The President will still get border security money which will be used for additional personnel, enhanced technology, and physical barriers where appropriate (a/k/a some of The Wall).

The question is will the House, Senate, and the President hammer out comprehensive border security/immigration reform legislation during the next two years ?

POWER CORRUPTS AND ABSOLUTE POWER CORRUPTS ABSOLUTELY.
Best option POTUS has right now is to by some time to plan his next move, but this game is far from over.
The DEMOCRATS do not care who or what they must destroy in order to regain and consolidate their
complete control over our liberties and our lives,
Clearly, they are deranged enough to risk a civil war in furtherance of fulfilling their repressive agenda.
Nothing is to sacred to be sacrificed in their insatiable quest for power and that includes the lives of innocent Americans who
continued to be MURDERED by ILLEGAL ALIENS.

We the people must not allow a minority of extreme progressives to control our country. For every 770,000 people a state gets allotted a Congressional seat. That is why the Democrat leaders want illegals to be counted in the Census and why they want to remove the question on the census asking if a person is a citizen.
I ask AMAC to take the lead and organize support for the President should he decide to issue an executive order and build the wall. There is a crisis on the boarder and we must stand up for our country.

I think Pelosi and Schumer are working together to get Trump out of office, one way or the other. I think Pelosi is trying to force Trump to declare a National Emergency and she will use it to try to prove he is abusing the power of his office and get him that way. Pelosi is a corrupt politician from a corrupt family. Her father and brother were both corrupt mayors of Baltimore. She must be stopped!!!

Where is the Republican Congress SUPPORT for the president? All I see in the news are articles and soundbites from the Pelosi-schumer lemmings. Senator Graham has come out of hiding a time or two.
TERM LIMITS are needed. It is terrible that a sitting AMERICAN President has no visible support from his own party in congress.
MAGA…Term Limits.

The president is a most strategic negotiator and did not “cave” to anyone except the few Americans who had suffered long enough without a paycheck. He is allowing three weeks for them to catch up, give the SOTU address and then either declare the SOE or allow the shut down again. He will NOT give in or give up on the barrier IMO. Others have said it that Pelosi and Schumer care not one iota for anyone except themselves and I concur. They, all other dimms and all RINO’s are the most despicable lot to every inhabit the halls of congress in this nations history. Eternity and history will not be kind to them.

President Trump definitely caved on this issue. What could be more important than our national security, In fact national security and protection of our inalienable rights IS the formost reason The Federal Government exists.

The left always used the tactic of emotional arguments when arguing their point. The democrats don’t care about the citizens of this country as shown by their indifference and efforts against protecting our border. It’s all about politics so they can continue obstructing anything the President says or does to pave the way for democratic victory in 2020.

If Trump caved in it wasn’t to Pelosi. But he might have caved to the needs of the country and the several hundred thousand that were laid off. But I don’t think he caved at all. He is NOT going to give up on his promise to build the wall.

Well, let’s look at the facts. 1) Trump is hated by the Socialist Liberal Left (formally known as Democrats). 2) Trump is hated by the Corporate Controlled Liberal propaganda media. 3) Illegal Immigrants are important to the “Democrat” voter base now that Black and minority citizens realize that they have been lied to for over 50 years by the Democrats. 4) It is now abundantly clear that the Citizens in our country have totally lost control of our Government. 5) Trump realizes that over 800,000 Federal employees have went without pay through this entire “fiasco” and his in his heart, he can’t allow these people to continue on like this. 6) The weak minded, on the fence Trump supporters who now see this as a “huge loss,” are already crying about him “caving” to Turkey neck Pelosi and “Cryin” Chuck Schumer. Then we have Rodger Stone getting locked up and the ongoing “charade” that is the “Mueller investigation.” I don’t know if the “WALL” will ever get built using Federal money. Brian Kolfage, the founder of the private effort to build the wall, puts out reports daily stating that the effort he started on “Go Fund Me” is moving along nicely and in fact, can build the wall “privately” at half the cost Trump says it would cost. For all it’s worth, the Socialist Liberals are winning the “propaganda war” against Trump and the Conservative Republican right. There are a lot of mind crippled Liberals and minorities in our country looking for “handouts” at the taxpayer expense. They really don’t care if the media lies to them. All they want is ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT t**** to mow their lawns and work for them for peanuts. They want free college tuition for their kids and to be able to ABORT THE UNBORN up to 24 hours before the child would be born. The Liberal filth do not care that our country is $22 TRILLION dollars in debt. As far as the Leftist degenerates are concerned, they don’t care WHO pays for all of the “freebies” as long as they don’t have to. So Trump, for all he’s done, will not likely get OUR WALL. The Liberal Socialists will drive our country into ruination and then blame everyone but themselves for doing it. For myself, I see this as the beginning of the end of our Republic. Unless there are some factions in our Military, who are patriotic enough to start killing off some of the Liberals in Washington and therefore, starting a “Civil War,” I don’t see the Government our Fore fathers began under the Declaration of Independence and our Constitution going on for much longer. We have been lead into absolute despotism by an out of control government. Government by and for the people is now a thing of the past.

