All of the above should be a choice. Teaching children seems to be a given but with our teachers today being so liberal and trying to indoctrinate and brainwash this our children it makes sense to be here. Sad that it takes a day like 9/11 to bring us together but sadder that the “motto” we will never forget is soon forgotten. Seeing NYC elect a communist, Muslims in congress, shows how real Americans must stand together and protect the spirit that made this country great.

On July 3, 1776, John Adams wrote his wife Abigail a letter in which he expressed his hope the day of the Declaration of Independence would become “the great anniversary Festival.” Adams expected that it would be “commemorated, as the Day of Deliverance,” first “by solemn Acts of Devotion to God Almighty,” then followed by “Shews, Games, Sports, Guns, Bells, Bonfires and Illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other.”

Adams also admitted in his letter to his wife, he was “well aware of the Toil and Blood and Treasure that it would cost Us to maintain this Declaration,” not just for the duration of the Revolutionary War, but for the duration of America herself. He was well aware, as he put it, that a genuine commemoration of Independence Day would require “solemn Acts of Devotion to God Almighty.”

Yes, all the “traditions” listed in this poll are ways to demonstrate our allegiance to the greatest nation on earth and freedoms with which we are blessed. Yet in addition to these traditions we will experience its holiday festivity only if we heed Adams’ advice and treat it as a day of sacrifice and prayer for our country. This we should do both by giving thanks and praise in our houses of worship, and by reviving the tradition of public readings of the declaration, so that we may better contemplate the truths that it holds dear

I encourage you to check out my four-part series on SubStack (dot com) about our what our Founding Fathers envisioned, as we celebrate our 250th year of Independence. Happy Birthday America!

“Make thankfulness your sacrifice to God, and keep the vows you made to the Most High.”                                                              Psalm 50:14

Those are some tough choices, and all good ones. The USA isn’t perfect, but whatever is next behind us is not even close!

Teaching our children our history and why we are the greatest nation on earth. Happy 250th birthday, America!! May God bless you and keep you in the shadow of His wings! May we as patriots fight with all our mights to keep what was entrusted to us by God Almighty and our Forefathers!

Teaching children about America’s founding. The good and the bad. We must teach the whole history… which, in its totality, is that of the greatest country the world has ever seen. We shouldn’t hide from the sad parts, like slavery, interning Japanese residents, etc. Only from studying history can we hope to avoid repeating our mistakes.

Actually all of the choices are honoring the USA, but if we don’t teach the children, the next generation won’t feel that passion.

Teaching our children is no.1 in my book. Without their knowledge of why we have Independence Day, means we lose future generations of Patriots.
They already are pretty much clueless, because most teachers anymore are socialist/communists. So it’s up to parents to teach them about why we have Independence Day. The other things listed are good, but our future generation of believers in God and patriotism is and always should be no.1!

These are all fine – but if we want patriotism to survive, we need to teach our children about our founding and the magnificent Constitution our illustrious Founders gave us. Our education system has failed to teach that socialism produces only despair, destruction and death. The mass deportation of those who refuse to embrace our founding principles wouldn’t hurt either.

Without our History being taught to generation after generation we lose that sense of Patriotism that always has a way of bringing our culturally diverse Nation together. We have come a long way as a nation, who has had our social battles from within and we were making even greater strides in a positive direction towards truly becoming color blind to the many different races that make up this Great Union. Then Obama came in like a wolf in sheeps clothing. He did his job well of sowing chaos like a good Socialist Soldier that Saul Alinsky, Obamas Hero, would’ve been proud of. Obamas entry came with careful planning. Everyone should remember thinking to themselves, who is this guy that’s beloved by Oprah, and by entertainers and Democratic Politicians? No one really knew what he stood for, but his delivery was so calm and confident without arrogance, that America fell in love with him. From the start of his National campaign there was one phrase that he said many, many times and that was, “I want to change the fundamentals of the United States of America.” He was telling us all along what his end game was and nobody picked up on it. So he was the Golden Child of the Socialist Democratic Party (Formerly known as the Democratic Party) that had been waiting for that special politician with the delivery like silk. Meanwhile, the Department of Education had been indoctrinating our children slowly in order to not draw attention. We now see the results from the young people in colleges and Universities. American parents were asleep at the wheel as public education started making their moves toward a slow brainwashing that most people couldn’t see. We are now hearing talk of an upcoming Civil War in small circles of Patriots. They say it’s inevitable because the Socialists see this time as their only chance to “Fundamentally change the United Staes of America”.

We must preserve and protect our Nation from becoming what every other Great Nation had become, before their fall. There are those that build up, and there are those that destroy and tear down. We must stand strong against the greatest force of communist ideology this Nation has ever seen! President Trump sees it, so should we all.

