Thousands of Americans traveled to Washington, D.C., on Friday to participate in the 53rd annual National March for Life rally. President Donald Trump, as well as other elected officials and pro-life activists spoke to attendees throughout the day on the importance of protecting the unborn.
Trump delivered a video message to the crowd and emphasized what his administration has accomplished to reduce and eventually end abortion in the country. In 2020, he became the first sitting president to attend the March for Life in person. In his remarks for this year’s event, the president explained the importance of taking a stand for the unborn.
“In my first term, I was honored to appoint judges and justices who believed in interpreting the Constitution as written. That was a big deal,” Trump said. “And because of that, the pro-life movement won the greatest victory in its history. Now the work to rebuild the culture that supports life continues in every state, every community, and every part of our beautiful land.”
In his first term, Trump appointed three new justices to the Supreme Court – Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barrett. In 2022, the Supreme Court overruled Roe v. Wade in the landmark decision of Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization. All three of the justices appointed by Trump ruled in the majority that the Constitution does not grant the right to abortion.
Trump then praised what his administration is accomplishing now to support the pro-life movement.
“We’re bringing back faith in America,” he said. “We’re bringing back God. We’ve stopped forced taxpayer funding of abortion at home and abroad. We’re championing faith-based adoption and foster care and supporting our parents by investing $1,000 into an account that will grow over time for every newborn baby. With your help and support, we will continue to fight for the eternal truth that every child is a gift from God.”
Vice President JD Vance spoke at the National March for Life rally in person on Friday. He stated during his speech that “scripture tells us each life is fearfully and wonderfully made by our Creator.” The vice president then called out leftists for lying to young Americans.
“Today, the far-left in this country tells our young people that marriage and children are obstacles—that it’s irresponsible, even immoral… to encourage our young people to raise a family. But we here at this march, we know that it’s a lie,” Vance said. “We know that life is a gift. We know that babies are precious… We know that family is not just the source of a great joy, but it’s part of God’s design.”
The Vice President jokingly proclaimed that he has proven his family is pro-life with the recent news that he and Second Lady Usha Vance are having their fourth child in July.
“Let the record show, you have a vice president who practices what he preaches,” he said. “Usha and I announced this week that we’re expecting our fourth. And it will be our third baby boy, so we’ll take whatever prayers you can give — we certainly need them.”
House Speaker Mike Johnson also delivered an address to those in attendance. He revealed that he was the product of an unplanned pregnancy and how he appreciates his parents for choosing life.
“I was born in January 1972. It was almost exactly one year before Roe v. Wade became the law of the land,” Johnson said. “I was the product of an unplanned teen pregnancy, and I am so eternally grateful that my mom and dad ignored all the people who told them to just take care of that problem. And they chose to embrace life and to have me, the first of their four children.”
The speaker also praised Trump and Republicans for their pro-life and pro-family achievements over the past year, specifically in the One Big Beautiful Bill.
“We worked hard to expand the child tax credit, to enhance the adoption tax credit, and we launched the first of its kind – Trump investment accounts for every newborn in America… For the first time ever, we finally defunded big abortion, and it was a long time coming,” he said. “We stand here today with one united voice to affirm that federal government should not be subsidizing any industry that profits from the elimination of human life.”
The White House also published a list of its pro-life actions to correspond with the event. These accomplishments include finalizing “a historic expansion of the Mexico City Policy to bar U.S. foreign assistance from directly or indirectly subsidizing abortion, gender ideology, or DEI programs,” announcing an end to the “use of fetal tissue of aborted babies in federally-funded research,” and moving to “roll back a Biden-era policy that guaranteed on-demand, taxpayer-funded abortions for unaccompanied illegal alien children.”
Tens of thousands of pro-lifers attended the event in person this year despite winter weather bearing down on the capital and much of the Eastern United States. March for Life also announced that it reached more than 170 million people online and through social media.

Thanks to Newsmax coverage I was able to see the massive crowd of young people attending this event. I do not believe the government should be telling women what to do with their own bodies, BUT, I am no longer Pro-Choice. Abortion is NOT birth control. I live in OR (yeah, I know) but there is a conservative newspaper published in Southern OR and I read an article written by a doctor who USED TO provide abortions. It was quite graphic about removing body parts, etc and I’ll bet if people read that article they would no longer believe in abortion either! Interesting that the government had never had ANY legislation about men’s body parts.
To the women who say “it’s my body I will do what I want with it”, just stop and think. That innocent human life growing in your womb is not your body, it is another body within your body.
Several years ago I found myself having a conversation with a democrat woman. The subject of abortion came up and as a retired RN, I set about explaining the process of partial birth abortion. I described that as the head of the baby exited the birth canal, an incision was made at the base of the skull and a suction catheter was placed into the opening, then the suction is turned on and the contents of the skull (that being the brain) were removed, thereby ending the life of that particular infant. She covered her ears like on of the “see no evil, hear no evil monkeys , and said “oh, don’t say it like that!” I replied “there is no other way to say it. “ we are all pro-choice, it’s just a matter of, are you choosing life or death?
Can YOU recall that year when Dr James Dobson n Shirley along w estimated 250k were marching 4LIFE in DC? What year? Of course the GODless liberal msm lied skewed low the numbers or didn’t cover. Shameful.