He is sticking to his guns. He is allowing 1 of 2 things for the Democrats. 1. Some wish to cross over and work with him. We will see. 2. Democrats will do nothing and fight it. After, he can shut the government down again or use his presidential power. If he does that, Daca will take a hit and the Democrats don’t want that. Chuck and Nancy may be in jeopardy of losing control of Democrats who cross over. There is no hurry to force the wall but it is time to get it going. I think that is what he is doing. Three weeks and some compromise, to let the Democrats show their hand, is not a loss.

The president did NOT cave in to Pelosi. He wanted government employees to get paid and he has said that they should get their back pay as soon as possible. He ALSO said that Feb. 15th that either the democrats will give him funding for the wall or 1 of 2 things will happen. 1) the government will shut down again or 2) he will use the power given to him by the constitution to fund the wall.

This poll is not valid to take. President Trump was not outsmarted he was humane. He can see that Pelosie nut job isn’t going to budge. By this move he has given himself a great out for calling the National Emergency and do the wall.

In the early ’60’s, there was a verse in a folk song that said ” A Congressman has a sitting end and a thinking end. Since his job depends upon his seat, why bother, friend.” The Republicans didn’t want President Trump, especially the Senate leadership. That’s why he has had no support other than lip service. The House and Senate could have pressed for the Wall last year before mid-terms. They didn’t. Congress gets paid a life time salary. They are not on Social Security and don’t care about their constituents. Each person in our congress should get 4 years and then have to leave. Career politicians are what have ruined our America. Anyone going to Washington is tainted from the get go by all these folks that have been there forever. President Trump will have to “play politics” to get anywhere with a wall.

Do not agree with any of these statements. I believe he reopened the government for the furloughed to get back on the job, for the people. I don’t believe that he will give up on the wall. And i further believe the abuse of power is coming from the democrats. They should have term limits as there is in all government positions and they should not have been getting paid on a government shutdown.

Trump is using Pelosi against herself. Trump has made it appear that Pelosi & Dems care only yo get Trump. The ppl are collateral damage. 3 weeks is nothing. Pelosi won’t vote the wall. Trump will use his power to get emergency funding. Dems will look stupid by not showing respect to their voters & Trump still got the wall. Who outdid who?

Trump has outsmarted Nancy. He is paying the workers to stop the MSN sob stories and iving Congress 3 weeks to get a deal. Without a deal he will declare a national security and build the wall. P;us he can put the blame for no deal on the Democrats.. Whomever wrote this questionair was shortsighted to not have this as an option.

Trump’s battle was never for hurting the families of government employees – especially those protecting our borders and waters – it was for the wall and improved border security. Pelosi, Schumer and the Democrats (as well as a few turncoat Republicans) were holding federal workers hostage, and in a hostage situation your first concern must be for protecting the hostages. Meanwhile, the President has very clearly warned the thugs in Congress that they have three weeks to surrender to the American people or they will be irrelevant.

I would not have re-opened it…I would have signed an executive order paying all of the furloughed people for the time the government has been shut down and pay them one month in advance. I would have had the State of the Union, whether the witch Pelosi wanted it or not….if not in the House, I would have moved to the Senate. She does not want him to tell the American people what traitors she and the Democommunists are to America. Never sit down, never shut up, never give up.

Trump? Cave? NO WAY! When will people stop trying to guess what President Trump is up to? Then nay say it right up until he turns the tables and shows his genius. President Trump doesn’t think like a politician, he thinks like a compassionate, patriotic, caring, MAGA architect, who will put both Pelosi and Schumer in their place, in the end. Wait for it, and support him all the while.

Promise free health care and college and the people will trade every freedom they have. The masses have been inculcated into believing that they are the problem and migrants are the solution. Without a path for earning a middle class wage, no matter what you do, how much you borrow for education, is the leading cause of the majority of problems. A the height of the Soviet Union (1960’s – 1970’s) the American middle class was the strongest. Why? It seems the 1% feared that the people here would seize their wealth, so they treated their workers better. When the Soviet Union fell, the 1% took their wages back. Without fair international economic competition, the 1% will invest in overseas slave labor and never open business here. The globalist need your standard of living to go down, and they import migrants who are less “spoiled” and are happier with a lower standard. More for the 1%.

I want a wall!! But we need to find a better way than holding Americans hostage. My fear is that he will only be a one term President if he shuts down sections of the government again. And I don’t want that to happen.
