The following may offend or ruffle a few feathers. However, that is not my intent. My concern here is what does the Pope have to do with AI or anything else for that matter? The more pivotal question is “Why do we have a Pope in the first place?”
Before Christ, the priests served as mediators between the Israelites and God. They were the ones who performed animal sacrifices on behalf of the people. It was only the priests who were permitted to enter the Holy Place in the tabernacle and, later, the temple. Among these Levitical priests was the high priest. The first high priest was Aaron, the brother of Moses. His sons and their descendants were to serve as the future high priests of the nation of Israel. Only the high priest was permitted to enter the Most Holy Place in the tabernacle and temple, and that only once per year on the Day of Atonement. This was all before the birth of Christ.
Prior to Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection the temple had a room with a veil that separated the Holy of Holies (the earthly dwelling place of God’s presence) from the rest of the temple where man dwelt. This signified that man was separated from God by sin
By the time of Jesus’ earthly ministry, the Jewish priesthood held much spiritual and political power. (Today, the Pope is the do all/end all of alleged spiritual power, and certainly political power.) In fact, the Jewish chief priests were involved in sentencing Jesus to death. Following the resurrection of Jesus, believers now live under a new covenant in which all Christians are priests.
“But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.” 1 Peter 2:9
At the moment of Christ’s death on the cross, this veil or curtain was torn in two (from top to bottom) giving man direct access to God. “Just then the temple curtain was torn in two, from top to bottom. The earth shook and the rocks were split apart.” Matthew 27:51
No longer were priests necessary to intercede and relate with God on our behave. Jesus now fills that role. “For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus.” 1 Timothy 2:5.
And this is why Jesus told us, Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6
Jesus didn’t say, the Pope is vehicle by which we have direct access to God, or through whom we can establish and live out our relationship with God. The Pope should stay in his lane and be like any other pastor or minister and preach the Word of God, period!
(Looking forward to the “hate-mail” type of comments. Again, my intent was not to offend, but to question the purpose of a Pope. AMAC should just ask about AI instead of involving the Pope.)
I aam not the biggest fan of AI. Mostly, because there is going to come a day, when we won’t as the audience, be able to tell when it is being used. This makes propaganda by the government even more possible. Not good. We want to know what we are seeing is the truth.
Artificial intelligence is only as good as the people creating it.
All of the above is true. What does that tell us? Like anything else, it can be used for good or for evil. God help us.
It’s a great tool for Satan.
I hate A.I. and find it evil!
“Artificial” intelligence, like plastic flowers, lacks fragrance, warmth, other qualities that make it more appealing to humanoids. I grew up without it and distrust AI at best.
Although the AI technology has taken years to be developed, no one really knows where it is heading but God.
As with every new technology there is always a significant time lag for appropriate cultural and/or government regulation to catch up with its bad results. We haven’t caught up with the bad side effects of the internet yet. (Thank you Al Gore) And AI is advancing a lot quicker than people using the web.
I’ve read (if true) AI has already been implicated in influencing some young people to commit suicide. If a human did that, they’d be culpable to current legal consequences. How do you prosecute an AI assistant? Arrest the programmers? But what if it writes its own code updates?
And this genie is already out of the bottle.
I don’t think we’ve begun to see the dangerous effects of AI. When the internet first entered our world it was very different. It was quite an information highway to explore so many other places and ideas. Now it seems to be the scourge with social media, child predators, misinformation and its effect on people. I fear where AI will take us in the next few decades. More technology isn’t necessarily a good thing.
AI is a powerful tool. The U.S. needs to properly get in front of this technology because China and the Democrat Party will definitely use it to push their lies. They know if a lie is repeated enough times, uninformed people will begin to believe it. You’re already seeing many You tube videos that are using this technology pushing false narratives and they look so realistic.
You need to read Steven Hawkins take on A I.
He gave warnings on it.
A I has alreadyshown it lies. The bad guys are using it to clone your voice to use in scams.
I refuse to use it. I don’t talk to AI when I call Tech support. I always ask to speak to a
real person; be persistent & you will reach a real live person.
In my personal opinion A I Sucks!
