Vote yes. This November, Mainers get the chance to vote “yes” on a referendum question: Should Maine voters be required to show an ID to vote, the way they do to buy beer? In a state with 8,300 out-of-state students, 8,000 non-citizen aliens, and Democrats voting for “sanctuary status,” are we really debating this? Obviously, Maine – and other states at risk for fraud – need Voter ID to assure honest elections.
Why, then, are we getting pushback? Why did Democrat Governor Janet Mills’ Democrat Secretary of State, running for the Democrat gubernatorial nomination – who threw Trump off the ballot and gave licenses to illegal aliens – intentionally rewrite that referendum question to be confusing?
Why have all the Democrat candidates running for Governor opposed this check on voter fraud and illegal voting, or remained silent, if – as they profess – they believe in election integrity, honesty?
Why did the all-Democrat Maine Supreme Court not straighten out the confusion, mandate a rewrite of the convoluted referendum language – putting Voter ID last? Why just let it stand?
Why has no Democrat member of the Democrat majority in Maine’s legislature spoken for election integrity, for guarding against voter fraud, for requiring voters to identify themselves as Mainers – assuring illegals and out-of-state students do not vote twice, in the state of residence and in Maine?
Why have none of the Maine Trust Papers, underwritten by avowed anarchist George Soros, not stepped up to endorse the referendum, an obvious and overdue check on voter fraud in Maine?
Why does no one tell the truth? The truth is that only 14 states have no Voter ID requirements, all controlled by Democrats, including California, Oregon, Nevada, Minnesota, Illinois, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Mexico, Maryland – and Maine.
Truth is that 46 countries have learned the hard way that NO VOTER ID EQUALS FRAUD – and so they require voter identification to cast a vote in any election. While boring, to prove the point, here they are: Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Ireland, India, Israel, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Poland, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Luxembourg, India, Israel, Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, Pakistan, Japan, Russia, England (most elections), Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, Uruguay, Paraguay, Bolivia, and Mexico
Obviously, Janet Mills is not the Governor of any of these countries, and Shanna Bellows is not the Secretary of State for any, and none have a senior staffer named Hannah Pingree, or a former state legislator running for Governor named Troy Jackson, let alone a legacy candidate named Angus King III.
Bottom line: All these countries have met fraud and beat it – with the requirement that voters come to vote with an ID card showing who they are, resident, legal, and entitled to vote. If they and 36 US states can do it, so can Maine. We either believe in honest elections, or we do not. Republicans do. Mainers should. Vote yes.

He wrote “Narcotics and Terrorism” (2003), “Eagles and Evergreens” (North Country Press, 2018), and “Cherish America: Stories of Courage, Character, and Kindness” (Tower Publishing, 2024). He is the National Spokesman for AMAC. Today, he is running to be Maine’s next Governor (please visit BobbyforMaine.com to learn more)!

During the last election I watched the democrats go to the local food bank and tell the people, that were waiting for their food, if they didn’t register democrat to vote, they wouldn’t be able to get any food. I reported the individuals to the State republican party and the next time the democrats weren’t there. Most of the people couldn’t even speak English. The democrats had a person telling them in Spanish how to register and many didn’t even have an Id. I went to the food bank because one of the workers there complain to me what the democrats were doing to the poor families.
I live in Oregon, a 100% vote by mail state. Dems claimed no illegals were voting, then they found 1600 plus (and those were the ones they admitted to). Oregon gives illegals Drivers licenses and automatically registers you to vote, even if you DON’T check the box. I know, because I moved and purposely did NOT check box, got new voter registration anyway. Its shameless. Luckily a LOT of “people of color” are waking up to the manipulation. By the way, since when is white NOT a color?
I will Pray for you in November you are right voter I D should be manditory
Democrats know that if they can’t cheat they can’t win. They will fight voter ID tooth and nail and never give up. You have to show ID to do everything else even to get into a Democrat event, but not to vote. They claim there’s no voter fraud. If there is no voter fraud than ID is not going to cause a problem is it. But they know what’s going to happen they will never get elected again if voter id is enacted. Let’s make sure that happens, Democrats destroy everything they touch, spend the rest of their time trying to blame somebody else.
I live in Miami Dade County Florida, we are required to show ID to drop off yard debris at the solid waste station, and there are many other situations that require ID. How can any one think we should not show ID for one of our most important rights as US citizens. As a legal Cuban emigrant I gladly show my ID. These left leaning folks should go spend some time in Cuba or Venezuela to understand that this nation with all its faults is still the best place to live. Being an American is a privilege no matter your back ground. We need to preserve the right to those who are either born or legally migrated and became citizens of this great country.
The reason Democrats vote no to voter ID is because they are trying to destroy our country. They do not want to remain a capitalistic, free speech, freedom-loving country. They do not want the Constitution to be our ruling document..THEY want to be the ones who make all the rules and oppress all of we, the people. Their aim right now is to create chaos by letting criminals run free, by destroying the family unit and by banning religion. They are now putting more black people into government positions and seeing that only Communists are candidates for office. They love the racial strife and they are not going to back down. Our only defense is to keep the out of our government as long as possible and to fight their lies and their evil policies and actions.
Why, indeed, to all these questions. There should be no argument from any American citizen of any party! To deny this proof of citizenship is a traitorous act.
Had the ID been to dem’s. advantage they would insist on it and demand it. Simple as that. Anything goes as far as they are concerned, if it’s to their advantage. Cheat, steal, lie, perjury, there are no limits. Election Democrats way. No law is willing to reach them and deal with them properly, accordingly to the written law. As long as that lasts they have a free hand.
I was just at the doctor’s office today for some blood work and a physical and I had to show both my ID–driver’s license and Medical insurance card–before getting called into the office, and I have the enhanced driver’s license–so why is it so hard to require ID to vote. That excuse that t is discriminatory to require one, is not true.
Voter identification is not something new. I am 69 and as a child my mother worked at the polling places in Miami, Florida with the old manual machines. I know that even then there was proof that you were a registered voter. So I am not sure why ID should be an issue.
I am watching the news right now and they have announced the death of Charlie Kirk. Our Country needs to stop and pray.
If this fails demand that zero IDs exist…
I worked for the Secretary of State, Division of Elections in Tallahassee, FL during the 2000 election. At that time all state voting laws were overridden by Federal law. I believe that is still true. So, I suggest, if these states want to let non-US citizens vote, they should have separate polling places, separate ballots, separate ballot boxes/software for local elections at the expense of the state/county. The ballots, software and voters should not be combined with federal ballots and polling places and legal registered US citizen voters in any shape, form or fashion.
An ID should be required to vote in all states. And mail in voting is fine as long as ID is required for ballots.
I think it should be required in all states and no illegals period. You would think the federal government would be able to make a voter ID required for any federal election.
