I answered NOT SURE because nobody has explained how the answer “yes citizen” will be validated. Without this explanation one is allowed to wonder how the results will be meaningful.

Who are the 355 morons that believe we shouldn’t be able to ask if people are citizens?
STUPIDITY IS AT RECORD LEVELS!

Some States with large numbers of illegals stand the chance of losing seats in the House of Representatives IF illegals are forbidden, discouraged, afraid,or otherwise disenfranchised from answering the 2020 Census, which is fine with me for several reasons. There is some confusion as to what the exact purpose of the Census is among the electorate, as well as among members of Congress. We all know it is about counting we, the people, but do WE, the people, mean WE, the Citizen’s of our Country, or WE, EVERY single person who just happens to be in our Country at the time the Census is mailed out? Most on the right argue for the first meaning, and most on the left argue for the latter. Why? Well, the right tends to believe the first, and arguably the most important duty of a Country, is to PROTECT its Citizens. The left tends to believe more in protecting their own positions of power and control under the guise of “helping EVERYONE”, even at the expense of their own citizens.

The left knows that if the Census counts “everyone”, they could add, not only additional representative seats in the House, but large increases in Federal Tax dollars to those States who have large illegal populations. They also know IF the Census asks who is a Citizen, and who is not, and “Government”, generally, decides to determine congressional representation by citizenship, and Federal Tax dollar appropriation by citizenship, the left could have a LOT to lose, and they may have some very tough choices to make about WHO, and WHAT, is most important to them.

Of course, they could easily get the word out through their compliant media and tell the illegal population to simply lie by checking the little box on the Census form that says,

“Are you a Citizen of the United States?”
Yes ✔
No

Shhhh! Who’s gonna know, right???

Without question, the Census Bureau should have been asking this question at least 40 years ago. Screw the communists (dumbocrats), if they don’t like America the way it is, and they’ve created the mess that we’re in, I have absolutely NO PROBLEM having them leave and NEVER allowing them to reenter the United States of America. They WON’T be missed in the least! Let them go live in Venezuela or Cuba or Russia; that is how they want to change the United States. Kick them OUT!! ABSOLUTELY ask if you’re a citizen!! Screw up the left’s voter base! Cut off funding to sanctuary cities, counties, and states.

IT IS STILL IMPORTANT FOR THE PUBLIC TO KNOW HOW MUCH MONEY (OUR TAX DOLLARS) WAS PAID TO SETTLE SEXUAL HARASSMENT CLAIMS BY CONGRESS❓❓. HOW MUCH❓PAID FOR WHAT CONGRESSMAN/WOMAN (THE ABUSER)❓WHEN PAID❓ WE THE AMERICAN PEOPLE HAVE A RIGHT TO KNOW, NOW IT SHOULD NOT BE HIDDEN FROM THE TAX PAYING PUBLIC ‼️‼️‼️

The census determines how many representatives a state is allotted during the time period between elections. That count should never include non citizens. Especially not illegals.

Doesn’t matter because illegals will lie anyway but the question can be on there for sure

The census was intended to see how many citizens were in our country. With the number of illegals coming in, how else can you determine this?

It is my strong belief that most of all laws passed by Congress and the information given on the census should be concerning only American citizens. Only American citizens deserve representation. Illegal migrants should have no say whatsoever in the day to day Issues and running and supporting the Unites States of America!

The sole purpose for counting people every 10 years is to afford equal representation in Congress. There is no reason why we should count non-citizens. They are not suppose to vote, nor have a legal representative in the Senate or House of Representatives. Only U.S. citizens should be counted. Question #1: Are you a United States citizen? YES 0 NO 0 Done!

Why wouldn’t that be the first question on a questionnaire from any country trying to get a census to numerate its citizenry???????

It was done for decades. I do family genealogy research, and many of the census forms asked where you and your parents were born. The census forms also asked if/when you immigrated, and if you were a citizen.

YES of course it should be determined who is a citizen and who is not. But it is well known many illegals are coached and helped as to what to do and say. Most will lie on the Census if they fill it out. The Democrats will get their representatives they’re fraudulently accounting for. Tens of thousands of illegals have already been voting. We do NOT have enough Republicans interested in stopping this atrocity to our country. This is how the democrats win; they cheat. It’s the only way they CAN win. If the welfare faucets were turned off, the vast majority of them would leave on their own, but our corrupt and lawless politicians will never do it. I think Pt. Trump would do it, but he’d never get the backing.

Are you kidding me????….Of course. This should not even be a question. But we have drifted SO FAR from the Constitutional Republic as founded, that this becomes a legitimate point of discussion ?!?. ALSO, while I am at it, that is the ONLY question that should be asked….not how many toilets I have in my house, etc.,etc. Our government is in need of a MAJOR house-cleaning and fumigation! Hope the ‘Republican’ Party can gin up enough patriotism to support our President Donald Trump!!! So far they are AWOL in this regard.

I ALSO feel that no NON-Citizen should be included in determining the number of Representatives for Congress.

Tracy Matern

Not only do I vote Yes but I want everyone to understand that this is critical to our democracy. The number of representatives in the House of Representatives and the number of electoral votes is determined by population. This population should only be citizens. If it was to include non-citizens, states would be encouraged to allow more and more illegal immigrants into their borders. Getting rid of this question is a subtle way that the Left could take over the government. It is basic to any democracy that only citizens should vote.

I do not believe that any census data is relevant without knowing who are citizens? Otherwise we could put revolving doors in places and just get a head count as it would be just as relevant.

If you are not in this country legally, I don’t believe you should be entitled to any of the benefits! that includes confidentiality about if you are a citizen or not. There are legal paths to citizenship, and I know many who have been successful. If you don’t want to speak our language and follow our laws and customs, you can return to where you came from!

This should be the first question asked. if the answer is “no” then the person being interview should not be processed through the census process. if we want to capture that info then a different document should be utilized.

Understand that for every 700,000 to 900,000 illegals that are counted in the census that makes up a ‘district’ that will have a Representative. We now have over 22 million illegals in our country… do the math. We have 27 to 29 Representatives that have been voted into office indirectly by illegals. It’s simple not right. This would not be allowed in any other country in the world.

The census allows illegals to be counted towards the electoral college, regardless of if they ALSO vote illegally … Both of these acts are criminal. Illegals should NOT be counted or considered at all when in comes to our elections!

We MUST allow the Census Bureau to ask. We should allow them to demand proof. LEGAL AMERICAN citizens should be the ONLY people allowed to live and vote in America. Period. And all of them should have to provide a picture identification at the very least. We should also make it mandatory to learn and speak at least basic English before you are allowed to become a citizen.

Yes the U.S. Census should ask each respondent if they are a U.S. citizen because the quantity of CITIZENS in each state determines the quantity of seats allocated each state in the U.S. House of Representatives.

I believe there should be two census data, one of USA Citizens, illegals on a different poll.
