America Must Stay Strong

America

Why must America always be strong? Modern thinking indulges the idea that weakness at home and abroad comes with no costs, just the satisfaction of less spending on security, fewer allies to support, as we hope on peace. Nothing could be more dangerous or unnerving to American allies. Nothing is further from our history.

Historically – and today – a strong, morally upright, determined America gives the free world hope. China can bribe, lie, extort, distort, threaten, coerce, and condemn – like all communist countries – to secure favors. Theocracies like Iran can terrorize, autocracies can suppress opposition and show no contrition.

Only one country has – by fidelity to the miracles of representative government, a Bill of Rights, and capitalism – changed the world. To the world, America has brought innovation and daring, from science, engineering, and medicine to communication, transportation, and security.

Perhaps most nobly, when the world has shivered, America has risked all, given her sons and daughters to end wars and secure peace, replacing fear with hope.

Last century, we ended two world wars, rebuilt a devastated Europe, and former adversaries Germany, Japan, and Italy. We brought the cruelty of the Soviet Union to an end, freeing hundreds of millions without nuclear war.

We pioneered the United Nations, worked with allies to instill respect for God-given individual rights, sovereignty, self-determination, respect for humanity and law, Africa to Afghanistan, Balkans to Baltics, Thailand and Taiwan to South and Central America.

Which brings us to – now. All of this is possible – because America has stayed strong, unswerving in service to ideals, imperfect but aspiring, at home and abroad. Those who would destroy humanity, who would subjugate, intimidate, and annihilate, pause – because of the awesome power and purpose, historic certitude and courage that lives in one place, America.

This is why our strength – moral and physical – matters. The world is not a peaceful place. The world is filled with threats and coercion, communist, fascist, anarchist, theocratic, dictatorial, and invariably corrupt, abusive, and lawless leaders, parties, and political persuasions. America is the counterweight. We always have been.

A story comes to mind – which says it all. Eighty years ago this year, Great Britain was reeling from the “Blitz” Battle of Britain, non-stop Nazi bombing of the last free country in Europe.

From September 1940 to May 1941, Hitler’s Luftwaffe aimed to destroy Britain’s Royal Air Force (RAF), kill enough civilians to break Britain’s will, then launch a cross-channel invasion to defeat the last outpost of freedom – and control Europe.

Blocking Hitler’s way were the towering courage of the RAF, unbreakable will of the British, an unflappable, highly persuasive Prime Minister named Churchill, and a friendship – between Churchill, whose mother was American, and America.

America, then led by Theodore Roosevelt’s fifth cousin, Franklin (or FDR), was powerful. In January 1941, mid- Battle of Britain – which killed thousands – we were not yet in. That would happen after Pearl Harbor, in December 1941, when Hitler’s ally Japan bombed our homeland.

But as Britain struggled for any hope, as RAF pilots flew exhausted, as bombs ignited London, as breath itself seemed pinched by fear, a remarkable thing happened, at a small dinner party.

What happened signaled that America would not let evil prevail. We were coming – first with military hardware, then destroyers, above all moral and material support. Our time had come.

The night was late when FDR’s friend – Harry Hopkins, representing America – rose to his feet. He directed himself to Churchill and to Britain’s long-suffering people. America would not declare war for another 11 months, but America’s resolve – was to be clear, that night forward.

Quietly, this man of poise stood. He raised his glass and offered words that lived in the hearts of those who heard him for the rest of their lives. It was powerful – in countless ways. It was about America, our faith in God, ideals, and friendship, why we stay morally and physically strong – not just for ourselves, but for all those we love, and the future of free people everywhere.

Said America’s voice to the beleaguered people of Britain, quoting from the Book of Ruth, from the Bible: “Whither thou goest, I will go. And where though lodgest, I will lodge; thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God. Even to the end.” The toast brought the room to tears.

That room was – and British from that moment forward – were infused with confidence, knowing America would be at their side, would not leave them, until victory. It was the sort of comfort only the love and resolve of a tireless friend, a loyal friend, a faithful friend brings.

We – Americans – delivered that epic message – and stayed true to it until evil fell. We could deliver it because we were strong and principled. The world depended on us. That message changed everything, made possible today. That is why we stay strong. That is why we did then and must now. All the free world depends on a strong America. Simple, sobering, true.

America will not win the hearts and support of any country without a position of strength. Strength and honor will achieve the goals of this country and of the free world. O’Biden has failed miserably in providing the strength and honor that this world needs. He has shown that weakness is his main playing card, and there will thousands of Afghans murdered because of his failure there. He has been in government for over 50 years, and his record is abject failure….what a legacy.

