Dems Hatch Another Plot to Pack Supreme Court

After suffering a series of losses before the U.S. Supreme Court, leftists in Congress are once again trying to remake the court to suit their own political purposes.

Sen. Ron Wyden, D-Ore., on Thursday introduced the Judicial Modernization and Transparency Act, which would expand the number of Supreme Court justices from nine to 15 over the next 12 years, radically reshaping the federal judiciary.

According to the provisions of Wyden’s legislation, federal circuit and district courts would also be expanded, adding 60 new circuit judges and at least 100 new district judges.

“The Supreme Court is in crisis and bold solutions are necessary to restore the public trust,” Wyden said in a press release. “More transparency, more accountability, and more checks on a power-hungry Supreme Court are just what the American people are asking for.”

But they’re not, according to polls. A survey published late last month revealed that nearly 60% of Americans oppose adding justices to the Supreme Court and agree that efforts “to expand the membership of the U.S. Supreme Court are primarily motivated by political objectives.”

Additionally, 57% of Americans believe that a separate branch of government (such as Congress) imposing an “ethics code” on the Supreme Court would undermine its authority and threaten the independence of the judiciary.

Yet an “ethics code” is also part of Wyden’s proposed legislation. His bill would force all justices to respond publicly to recusal motions and forcibly recuse a justice from a case “upon the affirmative vote of” his fellow justices.

The bill would also demand “the public disclosure of how each justice voted for any case within the appellate jurisdiction of the Supreme Court” and would give the Internal Revenue Service sweeping authority to regularly audit justices and publish the results of their audits.

Furthermore, the legislation would require either the Supreme Court or an appellate court to have a two-thirds “supermajority” in order to reverse congressional acts found to be unconstitutional.

Democrats have been working to undermine the Supreme Court’s authority since last year, when several smear campaigns were launched in the media, primarily targeting Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito, both of whom were part of the court majority that overturned Roe v. Wade in 2022. Thomas and Alito were accused of unethical conduct related to expense-paid vacations with wealthy friends and Republican donors.

Alito was subsequently targeted for his conservative political views and the political views of his wife, including the publication of secret recordings in which Alito and his wife discussed their Catholic faith with a reporter who was posing as a conservative at a Supreme Court Historical Society dinner.

The reports were met with calls from Democrats, such as Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, for Thomas and Alito to resign from the bench.

Earlier this summer, President Joe Biden introduced his own plans for weakening the nation’s highest court via constitutional amendments: enforcing an “ethics code” devised by Congress and imposing 18-year term limits on justices, which would immediately take effect and remove Thomas, Alito, and Chief Justice John Roberts from the court.

Biden also introduced plans to undo the court’s recent ruling on presidential immunity. In her dissent from the court’s majority opinion, Justice Sonia Sotomayor controversially suggested that Biden might order a Navy SEAL team to assassinate former President Donald Trump. Two weeks later, a would-be assassin shot Trump at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

Conservatives in Congress have pledged to oppose Biden’s Supreme Court “reform” proposals, many of which are similar (though less expansive) than Wyden’s. Indirectly responding to the Democrats’ designs on the court, Justice Neil Gorsuch asked last month, “The independent judiciary … what does it mean to you as an American?”

Gorsuch continued: “It means that when you’re unpopular you can get a fair hearing, under the law and under the Constitution. If you’re in the majority, you don’t need judges and juries to hear you and protect your rights—you’re popular.”

He asked again: “Don’t you want a ferociously independent judge and a jury of your peers to make those decisions? Isn’t that your right as an American? And so I just say, ‘Be careful.’”

The Democrats have been trying to pack the SC since the days of FDR. Every time the Court isn’t overwhelmingly biased in favor of the Dems, the Democrats trot out another plan to pack the SC to turn it into a rubber stamp for their socialist policies. Ever notice that their response to everything is do wipe out their opposition and act in a purely dictatorial fashion? It’s who they are, despite all their lies about wanting to supposedly protect democracy. Yet for all their obvious actions over the decades, which keep highlighting who they really are time and time again, the American people keep voting for the very people that want to permanently enslave them. No wonder so much of the world thinks a significant percentage of the American people are stupid.

The only reason why the democrats are doing this is because the courts aren’t ruling the way the democrats want them to. In other words, rubberstamping their agenda no matter what the Constitution says. The democrats want liberal. activist judges who will make laws from the bench which is NOT their job. If judges want to make law, they need to resign from the bench and become legislators by running for and being elected to the legislative branch whose job it is to make laws. If democrats can’t get their agenda passed via the legislative process, maybe their agenda is the problem.

The democrat 2 year olds party can only get their way by cheating, rigging, and packing courts. They believe they are above the law which only applies to everyone else but them. They have been violating the Constitution and law for decades. By packing the U.S. Supreme Court is the only way they can fully implement their Communist agenda.

We do not need more justices on the SCOTUS. Nine is a good number.

The only job of the SC is to determine whether a law comports with the Constitution or not. If a Federal law is found to not be ascribed to the Federal government, it is sent back to the individual states per the 10th amendment. Trying to twist and contort the English language is total BS. Words mean things, just read them.

Sen. Ron Wyden and all Democrats want to seal the deal of getting rid of all political opponents, all opposition!! But isn’t that called socialism, communism – not what this country is about!!

Why are the liberal heads exploding? After all, they have a radical BLM-supporting justice who is female but couldn’t define “woman” during her Senate confirmation hearing. And, the constitutional justices have been known to occasionally side with the liberal justices on some rulings.

The demoncrats are extreme enemies of the United States of America, and i declare this not because they have different opinions on matters, but because they openly want to destroy the constitution, censor anyone with a contrary belief, eliminate a two or more party system, they want Marxist rule that only serves them, they want to eliminate all conservatives as terrorists and kill all Christians. Plus many other draconian demands that would end freedom and destroy this country.

The SCOTUS is not the problem. These so-called “democrats” are the problem because they are NOT Democrats. They have all come out and told us they are socialists, communists, marxists, maoists and any other vile “ist” you can think of. American Citizens who are true Democrats need to stand up and put and end to this takeover of the Democratic Party. These “democrats” are rotten to the core and they are in lockstep with the united nations to destroy the United States of America. Why are we spending taxpayer money to fund an organization that is trying to destroy us? Why is the US pay the dues for other countries. It’s beyond ridiculous and it’s past time for us to withdraw and kick them the heck out of our Country.

I have a radical idea: one Chief Justice, nominated by the President and confirmed by the Senate, and one associate Justice from each State in the Union, nominated by the Governor and confirmed by the State Legislature. That would emphasize the Federal nature of the Court and also make it harder for any party to manipulate the political makeup of the Court. Of court, we’d need a bigger building for them. lol
