Senior citizens, those who have lived in, loved, and supported America their whole lives are forcefully subject to losing services they heavily rely on. The Democrats must sign the Continuing Resolution to stop the shutdown, allow federal agencies to continue to operate, stop playing political warfare, and put Americans first.
The American people are the ones suffering during the Schumer Shutdown, not the politicians. Democrats are failing to put Americans first and would rather stomp their feet than find a resolution.

Let’s get something straight! The Schumer/Democrat shutdown is NOT about preserving subsidies for illegals health care. It’s clearly about preserving the abhorrent transfer of our tax dollars to insurance companies that are the greatest funding mechanism the Democrat party ever had. Obamacare has always been a way for our tax dollars, via subsidies for low income people, to be paid, without fail, to the insurance companies.
Remember when Obama was upset that young Adults would rather pay the “tax” penalty instead of purchasing expensive medical insurance they may never use. Most of these people would qualify for subsidies, as would all the transients they signed up. The subsidies always get paid so the insurance companies never lose money. Most of the ACA plans had high deductibles, so very few people actually received covered services. The subsidies got paid to the insurance companies and were increased. Like any government program (read student loans) when the government increases subsidies, the prices go up and the insurance companies make more money —- and give more to their benefactors, the Democrat party and candidates.
Democrats see their funding scheme going away and are willing to enact a scorched earth program to protect it.
Wake up and tell your Senator you won’t stand for it! Likewise, it’s time our representatives stop with continuing resolutions and stop gap measures then get back to a full budget process.
Democrats are totally wrong and will be held accountable.
Shumer’s shut down is hurting the democrats in ways they don’t see, or understand. When they finally do understand, it will be too late for them. Most Americans are smarter than they want to believe. Democrats are the one ones who keep voting against opening the government. We the people are not buying that democrats even come close to caring about anything that benefits us real citizens.
Dems were once extremely good at hiding real intent in plain sight, their tacked on expenses that benefit non americans always seem to be in the mix of every budget and subsequent government shutdown. Dems notoriously tacking on pork to bills in order to pass other legislation has always been a democrat condition and the federal budget is no exception. Plain language with single line items would be a welcome change.

I just read because of the “left”, we, senior citizens, widows, widowers, still have to pay taxes on our social security. I am a 70 year old widow, still working to make ends meet, and have to pay higher taxes than 2 men who say they are married and live together. I also have heard that our medicare premiums are rising while illegals are getting free healthcare. Come on Schumer!!! Who are you really supporting and giving money to???

If this shutdown is just about paying for medical care which it truly isn’t. The conservatives better be formulating a better way of paying for healthcare during this break time and be ready to present it when shutdown ends otherwise this problem just keeps coming again and again
Most of the agencies that are shut down are unconstitutional and should remain shut down once the budget issue is resolved.

I remember a time where both both political parties had the best interest of the country at heart. If one of the parties lost to the other, they could still be counted on to do the best for the good of the citizens. I hate to disparage anyone, but the Democrat leaders refuse to cooperate. I guess i’m among the lucky ones. The shut down hasn’t affected me at all. Even if my small disability payment doesn’t come through from the veterans administration it won’t hurt me.