It is perfectly and absolutely true that America’s decency and strength has brought real peace to more of the earth than thought possible.
We are a ‘good’ people, full of the courage of our convictions, and great brain power. If anything is possible, America has gone after it. We are unafraid of the Hitlers…..and Pelosis of the world.
So why have people continued to elect those who replaced our ‘Best in the world’ education with Communist indoctrination? Why have you allowed Communist despots to remove God from everything?
Fight hard. Or lay down and die.
That is the remaining choice.

And the reason we are where we are today is a lack of people believing in GOD. We have left the Government take religious beliefs from our schools, and the town square. We the people need to stand against this tyranny that posses our Government and tear it down.

One way we can stay strong is to protect the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, most importantly the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th Amendments, and demand that any law passed in United States Congress or State Congress must apply to those that pass the law like everyone else.
We must have integrity in the election process, to insure one person one vote and that no dead people or non-citizen votes in any election.
Government should only provide for the people what they cannot provide for themselves, thing like National Defense, Roads etc. NOT HANDOUTS.
Everyone needs to exercise their right to peaceable Assembly, unless Government say’s you can’t, and then you do whatever it takes to Assemble.

Our news media, then as now, was not, nor is not reflecting the ideals of the above article, nor are our elected (some by questionable means), or appointed leaders. We as a people have not demanded that reflection.
FDR was not a great leader, he was a progressive that kicked the can of our present condition a bit farther out of the starting blocks. Those who was and are like him have all but finished the job. We are at fault, do I have a solution, yes, but it’s too late, and I don’t think the American people has the will or desire for that cure. Now until we have fair elections, term limited representation at all levels, we will not have our Nation as we want it.
The Constitution is not that hard to read and understand, (no LAWYER needed to tell me what it’s meaning is), I try (and fail at times), to apply it’s meaning and principal to my everyday life. We all need to start there. But is it too late?

Stay focused on what we know to be right. We have survived our idiots before and can do so again. The left? They dont ever give up do they? True, we have let our guard down and now we must pay the price. How important is your liberty? Worth fighting for? I am in the process of really trying to understand marxism ,american style. I am reading mark levins book and i highly recommend reading it to truly understand the evil that is arrayed against us. They hate the country ,the constitution and us, you and me. Educate yourselves, arm yourself with the knowledge of what we are being subjected to and why. RESIST!

Pioneering the UN? Come on. That was an unnecessary addition.

This is shocking. How could our military leaders agree to order the military out without the civilians leaving first??
America needs to send back as many troops as it takes to give safe passage to all who should exit.

RBC,

America remains strong through actions and deeds that conform to the principle by which this country was founded. That means everything we do as a nation reflects on how the world perceives us and interacts with us. The views of both our allies and our enemies alike are shaped by the culmination of those actions. Words are nice when one is sitting around a table talking about “the good old days”, but most of the world measures us by our actions and deeds every single day.

I can guarantee you that none of our NATO allies that participated in Afghanistan are thinking about FDR today. Neither are any of the Afghani people. They are thinking about the unreliable and incompetent person currently playing POTUS.

The shift in the world-wide perception of the United States, in the last 8 months, has a direct correlation to the 180 degree shift in almost every major policy and action from the prior administration. We are currently neither feared not respected. A very dangerous place for any country to be, much less the United States of America. It took a LOT OF INCOMPETENCE on the part of the Biden administration to accomplish that task in so little time. No amount of opining about the “good old days” is going to be able to sweep the disastrous performance of this administration away.

Morally upright is mentioned at the beginning of this article. We’re weak now because we’re being judged by God for our behavior. He loves us, but can’t abide our disobedience to His laws. He knows we are sinners, and has offered grace through the cross of Christ to save us, but when we’re saved, our behavior should change. If we’re doing wrong in some area, lying, stealing, adultery, He will forgive, but we are supposed to change. Look up the 10 commandments and see how He wants us to behave. He has predicted these times, and we appear to be near the end.

World wide peace, because of America. Poverty ending for millions, because of America. Ending life altering disease like polio, River Blindness, malaria, deaths from HIV, because of America. Europe free, because of America. Japan rebuilt, because of America. And we’re the bad guys? Does anyone read a history book anymore? Tyranny is being inflicted on the American public and we resist or our way of life and force for good in the world is gone. A world without America? That’s a real tragedy.

What an America we had! Unfortunately far too many Americans have given in to political correctness. I wonder if we actually have enough Americans that would be willing to risk it all for freedom. Certainly not from the educated “elites” and many of the young people brought up in the socialistic teachings of universities and schools. Maybe in the future, we will find out.