Yes to all of these, one doesn’t belong above the others (except for the ones I don’t list here):
* National Anthem
* Pledge of Allegiance
* Flying our flag (my vote ’cause I have to pick one)
* Historic sites

There are still some radio stations (but very few these days it seems who “begin the broadcast day” or do a sign-off at sunset by playing The Star-Spangled Banner, and whenever I hear it, even at home, any time of the year, I stand and wipe the tears from my eyes. It’s just so beautiful, the flag and the music. And right now just thinking about it. God bless you all!

If we don’t teach our children the real meanings of patriotism than the other activities mean nothing! They just become something that IS done but with no meaning behind them. Children need to know the reasons why and we have that responsibility and obligation to teach them the truth. We owe it to those who came before, those who made the sacrifices so that we might enjoy the blessings of being American citizens. And we have the obligation to keep that citizenship pure and not diluted by pregnancy tourists and illegals. There is no such thing as “birth-right citizenship!” Sorry SCOTUS, you got this wrong!

All of these are great traditions that capture the American Spirit. May our flag continue to stand for all the great things about America. Thankful for a President who appreciates and respects our country. God has truly blessed America. I pray He continues to do so.

I believe the tradition that best represents the spirit of America today, after 250 years of Independence from England, is that although we do not have a Tea Tax, “We the People” elect representatives that give us a multitude of other taxes.

“We the People” elect representatives that pass laws and ordinances that restrict our right to “Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness”

“We the People” elect representatives who retire as multimillionaires, while increasing our outrageous National Debt.

Is this what the founding fathers envisioned for America???

The lack of civic education has reached an all-time high. Our children, our grandchildren, great grandchildren’s civic literacy is dangerously low. This is how true Patriotism becomes extinct, and with it goes the “land of the free”.
Demand your school systems make the correction! Teach the children well!

Remember that the reason we are celebrating 250 years as a republic is because our God in heaven gave us this nation and our freedom. Praise be to our Creator God and Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. May God continue to bless America, as we live to glorify Him.

I put down teaching the children about the founding of America but they should of had a choice “all of the above.” I think they are all important and you leave out just one and you are missing.

If we give away any of these in anyway we have failed the next generations in the total education and have failed those who have given so much for the freedoms that we enjoy.
So many people take it for granted that we will always be free. Wake up and get busy with all your talents and voice for God and country now.

Please remember, if we don’t teach the children, then we won’t have any of the other choices available. That this is true is never more obvious than today watching the utter ignorance and stupidity we are seeing with people voting for out and out Communism. I’d love to send all those folks to Russia/China/Cuba, etc and keep those folks here visiting for the FIFA matches. THEY seem to get the difference.

As mentioned all of these are important but doing these things without the WHY may turn into mindless habits.
We must teach our youth the importance and cost of a free Republic, the difference is a monarchy, socialism, communism, democracy, and republic. Otherwise they will easily be beguiled by the promises of free bus rides and low rent.

I believe all answers are great as We The People cannot give in to the radical people, communists, socialist who reside within the U.S.A. who want to change America. If you Love our Constitutional Republic you will fight to keep it!!!! LIFE, LIBERTY & The pursuit of happiness!! No other country is like the U.S.A.

All of the above have great merit in my heart. Sadly, the last one is no longer valued by our Education System in this Country. We now live in a Country where flying our Flag is no longer appreciated. I live in a Community that does not allow us to fly the Flag. So I now have a small flag taped to the window in my kitchen and they cannot tell me to take it down since it is inside. Very sad also that they allow the flags of other Countries to be flown. This is the USA, honor it or leave it.

All of these are of equal importance. Lately it’s become clear that so many young people have a lack of knowledge of American history. It’s imperative that we all take the initiative to fill the gaps…learning is an ongoing process

As like many comments, they are all great answers. I don’t know about the rest of you, but seeing all the comments on social media by visitors from abroad to the US for the world cup have been inspiring to me. When someone experiences our country for the first time and loves it, it is wonderful to see their reactions, but also saddens me that the media has portrayed us differently not only here nationally, but internationally as well.
Shame on the media, the entire glut of all the parasites!

My choice was teaching children the founding fathers’ principles on which they based the birth of this awesome country. God demanded His chosen people to teach and train their children what He did for them. How He spoke to Abraham, Issac and Jacob. How He led them out of Egypt and how He continually provided for them, and He also demanded that they in turn follow Him as their ONLY GOD! This was their downfall, they failed to teach their children from generation to generation.

If America is going continue to be the city on the hill that is the light and salt to this evil world, it must continue to teach, and to do so without changing the narrative to fit what woke intruders attempt to do.

Celebrate today the fact that you live in the greatest Country on Earth, look around, God’s great Blessings on this great Nation are everywhere!
However you do it, celebrate, our freedoms were hard won and our eternal vigilance along with firm reliance on God are necessary to keep those freedoms!

Teaching students is a given. We need to pass on the truth about history because no one else will if we do not. Also, we desperately need virtue in society and in elected officials. Unfortunately, since the passing of the generation of Lee and Davis, we have suffered a total lack of integrity and principles in public discourse as the republic faded from memoery and the iron hand of empire replaced it.
