President Trump for the business-friendly American-centric platform he delivered, he turned off too many voters, including R’s. If DeSantis runs in the primary, I’ll vote for him and donate to his campaign. If he doesn’t, we’ll see who else comes forward. I think America is ready for the next generation to step up.

Whoever the R candidate will be, every one of us must vote for him or her. No sitting out the 2024 election or 3rd party voting just because your first choice didn’t make it to the ballot. That’s how we lose elections.

That crown on DeSantis’ head fell off and crashed to the floor when he started pushing for a constitutional convention. That is currently the greatest threat to our constitutional form of government. Go to jbs.org for more information. Yes, I know, Trump crashed to the floor also when he started bragging about his jab again. Oh, what a tangled web we weave…….

I liked President Trump also. However, he never seemed to learn when to stop making sharp comments about his foes. Not that I disagreed or was offended by his comments. I thought worst about the worthless scumbags he rightly attacked. However, our Communist mainstream news media would concentrate only his comments and refused to promote the good he was doing for the country. And, of course, the American sheeple ate it all up. Now, we have a braindead idiot in the White House, who is mindlessly destroying our country and its economy, along with the ignorant morons he has appointed, and our Commie news media are really happy.

A well deserved recognition of Ron DeSantis’ accomplishments and approaches to governing the state of Florida. I give the man credit for what he’s done. Those accomplishments stand on their own. He represents a solid, well grounded approach to governing in a pro-Constitutional way.

In the recent poll here, I voted for Musk as “Man Of The Year”. Sure DeSantis is turning to be a great Governor, but that’s just ONE state. But, on a national basis even worldwide you can’t discount Musk for putting his life and wallet on the line to preserve conservative speech by freeing up Twitter.

Every politician has secrets. Name one who doesn’t. Some are just better at hiding their secrets, and those are the ones I don’t trust. I like DeSantis because he keeps his word to the people he was elected to serve. Most politicians these days seldom remember that they are elected to serve anyone but themselves, and their party. More than a few of them want to take down our constitution and bill of rights. One of the reasons I disliked Hiliary, apart from her liberal views, was her saying that we just had to get used to losing our rights. Our founding leaders gave us those rights at the expense of life in some cases, and fortune in most cases. Everyone in the USA should know the rights that our constitution gives them, and value them as being unique and amazing in the political world. We are protected from political abuses, and should reject all attempts to remove, circumvent, and violate our constitution and the rights it gives us.

I LOVE THE MAN, HOWEVER, I URGE ALL SAINTS AND PATRIOTS TO PREPARE FOR THE WORSE

THINGS ARE ONLY GOING TO GET WORSE; we are near or already in the time of Tribulation , as described in the Holy Bible’s books of: Revelation, Mathew 24, Mark 13, Luke 21, Daniel, Isaiah, etc.

We are seeing: MASSIVE DECEPTION, unchecked amounts of blasphemy, self-loving perverts allowed to murder babies, perverts indoctrinating little children, perverts drawing little children into their godless obscenities, treasonous and depraved men running the world, perverts dividing and conquering by race-bating, most world leaders in the process of ushering in the NWO( i.e. the last kingdom of man under the Beast ), lawlessness, the depraved and perverted legally protected, illegal aliens used to destabilize nations, laws enacted to aid the ungodly and to terrorize the righteous, perverts ransacking our nation, our civil rights vanishing, wars and rumors of wars, famines, pestilences, earthquakes, fires, volcanic eruptions, signs in the sky, the persecution of Christians; including anyone with a conservative-view, a mass-exodus of false-Christians from the church(good-riddance!), and all of the usual world problems happening in greater number and magnitude than ever before.

GOD CREATED ONE-RACE, THE HUMAN RACE, OUR RIGHTEOUS GOD CREATES BEAUTIFUL FLOWERS OF DIFFERENT SHAPES AND COLORS –SO HAS HE DONE WITH HIS CHILDREN –SATAN HAS PERVERTED THIS BY INCLUDING SODOMITES, RACE-BAITERS, AND EVERY OTHER UNGODLY PERVERSION THAT WE ARE SEEING THESE DAYS; AND UNGODLY PEOPLE PROMOTE HIS PERVERTED WILL.

We are also witnessing the rise of the kingdom of the Antichrist(NWO); he will pretend to be the savior of the world, however, after 3 and 1/2 years of rule, he will unleash all hell upon the Earth. His kingdom will consist of a: One world religion, One world government, and One world monetary system; all of these have been predicted within the Holy Bible, thousands of years ago.

=== TURN TO JESUS CHRIST FOR THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS AND SALVATION OF YOUR SOULS, AND FOR STRENGTH FOR THE COMING PERSECUTION! ===

WE ARE IN THE TRIBULATION! [Peace has been taken from the Earth.]
Revelation 6:4 “And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to TAKE PEACE FROM THE EARTH, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.” –just look at the world, there is violence, and deception everywhere!

PRE-TRIBULATION ZEALOTS WILL SAY THAT IT HAS NOT STARTED, AND WILL KEEP SAYING SO EVEN WHEN THE BEAST SETS HIS THRONE IN THE TEMPLE!

From most accounts, DeSantis is an excellent choice to be the Repub’s next runner for POTUS. Would love Trump with him as Veep candidate to back him up. I am a bit concerned that the rigors of POTUS might be a bit too strenuous for Trump altho I like his action, especially in his first term. I still believe Trump was grossly and unjustly harassed in his term.as POTUS.

I thought Donald Trump was a great president. He is a very smart businessman which is what this country needs to be run efficiently. He stood strong with all the harassment that he took while in office. Somehow, I think he was robbed of a second term. I think his biggest problem is, he tells it like it is and many people didn’t like it. He wasn’t one of the “Good Ole Boys” and didn’t fit in with many of the politicians that supposedly runs this country.
I believe that Joe Biden didn’t win the election, Donald Trump lost it. People would have voted for Mickey Mouse if he ran-anyone but Donald Trump. My fear is, if we have a repeat of the same matchup, a repeat is going to happen again. Many will vote for Biden again looking for a handout, especially the illegals.
I’m thinking, the ideal ticket would be a Trump/DeSantis one. Which one who would be President or Vice President really doesn’t matter to me as long as they win. We need to get our country back!