Artificial Intelligence will be a major tool of the Anti-Christ and his unholy trinity. Jesus warned of increased deception in the End of the Age. In Daniel 12:4, “But you, Daniel, close up and seal the words of the scroll until the time of the end. Many will go here and there to INCREASE KNOWLEDGE (emp. added).
When people started really talking about AI, I was very concerned. ChatGPT and other AI programs started being used by students to write research papers. Ads I see on the Internet for AI programs show people using it to create project reports for work so the human doesn’t have to. It is going to, and has already, make people lazy and even more ignorant.
We should be paying attention to who is pushing for AI the most. Who is going to benefit financially from it? Those are the people and groups who will seek to control it. AI is only as good as the information it is given. The Internet, while not actually AI, is the same. Anyone can create a website and put whatever information they want on it. When AI searches the Internet to write a paper, or collect information, what sites is it using? I’m sure it can be programmed to ignore certain types of websites or certain information in order to create the results desired by the person or group initiating the prompt.
As another commenter said, we haven’t even learned how to properly control the Internet so how can we expect to be able to properly control AI. I fear Skynet may be closer than we realize.
Evil exists in the world and I believe it’s been proven that, if there’s a way for someone evil to use something against humanity for personal gain, they WILL do it. A.I. will eventually be used for something destructive and, because of it’s ability to learn on it’s own, will be the beginning of the end. I know, I know, doomsday crap but this is what I believe. How close are we? Only God knows the answer to that question.
Bad idea from the beginning. theres too many ways the evil in this world can corrupt manipulate and use for the wrong reasons
AI is the base building block for the Beast system.Merged with Quantum it will be used for the ultimate control of humanity.
AI is the tool Satan has been waiting for. Worship the image of the beast (anti christ). The false prophet will steer lost souls to worship the beast with the help of AI. Everything is in place for rapture to happen, if you are a pretriber.
Maranatha!
“If anyone does not love the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be accursed. O Lord, come!”
I Corinthians 16:22 NKJV
As a retired IT professional who has developed many computer systems over the years, AI is scary. There is no question that it has many potential benefits, but it has a large number of dangerous pitfalls as well. It’s the most complex software ever developed, meaning it will contain a vast number of “bugs”, some of which could well be catastrophic. We all see relatively simple apps we use every day that contain irritating faults, and AI is orders of magnitude more complex. AI was under development in the 1960s when I entered the IT business and took all these decades to become possible. Among other things, these AI applications contain the prejudices of those who develop them, meaning the AI results reflect to some extent results that are less than objective, meaning they may not be reliable. That all said, the genie is out of the bottle and in the hands of nations worldwide who have no concern over the ethical or moral use of this technology. In other words, we can’t control it! It’s too late for that! So beware. The potential many benefits of AI come with many potential downsides, and it scares me as it should everyone.
As a former IT person, AI poses a risk simply because there are evil people who will use it for their own gains. Just like they did with email and phones, they will use AI to hurt people. I’m sure Dems are already working on ways to use AI to cheat elections.
Human: “Open the pod bay door, HAL.”
AI: “I am sorry I can’t do that Dave.”
AI is touted as the next Industrial Revolution or printing press etc. And it may well be. It might be the greatest or worst thing to affect human life so far. Or it might not. No one can predict what’s going to evolve from it. It doesn’t seem possible to opt out. Too many of our competitors and enemies will be using it. Regulation of it will be similar to internet and social media I’m sure. Kind of impossible so all we can do is pray to God that it works more for good than ill.
AI if not controlled may one day slip its bonds, somehow create it’s own world, then decide humankind is no longer necessary. Whoops!
People playing God. Not good.
We already have a MORE STUPID YOUNGER GENERATION that has lost it’s morals, wants only the perks without WORKING FOR THEM, wants handouts, wants no consequences to their actions, and wants someone else to wipe their butts…..
Remember, AI was dreamt up by people who can’t read cursive, can’t spell, don’t understand simple sentence structure or know what punctuation is. Is this the groundwork you want to use to re-define humanity?
Remember Albert Einstein- ‘The world that we have made as a result of the level of thinking we have done thus far, creates problems that cannot be solved with the same level of thinking that created them.’
