She should be arrested for threatening the president. Her comment could be just the one that could encourage a weak minded person as herself to attempt the assassination. What a foolish thing to say for someone who is supposed to be above that kind of mindset.

This goes beyond political hatred; With all the neurotic, misguided and misinformed electorate, who time and again have shown their misdirected reactions to current events, the congress-woman’s remarks are UNFORTUNATELY likely to motivate some unstable person to act according to her ill advised suggestions.

How would Maria Chappelle-Nadelle fear for herself and her family if someone threatened to kill her? Adults, especially “public servants”/Senators, should never lose their
professional bearing and say anything to imply harm being inflicted on anyone, at anytime……..especially the Executive Officer of the Executive Branch of the United States.
My wish is that the Senator spend a few weeks offering (compelled) public service …. after a long and thorough interrogation by the FBI and the Secret Service AND a check-out of every
member of her family, friends and contacts. I would also ask for an IRS audit of her Senatorial office / contributors / PACs etc. just to see who this person really is.
WHY ALL THIS?? She stupidly threatened the life of the President of the United States. That’s why, and I am fed up with all this disrespect of our government officials from both parties.

A comment of this nature from any politician should be treated as outright treason. It is time for congress on both the state and national level to prosecute such individuals. She is not only worthy of her office, she is not worthy of living freely in this country and should be in prison. If even an attempt on President Trump’s life would be attempted, she would be just as guilty as the one committing the act.

Hate causes much damage, especially since the left if full of violence, hate and the need to control. It is too bad people just do only understand how dangerous the Democratic Party is and has been to this country for decades. There will always be sick, degenerate people who use the fist for progress; and this is what the Progressives are openly doing now. It must stop but as long as we have rich thugs as George Soros, we will have paid violence and resistance on the left since it is their credo and ideology. I have lost all respect for any one who is a democrat and supports the DNC. I see the hate and resistance spewing from the local democrat legislators in my county in Maryland; their words alone are disturbing.

This farrr left Democrat is a disgrace to the State of Missouri, and Missouri will be a disgrace to America if they don’t find a way to remove her from her position as – of all things – a lawmaker!

We the people have to slap a person like Chappelle-Nadal down and show the communist corrupt criminal liberal democrats we will not tolerate this kind of abuse and this also goes for antifa , and black lives matter. We HAVE to stand up to these anarchist groups.

Isn’t threatening the President’s life a Federal crime? Or are these comments somehow interpreted as less than a direct threat?

In my experience, terroristic threats earn you a forensic psychiatric evaluation followed by a trial, if you are deemed competent, or lengthy inpatient treatment until deemed competent. Incompetence would suggest she should be removed from office. (e.g. John Rennie’s threats against President Ford)

I thought that her comment was considered a terroristic threat against a sitting president and deserves a prison sentence. At the very least she was inciting violence against the president.

Even though we have a right to freedom of speech, Congressmen have taken an oath to support, defend and uphold the constitution of the United States of America. Verbally indicating that you would like to see the president hung must be investigated as a possible threat to his life especially if you hold an office that brings you close to the President. If the threat is deemed real, then that congressman must be arrested and removed from office. Congressmen have other means to remove presidents that are unfit for duty if so deemed. Impeachment comes to mind or forcing their resignation. Bill Clinton was impeached but did not leave office. So far our President hasn’t done anything to be impeached or removed for. Just more liberal speak from those who try to bring down our country.

Anyone in a position of influence should be held to a higher standard. Weather it be a govt position or sports or teaching, police etc. If they speak about assassinating our President it’s jail time for them. No pension no package.

What a disgrace this senator is. She should be removed from office at once. No other person who
believes this would still be working in her position that influences so many violent leftists.

This woman should be booted out of her office today and the secret service should check into her background. There needs to be consequences for such inflammatory comments. Allowing her to stay in office shows just how sick and full of hate the democrats really are. They care not about our country, but desire the power to control it’s people.

…this female displays all of the characteristics that she and her party are falsely accusing President Trump of possessing…overt, uncontrollable racism, obvious mental weakness and defectiveness coupled with an obvious violent streak…in other words she is undeniably unfit to live the privileged, tax-payer-funded existence of a senator…it is actually unbelievable that such a person could become a senator in the first place.

