Each year in America, we observe national holidays to honor, memorialize, and celebrate significant historical events; individuals; and civic values. Some national holidays/observances are rooted in religion, like Christmas, Easter, and Thanksgiving. However, our modern observance of these has focused on secular values and viewed through a financial lens.
Each of these religious or national holiday observances are celebrated on one day! However, in 1999 President Bill Clinton issued Proclamation 7203 designating the entire month of June as “Gay and Lesbian Pride Month.” But it didn’t stop there, Obama and Biden expanded it to include the rest of the letters used to identify one’s gender, and is now referred to as “LGBTQ+ Pride Month.” From here on out, I’ll refer to this group as the “Alphabet Community” so I don’t leave out new sexual identity that has been added to the list.
I feel pretty confident that our Founders did not envision an entire month be proclaimed to observe sin. Throughout the Bible, God repeatedly addressed sin, specifically immoral sexual sin. (Leviticus 18:6; 18:22; 18:23; 19:29; Exodus 20:14)
What’s next? Will we make April “Cheat on Your Spouse Pride Month”? The problem is more than being sexually immoral in the privacy of your own bedroom. It’s that the bedroom is now on display in the public square and forcibly being put on display in every facet of our society, and glamorized for an entire month. Yet, we celebrate the birth of our Savior one day, and His Resurrection on another singular day.
Forcibility is the issue. Major League Baseball should in their own lane or base path, and take ideology and woke BS and knock it out of the ballpark. Mandating that players don the logo on their uniforms in rainbow colors is ludicrous. But what is worse is that the league’s higher-ups are reprimanding these Christian players for inscribing “Genesis Chapter 9” over the rainbow-colored logo.
One alphabet community sports site published a commentary stating that three SF Giants players “disgraced themselves at the team’s Pride Night, weaponizing the Pride rainbow and attacking the LGBTQ community.” Really? The truth is that the alphabet community and all the nut-jobs that support it being shoved in the face of God-loving Americans is actually weaponizing sin.
“Above everything else, guard your heart. Everything you do comes
from it.” Proverbs 4:23
To think everyone needs to celebrate the sexual preference of anyone is absurd.
Whats next? Bestiality love night? Transvestism week? They push this crap down everyone’s throat and claim we are hateful bigots if we refuse to swallow it.
Pride night is biblically wrong. Our founding fathers started this country on their beliefs in God. I totally support what the players did. To punish them would be another wrong. Thank you players for showing your love for God and honoring him.
Advertising sexual behavior/identities shouldn’t be a part of any sports venue. Keep sex in the bedroom and let the teams play their games.
Fortunately where I live the last three or four years I have noticed business (including restaurants) have diminished celebrating “Pride month.” A few years back a few stores had a huge display and I am pleased that many stores have discountined this.
A couple years ago two employees of a grocery store were fired for refusing to wear a colored flag pin on their aprons during that month. These employees sued the grocery store and won a wrongful termination settlement.
This is modern day Sodom and Gomorrah! The players have every right to fight back! The homosexual issue has pervaded every aspect of life and it’s completely contrary to God’s Holy Word!! I’m sick of having this issue shoved down my throat and told I must be tolerant! It’s a sin and an abomination in God’s eyes! Shame on the MLB for celebrating this deviant behavior!!
San Francisco has too many problems to mess around with this item. The city is a joke, Dems run everything, gas prices are over the top, cost of housing is insane and the Giants are 16 1/2 games out of western division race. In addition they are home to 2 of the most crooked politicians in Pelosi and Gavin Dumb—t Newsom. ³
Bottom Line. I don’t really care anymore. ALL Professional Sports are a complete joke. Anyone who still owns season tickets to ANY sport is a fool. Neither the players or the owners really care about winning. They just want to be paid. Players are paid too much WIN OR LOSE. Owners are paid too much. The cost of food and drink is a CRIME. IT’S JUST A GAME!
Private businesses have a right to require employees to wear a uniform. But do not have a right to force employees to violate their personal and religious beliefs or rights. Uniforms express the image the business wishes to express. In this case they want the world to see and condone an immoral act that is in conflict with GOD and the moral convictions of the employees. Our First amendment rights given by GOD and written in our Bill of Rights trump their right to demand a uniform.
Everyone screams, OK one side screams about freedom of speech shredding the constitution. And they are allowed to have a month And recognition of them and they are protected, but when a Christian says, I wanna speak out we are wrong and stifle what is wrong is right and what is right is wrong.
Writing bible verses is one thing but a stronger statement would be for the players to boycott the games. I read that a minor league team had to forfeit a game because most players refused to wear the pride gear. This nonsense has no place in sports, which used to be a uniting force for the country.
My pick was “MLB teams should not be hosting “Pride Night” at all, and the players had every right to refuse to wear the hats or modify them to reflect Biblical values.”, but “MLB teams should not be hosting “Pride Night” at all, and the players had every right to refuse to wear the hats or modify them to reflect Biblical values.” is the right answer too.
Players were hired to play baseball, not shill for leftist employees who are bullys who own or manage teams. LEAGUE DOES NOT GET TO SHOVE THEIR IDEOLGY OR MORALS INTO THE FACE OF PLAYERS… AND ……FANS. LEAGUE IS WRONG AND IS RUINING THE….SPORT. BULLIES.
