H.R. 5193 – Senior Citizens’ Freedom to Work Act of 2023
Current Social Security rules disincentivize early retirees from earning other income in retirement. The Senior Citizens’ Freedom to Work Act gives retirees the freedom to earn income back by repealing the earnings test. AMAC Action’s letter of support.
H.R. 5337 – Retirement Proxy Protection Act
This bill seeks to remove the deleterious effects of the ESG influence on the fiduciary responsibility of proxy vote managers so they can focus on the benefit of their clients, not the politics of the day. AMAC Action’s letter of support.
H.R. 5338 – No Discrimination in My Benefits Act
This bill works to ensure that financial counselors make the best and fully informed financial decisions “without regard to race, color, religion, sex, or national origin.” AMAC Action’s letter of support.

The Roll back ESG To Increase Retirement Earnings (RETIRE) Act takes great care in explaining the function of applying strictly financial, pecuniary information toward the goal of maximum benefit in the best interest of the participants and beneficiaries enrolled in any given applicable retirement investment vehicle. H.R. 5340 – Providing Complete Information to Retirement Investors Act
This legislation ensures that Americans can influence their investment decisions while not allowing pension providers from abandoning their fiduciary duty to the investor. AMAC Action’s letter of support.

American Conservatism: Concise Guide to Conservatism by Russell Kirk
Chapter 12 – What is the Republic?
In the twelfth and final chapter of Concise Guide to Conservatism, Russell Kirk states, “The aim of our Republic, on the contrary, has been to reconcile classes, protect voluntary associations, and nourish private rights. We do not recognize any “general will,” but only the opinions of private citizens and legitimate groups.”
In the last fifty or more years, we have gradually lost sight of this aim and how to keep our country on the course of protecting the rights and liberties of the people. How did this happen? The People grew complacent and ignorant of the responsibilities and blessings afforded to them. We left the governing to others, forgot the importance of local control, and allowed our country begin the slide into something we no longer recognize as America.
It is as Benjamin Franklin said in 1787, we have a republic. If we can keep it.
Kirk reminds us, “A sense of responsibility is produced by hard lessons, by private risk and accountability, by humane education, by religious principle, by inherited rights and duties.”
As a nation, and as citizens, we are now learning hard lessons. And as Kirk suggests, “We need to undertake the conservative task of restoring in our generation an understanding of that freedom and order which have expressed and encouraged our national genius.”
May we succeed in restoring the Republic to her founding principles.

I have two issues that I would like AMAC to address, if you haven’t already:
I cannot see anywhere where AMAC supports current H.R.82 bill to eliminate WEP and GPO for public workers and teachers. Why is AMAC not writing letters or making their official position known? Am I wrong?