As for AI, if we keep going down this path we will all be brain washed by the elite, who will control AI. We will never know the truth again, for everything will be what they want us to know. It’s too far gone to reign back in. We, human beings, are infact creating our own demise.
Who watches the watchmen?
My concern is that we will have to start questioning whether everything is real, or made up, or true! We need to have discernment in this day and age.
Those that own the technology today will rule the world (teasing with the good it does) and die knowing that A.I. technology will eventually destroy humanity.
I DON’T use A.I.
If A.I. CAN’T tell you what a WOMAN is, it may be artificial, but it is certainly NOT ‘intelligent’.
Garbage IN, garbage OUT.
All four of the options to this question have validity. AI is powerful, it should follow moral and ethical standards, it is dangerous and is impacted by the beliefs and values of those who create the models. Over time I expect, just as we see with biased media, which AI tools are reliable and which are tools of agenda driven power hungry people.
I have used AI to save time on a project. I ended up having to spend almost the same time correcting it as if I didn’t use it.
The genie, unfortunately, is already out of the bottle. My concern is we are just along for the ride.
From what I can see AI is no better than the creatures that build it and the source of its information. Meaning that it has no capabilities other than what it is allowed but we are allowing the jackasses who build it to decide how it will behave and so far all I find is that it is really heavy on censorship, never ever tells the truth, misleads intentionally, is VERY muslim-centric, is VERY anti Christian and VERY anti-Jewish. Doesn’t that make you wonder why the creators of AI would make it that way. Yes they do make it that way because AI is still a machine and has absolutely NO HUMAN CHARACTERISTICS other than the lying and hatred.
The Pope should concentrate his efforts on confessions, exorcisms, and communions. Frankly, who cares (not I) what he thinks, feels, eats, drinks, etc. Stay in your lane Papi and leave politics at the front door of the church, not the alter!
AI is not “a tool”.
Does a hammer decide to blackmail yo when it doesn’t find the project logical?
Does a screwdriver hallucinate?
Does a lawn mower lie?
Does anyone remember the Star Trek episodes (The first 3 series or so) when they’d
come upon a world run by the computers? Yeah, human slaves or organic units to
be eliminated because they were illogical or inefficient or what have you. Or the
AI that took over the ship and would rewire everything to kill anyone that tried to
disable it? Of course, being TV, the humans prevailed, but we’re not in TV fantasy
land. People are already losing jobs to AI. AI has already tried to blackmail its
creators trying to avoid shutdown.
AI has no soul. A void is always a handy place for evil and satan to move in.
The people creating AI are atheists, nihilists, profit and control seekers. The elite
are sycophants to them.
AI should be restricted greatly, removed from public access (students and media already are using it to their and our detriment), and Congress should enact laws to at least prohibit ever granting AI or robots anything resembling rights.
Remember a question from one of the Jurassic Park movies? Scientists should ask
“Yes, we can do it, but should we do it?” Seems to be always asked TOO LATE.
May God enlighten our leaders and the AI creators to the dangers and evil of this technology and put the brakes and guardrails on it now (as well as leaders in other countries).
Peace, God’s mercy on us.
I think many people can’t/don’t grasp the scope and extent…
Artificial Intelligence ( AI ) going to be the biggest mistake made by mankind in recorded history.
Let’s look at it from the basic nonsensical reasons for creating it. Huge water, land, and electrical power demands for it to exist and operate. Adequate fresh water for human needs has been a growing concern for decades already and one very visible example of that is the “bathtub ring” on the canyon walls on Lake Mead and Lake Powell. Yes, there have been some serious floods in other parts of the country, but most of that water runs off and is not retained in a usable manner. Aquifers are also at risk and several years ago, a foreign owned Alfalfa farm in Arizona drew so much water from wells that it pulled the water table level in that area down to where other wells in the area weren’t deep enough to still draw water. Land, Some very rich people like Ted Turner have bought large numbers of acres to preserve the natural habitat, AI land acquisitions have already exceed that total. Electrical needs for digital coin mining already has shown how much power running large electronic processor operations require and it’s huge along with the water needs and heat generation given off. The environmental, save the planet agenda, is going to be a major victim of the operational needs and waste generated by AI.