Isn’t it amazing how the left wants you to be inclusive in everything, except for your opinion If you believe in the Lord Christ Jesus. They’re going to find out real soon that eternity is a long time. There will be no liberal court judges to overturn the sentence
I totally stopped watching pro baseball and other sports, because of stuff all this WOKE crap.
A minuscule portion of our population gets and entire month to celebrate their sexual preferences and those millions who fought and died to defend our rights and liberties, our military veterans, get ONE DAY. Seems to me it should be the other way around.
Do you think the Muslim women who are wearing hijabs should take them off. No. That will never happen. It’s part of their religious dictates. The MLB is getting nuts. How about if the players who write Bible verses in their hats sue for discrimination.
I was the Registrar at a small University of Minnesota campus where all student groups were forced to help participate in some capacity during the Pride week which was called, “Hearing All the Voices,” or lose their status as a campus student organization. However, the Christian organizations were not allowed to present their beliefs during that week. They needed to show support of the LGBTQ agenda in some capacity. I was the faculty adviser for one of the Christian student organizations. In a conversation with our chancellor, he asked me is God even cared about what people did to satisfy their sexual desires. He was Jewish, so I responded simply, “I have always considered the things God said people should be stoned for, were things God took very seriously.” He remained my friend. He was my next-door neighbor. He allowed my voice to be heard. At my retirement he delivered the sermon I wished I would have had the freedom to share with the 300 or so guests that he titled, “His Eye Is On the Sparrow.” He spoke of noticing students entering my office in tears who might have just received news that a parent died, or lost their business, or gone through divorce, but who came out of my door later with a smile. He said he didn’t know what happened in my office, but guessed we might have prayed together inviting God to walk through the difficulty with them. Although I was often cited in my faculty reviews for what they thought might be proselytizing, he said there is a spiritual need in the lives of our students the campus was otherwise unable to address.
If writing a Scripture reference is wrong, why was it OK for the club to change the appearance of the caps by adding the “gay” rainbow? How about they concentrate on their business–baseball– and leave the woke crap out of it? Do you suppose, even in SF, that the majority of their fans are gay or tranny? I doubt it! Let sports be sports, not politics!
And MLB teams should not be hosting “Pride Night” at all, and the players had every right to refuse to wear the hats or modify them to reflect Biblical values.
Gonna be difficult to run those bases if MLB keeps on shooting themselves in the foot. As Forrest Gump said, “Stupid is as stupid does”.
PRIDE goes before destruction,
a haughty spirit before a fall. Proverbs 16:18
Screw pride month, this should not even be a thing. Time to abolish this and start American family month. Another thing is take that sick Ru Paul drag crap off the air and now there is a new one” drag brunch saved my life” get this filth off the air.
Sue the MLB management into penury for creating a hostile work environment, violating the players civil and constitutional rights AND just being boneheads for the ‘Pride’ BS.
I object to “Juneteenth.” To me it mocks the way some people of color talk rather than honoring them. Also a lot of black folks don’t even care about Juneteenth. They are citizens of the United States and they celebrate the 4th of July like the rest of us. I’m of the opinion that politics and religion should stay out of sports.
MLB is getting involved in an area that is political and should not! Whilel the game is open to everyone to enjoy there is no need to celebrate one’s sexual choices either way! Will MLB have a heterosexual month ..no and I would oppose it if they did..MLB should just stick to making Baseball enjoyable..I support the players to object to wearing rainbow anything it it goes against their beliefs.
This so-called Pride Night is a divisive allusion to a minority of people in the population. We don’t need anymore divisiveness in this country. There is enough phony division being generated by the dumo-craps to go around. Let’s bury all of this hatred and garbage right where it belongs! Under the dunghill of history along with things like Nazism and Fascism and Communism, and any of their prophets like Sanders, AOC & that ilk!
And to those who think the American flag is divisive or a complicated thing-LEAVE! We don’t want nor need you here! You have forfeited your rights to remain!
GOD BLESS THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AND HER LOYAL CITIZENS!
GOD BLESS THE PRESIDENT, DONALD J. TRUMP!
AND LONG MAY OUR TRUE RE, WHITE & BLUE BANNER FLOAT OVER THE LAND OF THE FREE BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE! AMEN!
Celebrating sin is wrong. Homosexual shame month should not be celebrated. The rainbow is a biblical symbol hijacked by these modern day sodomites. If they want to use the biblical symbol, why not respond with biblical verses proclaiming the Truth.
Does MLB hava Heterosexual Nite? How bout a ProLife Day? Or maybe a CHRIST Doubleheader Event?
We need to honor our Employer unless it violates our biblical JESUS honor – then simply ask/ Appeal 4 opt out n take the punishment if denied. There’s a cost n be grateful 2″suffer” 4 The Lord. These days of evil coming thru demoncratic doors n liberal leadership plus narrated by msm is a challenge.
I have never been able to figure out just WHAT they are proud of!
