Just a few weeks ago, it was widely thought that Israel and the terrorist group Hamas were nearing a deal to end the war in Gaza. In that deal, Hamas leadership would agree to go into exile, Israeli hostages would be freed from their hellish captivity, and surrounding Arab nations could help fund the rebuilding of a more peaceful Gaza Strip.
That, at least, was the hope.
And then it all fell apart.
It fell apart for one simple reason: Hamas understands the West far better than the West understands Hamas. Hamas understands that if it forces the suffering of its own people, if it maximizes and even falsifies media coverage of that suffering, then the West will rehabilitate Hamas and grant it its demands. Hamas understands that Westerners are utterly ignorant to the true evil of Hamas, their willingness to multiply the suffering of Palestinians and Israelis alike, to starve their own citizens as well as Israeli hostages, to sacrifice Palestinian children by placing them in the line of fire, all for the cameras; Hamas understands that myopic and self-centered Westerners will simply project their own biases and values onto Hamas, thus granting them unearned innocence and sympathy; Hamas understands that the media would facilitate all of this, elevating a false oppressor/oppressed narrative above the truth.
And so it has gone. Over the past three weeks, international institutions like the United Nations, which has become a front group for Hamas, began announcing that mass starvation was affecting the Strip. Instead of then facilitating the entry of aid, the U.N. refused to allow in any aid accompanied by the Israeli military, specifically so that Hamas could loot it. Meanwhile, the media began blasting out pictures of starving Gazan children – many of whom were not suffering from malnutrition in the main, but from genetic diseases; the German newspapers Bild and Suddeutsche Zeitung reported this week that the media featured manipulated and staged photos from Palestinian photographers.
As a result, last week, the U.K., France, and Canada, in an effort to demonstrate their supposed moral rectitude and to placate their large radical Muslim minorities, announced that they would forthwith support the creation of a Palestinian state. That announcement immediately scuttled the impending deal between Israel and Hamas, giving Hamas what it wanted on a silver platter. This conclusion was openly touted by Hamas official Ghazi Hamad, who bragged, “The initiative by several countries to recognize a Palestinian state is one of the fruits of October 7.”
How untouchable does Hamas feel, thanks to the moral imbecility of the media, international institutions, and politicians in the West? Last week, they released a video of hostage Evyatar David, worn down to skin and bones, digging his own grave. They knew that their friends in the international institutions would say nothing, that the media would bury its coverage and that politicians would utter empty words while continuing to pressure Israel. And they were right.
Hamas has the West’s number. And the West continues to fall for their every trick, because too many in the West, on a fundamental level, do not understand their enemies – or, worse, believe that the only true enemy is Western chauvinism or intransigence. For now, this witlessness may have seemingly mild consequences. But stupidity always comes at a price. And for stupidity on a scale this grand, the price will be bloody.

As I have made comments on this site for years about the Islamic faith — they will hold to an agreement with another Islamic organization while ANY DEAL with a non-Islamic organization is not worth the paper that it is written on. Until the West stops babying Islamic organizations and realize what is truly happening, the West will continue to get pie in the face while Islamic nations continue to roll in laughter. Israel has offered the Palestinians a state in the land for peace deals multiple times: in 1947, in 2000, and in 2008.
Each time, the answer was the same: NO!
Why?
Because the goal has never been a state next to Israel.
The goal has always been an islamic state instead of Israel.
From Hamas to Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and even the so-called “moderate” Palestinian Authority, the objective is clear and written into their charters: Destroy Israel, the Jewish people and replace them with an Islamic state.
The islamics don’t want peace.
They want conquest and destruction of The Jewish people.
This is why every peace negotiation fails.
It’s not because Israel is unwilling to compromise.
It’s because jihad doesn’t compromise.
It conquers—or dies trying.
It has been obvious what Hamas & the Palestinians are doing. I believe Netanyahu understands it, and I hope President Trump does. It’s time for “gloves off” – and take back the land that Israel generously gave to the “Palestinians” years ago. God deeded that land to Israel when He liberated them from Egypt. It is still theirs, and Israel does not need to give it away. There is plenty of unoccupied land in the Mideast- send the Palestinians (and Hamas, too!) there.
Hamas like bolshevik will use it’s people to advance it’s cause. Human life means nothing to them. To them west is weak and squeamish, and theyknow how to manipulate that,they understand west better then it understands itself. It needs to open it’s eyes and see that this is not la vie an rose. After decades of water being poured in the sand it should be evident even to the most obtuse.
Im sad saying this but the left/marxists understand pyschology better than conservatives do. Why? They’re predators and thus study their victims. Conservatives believe in ‘live and let live’ ,and mind their own business going about their pursuit of happiness.
General Sherman had the right idea on his march to the sea. He said a crow would have to carry rations if it crossed the path of his army. You win by destroying the ability of the enemy to live and fight. That is why Germany was bombed into rubble in WWII.
Hamas doesn’t want a two-state solution. They want Israel gone. seems to me Israel and her allies are the ONLY ones who understand this.
It is obvious to more than Hamas! Look at the democrat party and the number of grossly misinformed voters that continue to elect and re-elect communist, Islamic jihadist, socialist and racist. It must be true that liberalism in a mental illness. No freedom loving, patriotic American would vote for Schumer, Pelosi, Waters, Schiff, Swalwell, AOC, Omar, Hakim Jeffries, Jasmine Crocket, or the NYC Muslim communist running for mayor. Democrats have a myopic view of a democratic republic and the God given freedoms it enables.
This country is being put at risk for foreigners who allow Americans, Christian Palestinians and Catholic Palestinians to be killed. Shameful.
Now we, US Americans, are considered to be “imbeciles” when it comes to understanding Hamas.
I think we understand very well how morally corrupt they are with their inhumanity to fellow human beings.
It is abhorrent to use any infant, child, man, woman and even the elderly as a shield or pawn in their idea of warfare.
There is nothing “honorable” about their actions and political lies.
They are correct in our lack of understanding of their cause, because we place a value on humanity!

This article is absolutely correct. Hamas is like the poverty stricken children and ill and hungry animals they show on television, particularly during the western holiday seasons. However, no one EVER fixes the underlying issues – the real problems. The issue here is Hamas. Past time to draw that line in the sand with Hamas – this article needs to be on every news channel in the western world – Hamas needs to be run out of Dodge. Who will kill more – them or us – who will kill more in the long run – Hamas has killed far more already.
IF the goal of Hamas is the eradication of all the non-muslims from the muslims in the world, just how TF is this ‘deal’ supposed to be honored?!
