This too shal pass.
Fact….2022 average American gas price was $5+ without a war we are now fighting. Why was that Biden and Dems???
Everyone in the country knows once Iran is stabilized gas prices will come down dramatically.
It is worth the current sacrifice to neutralize Iran. YES.
This is a meaningful fight for future America.

President Trump is cleaning up Jimmy Carters mess, this should have been dealt with in 1979 when our Iranian ally was ousted by terrorists, there was no vote by the people of Iran. These are animals and should be dealt with like a rapid dog.

Gas prices will go down considerably before the end of year.
I know the dems are wishing they stay high at least till the November elections.
I hope smart Americans understand why they are temporarily high.
We’re on the the right path.
Have faith.

We have our own oil, Iran’s oil should have nothing to do with our gas prices. The American gas companies are using Iran as an excuse to gouge us and make more profits.

High gas prices if short term is a small amount to pay if this gets Iran out of nuclear capabilities. Dems are no help to Trump so he must stay the course and get this wrapped up. Living in Califoria with $6,15 gas for regular puts a hardship on everyone, but Dems who control this state will not assist and will throw everyone the bus as they don’t care. Tough times for everyone..

It is complicated and every needs to look at the while picture rather than listening to a convenient soundbite. I can accept temporarily higher gas prices if it strengthens American security and energy independence. However, the cause of the current gas price increases may have more to do with the (2) U.S. refineries shut down for maintenance this year and (2) California refineries that were permanently closed last year. It also doesn’t help that here in Michigan, the 6% Sales Tax on gasoline was replaced with a fixed $0.525/gallon tax, essentially a $.0.34/gallon artificially inflated price increase at the beginning of 2026. Details matter. Unfortunately most people don’t put the effort into looking at all the facts.

Remember its also about refineries.
Why we dont have more, I don3t know.
Oil is meaningless without refineries
That is the key to lower gas prices..

I trust the President.
I would not be against sending military into Iran to end this regime once and for all.
The Iranian Army seems to be the last holdout to any normalcy. Who’s in control??
I say let CIA and others find out who our friends are in Iran and Arm them to destroy current regime.
Many Iranian citizens want and need a revolution.
Bring back the Shah’s son if it brings westernize and normalcy back to their country.

If we are energy independent, why are US gas prices spiking?

Dan W.
Dan W.

The answer is complicated.

If we can open the Strait of Hormuz; and if we can remove the uranium from Iran; and if we can get the Iranians to stop funding their proxies in Lebanon, Gaza, and Yemen, then this war is worth the temporary jump in gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel prices.

However, we need to move fast. People who are living paycheck to paycheck or Social Security check to Social Security check are feeling the squeeze at both the pump and the grocery store already.

If we have not reached our goals by the 4th of July, the economic and political pressures will be intolerable.

I personally don’t see why our gas prices are impacted this much by what is going on in Iran. We get very little of our oil supply through the Strait. My opinion is our prices are going up more because of greed and an excuse to increase prices at the pump.

The Biden administration stupidly cut our energy independence that Trump had created in his first term. From what I’m hearing and reading we are currently a huge energy exporter, which makes sense during high prices on the world market and the huge debt the crooks in DC have created with overspending and fraud. But at least a portion of those exports should be used here at home to stabilize and limit our gas prices. The Trump administration should also be putting pressure on the companies behind the price gouging that it won’t be tolerated and will be remembered. The issues in Iran should be impacting those countries totally dependent on oil from that region, and that’s not us.

I have a slightly different comment and belief on what should be done. Iran has been a threat for far too long, and they are toying with us. These are not honest people that were used to dealing with. I personally would bomb them completely. There would be no more Iran. I’m usually a pretty peaceful person, but they’re just toying with us.

I’m 73 years old and I’ve seen this before in the 70s there’s no gas shortages there’s no reason for Americans to be paying this kind of price for gasoline this is all bunch of BS just gouging the people like we don’t pay enough taxes as it is . that’s my opinion take it or leave it but I’ve seen this before.

People are so short sighted.
Anyone who has gotten in debt, knows there is some pain and sacrifice needed to correct that situation. Anyone knows, that if you have a body condition, that gets worse over the years, it is going to take more correction later, than it would have from the start.
People today want problems fixed, but no inconvenience or disruption to their happy little lives.. Sorry, that is just not how life works..

We need to keep this in perspective. The difference between 3.50 PG and 4.25 Per gallon is 15 dollars per fill up if you have a 20 gallon tank. That’s the price of a fast food meal now a days. We act like its a huge budget buster, but its not. We will get through this.

When crude prices increase, gas at the pumps goes up right away. When crude prices come down, it takes longer for the gas at the pump to come down. That just is not right. We pay today’s price on yesterday’s delivery, but have to wait til the higher prices supply is sold to have prices go down.