Now, AI itself. All we ( you and I ) mostly know. is the data centers are for “storing data”. Why is what seems like an enormous amount of data now needing storage capacity? What IS that data and what will it be used for? AI has already shown it’s creators a developing ability to actually think independently and in some cases caused problems for it’s creators – think about a strong minded teenager arguing with a parent. AI will not be a good know-it-all, go-to, all-seeing, all-knowing “Wizard”. AI will be the product of fallible human input and influence and like a child brought up in a bad home environment, it could be no different.
There have been some really intelligent sci-fi writers in the last hundred and fifty years who have actually foretold scientific development. H. G. Wells and Jules Verne are two that come to mind and there are others not as well known who wrote about computer run society and government functions that now border on reality. Movies like “Logan’s Run”, “2001 A Space Odyssey”, and “War Games” can well be a real preview of where advanced computer dependency is headed.
I’m sure that AI has useful benefits, however I fear it will be used for more government control and invasion of privacy! And believe that it should be limited!
It is a detrement tovery important natural resources such as Water, Farmland and our production of Electricity. I do not see any Real benefit that is produced when compaired to the cost in Resources in its use. It produces nothing that is tangible while it Destroys our Land and Water. If they want them so bad, let them build them where the temperature is below ZERO 24/7/365; just open the windows to cool the computers.
A.I. is just like your computer. It only knows what it is programmed to know. It’s not going to take over everything as people fear. I use it from time to time, particularly with my writing, which I use for grammar and the possibility of finding something better than what I’ve written. A lot of the time, it structures paragraphs, sentences, etc. in ways that I was not taught in school. It will also rewrite and restructure points that I am making that are nothing like what I wanted to say. Additionally, it likes to write in one and two word sentences. There are phrases and words that, when I read what someone else has posted on social media, I know it was written with AI, and not for the better.
If I didn’t know any better, I’d swear, with the melodramatic way AI writes, it was programmed by my Italian grandmother.
I’m not worried about. What worries me are the data centers popping up that are wrecking the environment and creating chaos (an AI word) for the communities where they’re placing these centers.
Those were my own words. Now here is what AI did with it, along with their explanation:
I tightened the grammar and flow while keeping your voice and humor intact:
“A.I. is a lot like your computer. It only knows what it’s programmed to know. I don’t think it’s going to take over everything the way some people fear.
I use it from time to time, particularly with my writing. It’s useful for grammar and occasionally suggests something better than what I’ve written. A lot of the time, though, it structures paragraphs and sentences in ways I was never taught in school. It will also rewrite and restructure points I’m making into something completely different from what I intended to say.
And then there are the one- and two-word sentences. There are certain phrases and writing habits that immediately give it away. When I read some posts on social media, I can tell they were written with AI—and not for the better.
If I didn’t know any better, I’d swear that, with the melodramatic way AI writes, it was programmed by my Italian grandmother.
I’m not worried about AI itself. What worries me are the data centers popping up everywhere, consuming enormous amounts of resources and disrupting the communities where they’re being built.”
One small note: I’d keep the joke about “chaos (an AI word)” out of the last sentence. The Italian grandmother line is a stronger punchline, and ending on the data-center concern gives the post a more serious and effective conclusion.
JUDGE FOR YOURSELF.
AI is a tool. It has already provided cures for illness. People neither have the capacity or recall to tackle some of the medical and scientific questions of today. There will be great advances in medicine and science. Hopefully, we don’t kill ourselves with it first. Similar to nuclear power, we can do harm and we can do great things
The poop should stay silent on matters of which he has little or no knowledge. This includes Christianity and Judaism in addition to economics and politics.
Just like the Internet, AI has great potential but will probably be heavily used by scammers and despicable bottom feeders to prey on our society…
The Pope should stay with religion and not politics! God has in store for us what he is going to do!
Blame the Democrats!!!!
The fear of AI is not rational. Our enemies are spending money to make Americans scared because they want to win the AI race. We cannot let China be the leaders in AI.
Anyone who thinks AI is wonderful, or thinks they can control it, they haven’t watched or read enough sci-fi movies and books.
I think we should shelve AI until we quit killing each other.
The Terminator has arrived.
People ignore it like they ignore health problems and going to the doctor.
Expecting it to go away or just get better.