It is a felony offense to threaten the life of the President. Not only should she be immediately removed, but should be prosecuted under the law for threatening the life of our President.

I have talked to a number of people recently and all of them are very concerned about our country and what is going on. All believe that the liberal left wing democrats are destroying our great country. This politically correct stuff has truly gotten out of hand and no one on their side (liberal dems) is willing to come together and support the president on any issue. So, why not drop our borders, destroy “ALL” of America’s monuments, raise taxes to pay for healthcare for all of the illegals, and honor Ms. Chappelle-Nadal for suggesting that someone assassinate President Trump. Can you imagine if someone (especially in public office) suggested this about #44? I am so sick of these liberal pukes!!! They are destroying our country…wake-up America!!!

For her to even to think such a thing is sickening let alone post it on facebook!!! She probably thinks she’s above the law! It’s one thing to dislike someone but that’s hatred. Could that be called a hate crime? WHERE’S THE MARCH?

Freedom of Speech comes with responsibility. Verbal ‘attacks’ and calling for a president’s “assassination” is neither responsible, nor ‘free speech’. The “it’s easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission”, and her “mea culpa” just don’t cut it. She is not a responsible person, especially if she cannot control her own thoughts and mouth. Who on earth does she ‘represent’? Probably people of the same ilk…small, low, short-sighted people.

I thought there was a law on the books that stated something to the effect that any person promoting/endorsing/threatening such a crime against our President was considered a felony and punishable. In this case, this woman should be immediately removed from office for espousing such an unspeakable threat. If any conservative would have said this about 44 every dem in the state would be up in arms before the sentence was finished!

Rather than take sides in this comment, I just want to state what I believe are 2 facts.
1. Freedom of speech of those in government should be virtually absolute and equal regardless of skin color or male or female.
2. Statements like hers escalate dangerous polarization in the country and the polarization could get unstable and out of hand.

Anyone that would wish or hope for another person’s death is certainly not fit for anything say nothing about the office she holds, wishing death on someone no matter how much you dislike or hate the person shows the character of the person doing so to be of low self esteem. If a white person did this they would no doubt be arrested for having made a death threat

I agree with everone that she should have already been removed from office. But, oh I forgot, the senate is still not in session–all of the senators are still on their one month vacation and being paid by our tax dollars for doing nothing about anything that is important to their constituents or to our beloved country. And of course it is the state that would have to begin proceedings to remove this person since they are the ones who elected her. So we may see nothing done at all, especially since she has done, said very stupid things in the past already.. And i also agree with all who said that if a Republican of any sex or color had said even less of an attack of hate to the 44th they would have already been removed from office and also would be up on charges of whatever they felt was needed in order to jail them forever!!

Unless my memory has betrayed me the statement the “Lady” from Missouri is covered under Title 18 United States code Sec 871. Potentially, a conviction under this section could get her 5 yrs in a Federal Institution. You don’t even have to have the means or ability to carry out the threat. Check the statute, I worked with it for 20+ years.

She has a right to her opinion, but as an elected official holding a government opinion, she needs to keep her opinions to herself. Her inability to do so can give a person with limited understanding or mental illness impetus to actually think it is ok for them to act as she expressed. It was very immature on her part and we don’t need that type of person in our government putting others at risk.

Sometimes we say or do things which, in hindsight, prove to be unwise (at best) and harmful (at worst). This woman’s comment was a trifecta, because it was hypocritical as well. If anyone had made a similar remark about His Holiness Obama she would likely have led the posse dragging him to the Racist Gallows. Mature adults, when they make a mistake, apologize sincerely and attempt to move on. Chappelle-Nadal chose to double down on her remarks, after tendering a half-a$$ed apology designed to appease her less principled critics. No sentient person would believe that she sincerely regrets the comments she made. Her hypocrisy alone suggests that she is incapable of placing the will of her constituents above her own needs.

Harry Mallory

Due to her race , gender , & party too many people think it’s ok to make that kind of comment. If someone had made that kind of comment about Obama, they would be screaming for their head. NO ONE in eleted office should even consider making a comment like that.
