It’s kinda like sending Missionaries out into the country. Our athletes are light in the dark over there. How can others see the way of light if we don’t send our missionaries to teach or be examples of God. Even if they only influence or share with one , maybe it will have a ripple effect. There are many ways to look at the games and what the overall outcome will be in years to come . Do we condone what China does, absolutely not. We need to be the better, show the better. Because of China and the loss of human life, and of the freedoms we used to enjoy, we have all suffered immensely. The Olympics should have been taken from them and awarded to another country. After all, the millions and millions of dollars that China will receive from tourism and everything else associated with the Olympics, that regime doesn’t deserve. Especially with the human rights violations that the government there carries out on a regular daily basis. This was an extremely poor choice to hold the games there, and my family and myself refuse to watch a single second of it.

I would have liked to watch the opening ceremony because they did such an amazing job last time they held the Olympics, but I had to stick with my principles and take a pass. But it was only a peek, I couldn’t stomach the thought of all that money being spent in such frivolous ways, when so many in China are suffering at the hands of that government!