If we have decimated Iran ( rockets bombs etc ) why are they not negotiating a peace deal, did we stopped to soon ? We are repeating pass mistakes, think Iraq. Get the job done then get out . You have our support but we do not like war creep. We need to stop this daily, Iran is on its knees and begging for a deal and they still fire rockets. Its embarrassing and makes one wonder what the real story is. So !!! Just do it or Git it done !!! Time to !@#$ or get off the pot.

It is way past time for Americans who say they are patriotic to fully support President Trump. President Trump has been created for this time providentially and he is risking everything to restore “One Nation Under God” in the Holy War against a combination of Islamic Terrorists, Communist elected officials and the main stream media that are trying to destroy our Faith our Families, and our Freedoms. Just say Thank you, Mr. President

If we are so energy independent, why do we have to abide by the global market price of oil? Why doesn’t President Trump or the American oil companies declare a discount price for American use, just as Iran did with China? We can still charge the global market price for foreign sales.

I support Pres Trump and his efforts to try and defeat this 40+ year regime and threat/thorn in the side of the United States. However, I am concerned with how long it is taking to achieve this goal. I think he thought it would be easier than it has been. It kind of feels like he is dangling a carrot in front of the American people when he says it is almost over or we are about to reach a deal. How many times can he say that before we start to question that. I am concerned about some of the economic and long term consequences/impacts. Especially, with the approaching mid terms. I hope we don’t lose our majority in both houses and end up with the first convicted impeached president in history and 2 new Dem states and packed SCOTUS. I hope and pray for MAGA success and continuity and a positive end to this conflict.

I’m not concerned with the gas prices as I believe they are temporary. My concern is by extending the truce he is avoiding the inevitable and damaging our chances to win the mid terms. There is no deal to be made with those Islamic terrorists. All they understand is death to America. The democratic party is pushing a communist agenda and unbelievably gaining ground. I’m at a complete loss for what’s happening in our country.

Since 1979 one source or another of the Iranian government has been killing our citizens, military members, and their own citizens. Finally we have a Patriot in the White House who is holding the Iranian government accountable. We should finish the job and free the Iranian people. Gas prices will take care of themselves.

Joe Miles

I think we should finish the job with Iran. Those people can’t be trusted. We get very little oil from there so it should not affect our fuel prices. That is oil companies screwing American people for no reason.

Mark Estes

I’m convinced that fuel prices are increased not merely by supply chain issues, but taxation. On the other hand, as a believer in God and salvation through His Son Jesus Christ, He always provides for us. Wicked men do what they do, we may not be assured of a prosperity we are accustomed to in the USA, but we can survive. We have deeper problems than fuel costs. We are need repentance to God, and cease our entitlements. He created us, and we need not shake our fists at Him.

As flush as we are with oil, President Trump should take us off of the global pricing index and stop penalizing us as if we are getting our oil from OPEC. Treat us as other oil-rich countries treat their people by dramatically reducing pricing for their citizens. We can still prosecute the war and give the American citizens gas prices of $1.00 to $2.00 per gallon with no financial hardships.

If he does that the citizens from all parties would be ecstatic and probably would feel a lot better about getting Epic Fury wrapped up in our timeline without rushing the process. President Trump would be a hero on all fronts!

All the whining about diplomacy and negotiating is absurd. Can we trust Iran. No. Have they lied before. Yes.
Voting on matters like this never works. We waited while the Japanese negotiated and lied before attacking us. The world tried to negotiate with Hitler. The world is still negotiating with Putin.
It takes the courage of one man/country to draw a line in the sand and say enough. This is who we voted for to take on this very task. So gas is high. Are my grandchildren safer? They will be if we finish the job.

It really is amazing how short our memories are and how much of a microwave, quick fix, give me a pill to fix everything of a society we have become. Freedom and how life goes tomorrow really does depend on some inconvenience in the here and now. People that need instant gratification will never understand that.

I think we all understand why the conflict inflates the price of oil, the thing that is so irritating to me, is every morning when my wife has to watch ABC morning TV (UGH, I sure can’t I just give my own commentary to their lies) they have to talk about gas prices….I know what they are doing, trying to tell the American people Trump is bad for the economy. I don’t think they did this when we had record inflation under Biden!

I agree the prices are high both gas and food, but they will come back down, we just need to be patience, but if the Dems get back in power, high gas prices and food will be the least of our problems, lose of freedom of speech and more, just look at what’s happening to NYC, Things will get better, i don’t agree with everything Trump is doing, but he is trying which is more that all the last 5 presidents have done.

Rising fuel prices have little to do with the prices of a barrel of oil. Higher prices are the direct result of greed of refiners and distributors and speculators in the energy industry.

During the Biden era where I lived in WA state, gas was always about $4.00 a gallon and I learned to batch my appointments and shopping because it was a long trip to town. Now I live in S.C. and we are still out in the forest, so $4.00 gas prices are what they are and I still batch my trips to go once a week.

It will be helpful for gas to go back down to $2.59 a gallon, but it will hurt if Iran lobs a nuclear missile into our bases or embassies or our allies. I’ve been hearing about Iran’s “Death to America” chant for years. I think “Death to Israel” runs a close second. I don’t want that.