Professional sports pushes agendas which is wrong! If professional sports teams (owners and league) can push MLM, support kneeling during the National Anthem, etc., then players should be able to show their personal beliefs. Just stop pushing agendas (both sides) and stick with the sport. People are exhausted by all this bs.
This pride crap needs to end, MOST people do not care what you do in private, BUT the MAJORITY are damn tired of having your crap shoved in our faces, either stop shoving your perversions in my face or climb back in the closet.
This wouldn’t be an issue for MLB if it were a verse from the Quran…js
If management is going to force an agenda (BLM, Gay Pride, whatever), then all bets are off. Players should do whatever they’d like. So the real issue is, management should not force an agenda, and consequently, players should not mar their uniforms.
My husband and I rarely watch any sporting events or awards shows since they’ve become so political. When can we go back to just enjoying the games and celebrating excellence?
MLB would have been wise to just ignore the verses on the hats. They created an issue with their public reprimand and threat of punishment. But the gay agenda has infiltrated and infected all of our society’s institutions. There are probably queers in the Giants and MLB offices that were insulted by the players actions and they issued the warnings. The whole idea of devoting an entire month to deviant sex practices seems a bit strange.
We live in a world where the majority do not serve Christ, and even the majority that say they are “Christians” stand with all formats of sexual immorality not of God because the majority of pulpits we now have do not serve God either. They serve themselves and even the government….but, we cannot give a double standard. Athletes that serve God must think about putting in their contracts they will not participate in things not of God, a type of grandfather clause that makes it clear, and established where they stand. The same should be done in every business, educational establishment and certainly real Churches that serve God.
The Demonic constructs and death cults that have been brought in churches alone per the pulpits alone, have made 80-90% of those pulpits, and Church leadership, not of God, not just teaching God’s Word and bringing many evils in them, calling them “good.” Imagine what that has done to sports, entertainment, education, media, our courts and government. Wait. We don’t have to. We can see what it has done with just BILLIONS of unborn babies slaughtered to their god’s of Baal and Moloch (look it up).
This is nothing new, and the many tools that Satan uses have one key design. To eliminate human life. Homosexuality does that. Homosexual marriage does that. Transgenderism does that. Abortion does that. The abortion pill does that.Sex before marriage does that as well (designs lust over love and imbalance to what dating is supposed to be, not having sex and figuring out if that man or woman you want to build a family with, a life with and children to share that same value, morality, ethics and commonsense.
I don’t agree with the fact they even played that game, little girls have given up championship games because they would be playing boys allowed on girls teams. They just should have refused to even put on the uniforms and any equipment that praises sexual immoralities against God, just like the minor league baseball team did and had to forfeit the game. There is no shame in doing that when you serve the glory of God.
The left Democrats are dictators; and awful people. I pray they never get more power. Scary people!
Being Gay is not a religious belief. It is contrary to religious beliefs.
ALL sports teams from elementary school through college, or professional, or ANY organization affiliated with, controlling them, or owning them should stay OUT of politics and social issues. If INDIVIDUALS from any of those groups mentioned above wants to support a political issue or social cause, they should be free to do so on their own.
The same applies to corporations, companies, and unions. No employee should be forced to support anything NOT DIRECTLY RELATED TO THE ACTUAL BUSINESS OR ORGANIZATION.
In the biased, not so humble opinion of this 80 year old, Years ago this question would not have needed to be asked. Everyone’s answer should be a resounding HELL NO!!!
If your place of employment forces a religion, ideology or belief on you – you should have the right to not participate. Putting a bible verse on their cap may have been wrong, but I believe some players a few years ago wrote “BLM” on their caps, but they weren’t admonished. If it’s wrong for one group – then it’s wrong for everyone!!
The Bible teaches us that pride comes before the fall. Nuff said.
Will never understand why gays have to broadcast & display their behaviors for the world to see. I like an adult drink periodically but don’t need to tel the world I do. Its really of no interest to to them, The same as pride, blm, and many ojectionable displays we see much too often. Patriotic, military, and many other choices are out there w/o deliberately choosing the divisive ones. heh county’s 250th year is a good example of a display w/o being divisive.
MLB is DEAD TO ME!!!
I do not mind the scripture, but if the have a uniform rule, then the teams should also NOT have any other deviation. Pride symbols should not be on the uniform either. So if no scripture, no pride, or other symbols that have nothing to do with ball. Also no punishment for the scripture when forced to wear something that goes against your belief. Unfortunately if it were another religion, there probably wouldn’t be any complaint.
Yesterday was June 19th yet another nonexistent holiday. These rainbow flag waivers will rue the day that they have decided to mock God. The rainbow is God’s promise to Noah to never destroy the earth with water again. Today it’s a flood of lies.
The MLB should not be promoting LGBTQ in any way. They should not be promoting poking any kind. Players aren’t paid to promote politics or religion either.
NONE f this has any place in baseball! Period!
Since the sponsors were expressing their religious beliefs, as allowed by the 1st Amendment, the players should be allowed to do the same.
It is unfortunate that they are required to do this. However, what did they sign up for when they signed their contract. If they agreed to this, even unknowingly, to get paid millions of dollars, I hope they think about this before they agree to the next contract that requires them to go against God.
